Preorder month

952 members have voted

  1. 1. When will the preorder option on steam be available for GTA V PC?

Rockstar is really on a spree with these boring crate drops lately...

See you guys on Monday.

"i hate everything about this game rockstar are showing but when i get it its goign to be awesome"

?? Crate drops have always been boring and often buggy.

I mean I can collect them once a month but not every day since December 16.

And I hate not collecting them either because I want to have everything I possibly can when PC version comes out.

Resident Evil remake preorders are now open in steam, game releases on the 20th, so that's about a 1 week and 3 days. Is a week and 3 days before release a safe estimate for gtav preorders as well?

I lurk here often, and have enjoyed all the GTA games (with mods). I want to pre-order but after some of the other notable PC Port disasters this year, I am nervous to pre order. Will Steam support mods or will R* not allow it via Steam. Some game companies did that to steam titles for a long time. Who is doing the port for R* this time around? I know people will scream its not a port, but it will be. What matters is who is doing it.

It seriously shocks me that people still think it's a port.

" I know people will scream its not a port, but it will be."

Yeah, you went to Rockstar Studios and you talked with the devs and they said to you it'll be a port.

OK...

by definition it's not a port

because word on the PLAYGROUND is that they remade a bunch of it and it's been in development since 2012 (?)

the only way you could call it a port is using the reason that the console versions were released first

From what I can see in the build logs I'd say it goes like this: A master version was made for PS3 and Xbox 360, PC was based off that and then optimised on its own since 2011-2012, then XBone and PS4 got ported from PC because they're also x86.

well it gives us hope that's for goddamn sure but I would've thought GTA 5 is more popular and you'd think R* knowing this would release them before

ohhhhhh the anticipation

I'm just sad that I can't play the game on release day, my download will finish about 10 days later :|

Why does everyone think a Rockstar PR person saying "We haven't delayed the game yet" is news?

Can't you, like, get a physical copy instead ? And how does this Steam thing work ? If you buy a physical copy of the game, can you simply add the game to your Steam library and download it instead of install it from the disk?

P.S. : Sorry if I went into the wrong thread to ask this.

How do you guys know it is not a port? On Russian sites there were rumours that the Alpha-version of the game was ported to PC from Xbox 360, so this actually is a port

Except that's not what they said. That's a terrible misinterpretation.

All that said, it isnt news to anyone that has been following this madness for the last few weeks. However, I think the fact a very well known publication has said something is a good thing, hopefully it gets Rockstar to throw us at least a small bone. People are getting more and more bent out of shape about this game lol

"On Russian sites" part perfectly explains if it's true or not. Come on man, how some Russian website could even know something about a port.

I would just like to hear anything "Official" from R*. I mean I know my current PC is going to be more than ok. I just have to wonder why they havent gotten us any info so close to release. R* doesnt have a great rep with PC imho. It just makes me wonder why they treat us like the proverbial red headed step child.

Has anyone checked this out yet?

http://www.cdkeys.com/pc/games/grand-theft-auto-v-5-pc-cd-key-steam

Says its for steam?

These have been up for months now. Many of these places assume things. Yesterday a couple of them (G2A and Kinguin) sent out emails that they would not be providing Steam keys for the game.

I think if anyone is thinking of purchasing from one of the "unauthorized" key shops, its best to wait and make sure you're getting a Steam key if thats what you want. They probably can't even answer definitively yet as its highly unlikely that Steam keys have even been generated for the game (if they will even exist) yet. To add, I've purchased games from some of these places (G2A and CJsCDKeys) and have NEVER had a problem with them, no deactivated games, etc. so I think its a minimal risk to purchase from them, but this particular game has too many unknowns right now IMO to consider purchasing from them.

If the boxed game is not Steam redeemable as it seems at this point, then its highly unlikely the Steam version will be able to be purchased outside of Steam. This is by Rockstar's design and its how companies with their own platforms (i.e. Ubisoft with uPlay) do business. IE if I want Watch Dogs on Steam, I can only get it on Steam. Anywhere else I buy it will be a uPlay version. I still have to use uPlay even if I have the Steam version anyway, just as if Rockstar are doing similar I will have to use Social Club with the Steam version of GTA 5.

Bottom line: Wait for more information and dont assume that the information is correct on these sites right at this moment. I imagine that within 7-10 days everything will be clearer.

I'm not saying it's a trash as we're both from the same country. At the same moment, I don't know enough truthful sources in Russia that could share that info, especially considering that no one else from leading news websites published something about an X360->PC port.

I'm not even saying about the lack of any logic in that port, considering that porting from XOne/PS4 would be much easier due to x86 architecture. Think about that.

I mean people here can know information about the game when there's no official info

I'm being ultra selfish, but i kinda hope they delay the game by a week or so because I have exam on the 27th ;-;

I doubt it's gonna happen, though.
