Not mine:

Counting those days away - hoping for Rockstar to drop the specs and the pre-order page on Steam in the next few weeks or so.

No, but the only digital version of the game is going to be the Steam version. Or that is what I get from it.

Wouldn't it also require Social Club to activate, regardless of Steam integration?

Yup. No doubt you'll be unable to play without a social club account. You could literally hand someone a retail copy of the game today and chances are they couldn't do a damn thing with it.

Dear Customer,

We have unfortunately received information from the developers of GTA V that the box key, which was sold in our store, is not going to activate the game on Steam. This means that along with the key you would have to own a physical copy of the game to activate it.

I'm not surprised. Not at all.

I would imagine that this new development would indicate that the Steam version will probably not go up for sale until right before launch. Literally like the week before.

It's kind of pointless in doing so though. People that want it on Steam will wait for Steam. Even if they didn't release it on release day i'm sure people would still be stubborn enough not to buy the physical. Myself included.

Just came home from a big mall in town.

GAME stores are flooded with GTA V merchandise and propaganda, but ONLY IN CONSOLE VERSIONS. You can preorder the PC version tho, but only IF YOU KNOW IT EXISTS because there's 0 preorder boxes or announcements or whatsoever.

Surprisingly tho, In Carrefour, there were "reserve" cards which you would pay 1€ for but it would grant you to have the game in the release day for a fixed price of 40€ and the 1.000.000$ In game cash.

Why do they not have this in my Carrefour? :( we have a few in this area and I have never seen cards like those.

They were kinda hidden, at the lastest part of the "gaming" section after all the xbones and console bullsh*t.

Our Carrefour here is pretty huge is like a Walmart or something like that, it also has concert ticket sales, its own restaurant and farmacy in-market and a lot of stuff like that.

Its not really pointless from Rockstar's perspective. The longer people have to wait, the more will likely get ansy and buy the physical regardless of Steam or not. If Rockstar puts it up on Steam they wont make as much per sale. I get what you're saying. I'm not getting the physical version either and have no problem waiting for Steam, whether its up for pre-order tomorrow or not until launch, but I can see them postponing the Steam pre-order launch until as late as possible.

Yeah this is from Madrid (Spain)

Btw, I've got a question about the Steam wallet.

If for example, let's say GTA V releases on Steam for 52€.....

I have some points and money tickets for game stores ready to get Steam funds to buy the game, but there are only 20€, 50€ and 100€ cards...

Would I have to get a 50€ and a 20€ card just for a 52€ game? I know I would have the remaining 18€ available but I don't want to spend more than that.

Is there a way of getting an specific amount of cash to your Steam wallet?

Thank you :)

I'm not denying that. They're already on a short rope with the PC player base as it is leaving it any longer than a week before release would be incredibly stupid. They need to be very careful with how they do this.

The way they're dealing with 3rd party key sellers is good in my eyes. Although a huge amount of people could easily go and download a torrent which turns out to be a virus. They either buy the physical copy or risk getting infected on the day of release. Which could only lead to a lot of whining from young children.

At least here in Portugal you can pay an exact value directly from Steam using "Multibanco" (ATM).

Anyone who honestly thought the game would be SteamWorks was fooling themselves from the very start.

Not everyone thinks like that though. This strategy is a good way to get more people to pre-order or at least to purchase the game on the Rockstar Warehouse, Gamestop, Walmart, or any of the other retailers listed here, rather than on Steam where they make significantly less profit with each sold copy. Thanks for the reply :)

That was not what I meant tho, I know you can pay an exact price using credit card on Steam when buying a game.

But I meant "adding an specific amount of funds to your Steam Wallet"

Anyway, I figured out how. You can purchase Steam 20, 50 and 100€ cards at retail stores, and if you are still a bit short (for example, if the game is in between 55 and 65€), you can get adittional money into your steam wallet buying directly from them, and you can get 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100€, which gives you more flexibility and prevents you from being left with spare 5-10-15€ that you can't spend in anything you'd like or that you'd just prefer to have in your hand, cash money.

Hello all.

RockStar makes sharing information except Tuesdays or Thursdays ever?

I lost hope for this week

But in the next week we'll hear something 99%

One positive out of this somewhat negative news about G2A copies and such is that its clear that the game is on time. G2A/Kinguin would not be cancelling pre-orders for the reason that they are if the game was going to be delayed. They clearly have or will be getting the physical copies in very soon. There's really no other way they can know this without them at least being manufactured.

If they do have boxed copies, maybe one of these sites will take a picture of the reqs lol
