Guys, I have a funny story to tell for all of you. Some of you might remember when like 2 or 3 years ago there was this guy who said that he was an insider from Rockstar and gave a bunch of information about GTA V. At the time we knew absolutely nothing about the game, but the guy told us that there will be 3 main playable characters and actually named 2/3 characters - Franklin, Trevor and he said the 3rd would be Albert, but as we found out later, it was Michael. I can't remember exactly what he said but he gave us a really huge amount of info and most of it was true, yet no one believed him at the time. Some time passed and when we actually got some info some people remembered him and said "Damn, that guy was right". Believe me, I am not making this up, this really happened but I think most of you won't remember it, because most of you joined not so long ago.

 

And yeah, I know I shouldn't believe everything I see or hear on internet, but since THAT happened... I started thinking a bit different. I mean, who would have thought that some guy who joined these forums minutes ago would give us real information, even if we didn't know it was real then. I am not saying that you should all go and believe that, but remember that it already happened once or even more (this is the only time I remember something like that happened).

Stop comparing other games' timing of things to GTA. Evolve also had a free widely played beta a few months ago. Its also a completely different style of game with it being multiplayer only basically + (and most importantly in this discussion) its a brand new IP. Evolve needs to get things out earlier to sell people on the game. GTA doesn't need that.

 

Its been pointed out ad nauseum that plenty of other games have had their reqs revealed closer to release than we are now. Its not "sad", its just the timing these particular developers chose to use. However, one positive? Evolve is published by Take Two. I dunno if that means GTA is likely or not for later today, but hey its possible.

 

I also dont understand some of the silly comments like "we only have 4 days before its too late" or something like that. No. We have 15 days. I dont want to piss in anyone's coffee, but there are no rules here. Games have and will again have requirements released the day before if not the day of release. Plenty of games have never see a Steam pre-order and met their release dates with no delay. While I personally wouldn't bet on this situation for this game and believe its an any day situation at this point, setting these arbitrary deadlines mean nothing. We have 15 days to go. More and more stores are getting in advertising and its even possible the game is sitting in those time restrictive boxes in their back rooms right now (when I worked at Gamestop, we'd typically get advertising in the same boxes and it all came in one go, but not always the case).

 

Just chill. There won't be a delay and we'll have info soon. Watching the SteamDB like hawks and counting down the amount of people in game wont get the info quicker.

Ok, I too can confirm that there are banners all over the local store on my country too. Just visited a few hours back and posters hanging all over the place. The guy at the shop said that the publisher asked them to begin marketing in full force. Guess the game isn't delayed then? I can rest in peace now.

Uh what? No lol. Rockstar have released important at later than 4pm EST before lol like First Person Mode, announcing XB1/PS4 digital pre-orders (6 days before release btw).

 

Enough setting arbitrary deadlines. The day isnt over until 5-6 EST when people are leaving the NYC office. This sh*t can drop at any time til then.

Delay/Not delay announcement? Today shops around the world began place PC version advertising. And on all billboards release date one - 27 January, 2015. So the chance that Rockstar announced delay - is extremely low. Everything is ready.

 

What else? Activation method? Already many shops have said that a retail copy will not friendly with Steam, they have no reason to lie. In addition, no other store didn't refute it.

 

System Requirements? Yes, it would be good to know them. But this is not necessary, you already know enough powerful your PC for modern games or not. If the rest of the game is not a problem for him, then and GTA 5 will not.

 

What remains? PC trailer and screenshots? This is rubbish, really. They are not necessary, since obviously that the PC version will be only slightly better console. Better anti-aliasing, higher resolution and a couple of barely visible things.

That's pretty cool. This is why I hate all those fake leaks. The people who have actual REAL information will just get known as 'liars'. But there's nothing you can really do about that.

Ofcourse it's not delayed, you know that R* planned to release PC version with XOne/PS4 in 2014. But they delayed it to 27 th January because they just wanted to get console money first. If they were not 100 % sure that the game will be released on 27th they wouldn't give us release date they would just say PC version coming in Early 2015 so don't worry
