Wow. Watching that old gameplay trailer from 2013 really is crazy. Having played through the game on PS4 at 1080p, it's insane seeing how much worse the old gen version really was. Texture quality is easily the best improvement, but also draw distance and overall shader quality. It really makes me wonder, am I even going to find that big of a difference when I play this game on my PC? I'm thinking honestly, no. I know I will have true anisotropic filtering (the absolute biggest necessity for this game graphically over consoles) and better anti-aliasing. Frame-rate I am willing to sacrifice with a 30 fps cap if I can push say 4xMSAA and 2560x1440. But really it'd be nice to play at 1080p with FXAA and a solid 60 fps.

 

Crazy just thinking about how in less than 3 weeks (God willing) I will be able to customize my graphics and tweak this game to perfection like I did in GTA IV and so many other great games.

 

 

Now, if only RDR would get a nice HD remaster for NG consoles and PC...

 

I'm still bummed texture filtering didn't improve much from LG release.

I'm actually interested to see how they're going to make the video editor more relevant, now that video editing technology has come a longer way, and it's way more common to see things such as filters and effects in videos.

 

Surely they must have added something new to the thing, since they did mention that they built an entirely new editor for PC. So it doesn't sound like a copy paste job. Then again, I guess we'll see.

 

There was much more hype in Rockstar itself to bring GTA IV to PC community than it's actually is as for GTA V. And that's absurd thing, 'cause GTA V is much bigger, much better and much richer than predecessor. They gone mad!

 

Exactly, but hey when you got 40 millions, you wouldn't actually care about the other 2 millions or 1 million right ?

Me too. The LOD, while much better, is still lacking also. I can notice trees (and even cars) popping in at pretty low distances.

That's the weird thing I'm pointing out. It's really being released Jan 20th, so it's in the right spot, but it says January 26th. I just find it to be incredibly odd.

 

Actually, now that I think about it, this is a good thing. It proves that there are multiple "dates" for any given game. If it only had one date, it would use the "internal" date, or the one plastered all over the store page and not this retarded incorrect date. Given this, it's safe to say that GTA V IS set to January 27th internally, but Rockstar being the c*nts they are keeping us in the dark, have yet to set the public release date to the proper one. What a cluster f*ck. Is it really so f*cking hard for them to keep us posted and just commit to the god damn date they set? You can't even f*cking say it isn't intentional. Of course it is. They HAD to update it to January 30th when Jan 1st rolled by and the Dec 31st internal date slipped. That's when GTA V was placed in the upcoming list after games that came out on the 30th and before February 1st. Then after a day or so they set it to January 27th, evident as it is after a game released on the 26th and before the 30th. So clearly they were there, editing the f*cking Steam data for the game, yet they couldn't be f*cking arsed to update the public date. That's cold. F*cking cold.

Probably best not to get your hopes up, just check occasionally for any news. You'll be less disappointed if there isn't any.

Yeah man, I told you. Steam handles these things really oddly, I don't even know what it's based on anymore. An internal date exists, most certainly. But what else? I really don't know.

Every now and then there's an error, either way if you go to the game's page it still shows the 20th.

 

So as far as I read there's hope for friday? It's not the first time they announce something that day, so it could be.

They used to put out info around the last few days of the week.. don't ever remember one on Friday but if it makes you feel better.. we're one week closer to release and possible info, maybe next Monday?

We will not get a sniff of the system requirements until the very last minute, but the official launch announcement should, theoretically, be next week....

 

They really cannot hold it off for any longer than that.

Rockstar will only deliver Steam keys to "partner" sites. (If any, because for the looks of it only Steam will sell the Steam version of the game)

 

Any other sites will just provide the CD Key (Serials - Activation Keys) taken from CD boxes.

 

So you will have to buy the game, either new or second hand, or get the game by another way *cough* and activate it through that CD Key.
