  1. 1. When will the preorder option on steam be available for GTA V PC?

Recommended Posts

I think this waiting for GTA is getting me depressed (seriously). I was without anything good to do in my life, and I was hopping for GTA be released on dec so I had something to do.... but nothing...

I wake up, breakfast, gtaforums, lunch, gtaforums, try to play something, get bored in 30minutes, gtaforums, dinner, gtaforums, sleep, repeat...

How about going out with some people? You forget about GTA instantly.

IS there any PC game that ever crossed 1 million sales? I doubt it. The highest I think is GTA IV. PC is not at all a contributing factor for the companies sadly. That is why they don't optimize their PC titles nor care about. They just release them to get the extra buck. :(

Yes there are. Diablo 3 sold 6 million copies in the first week and it was PC exclusive for over a year. I don't really know about any other AAA games though.

Exactly DIablo 3 is a very good example, but it's not the only one, there are a lot of games out there, that have the best version on PC and that are clearly well-optimised. For example:

-Max Payne 3 (duhh),

-Battlefield 4 (next to all the server problems etc. it did have dedicated servers compared to the consoles and some elaborate visual settings and it was very well optimised, atleast for me, i didn't have problems at all),

-CoD AW (the first CoD after Ghosts that had a very good optimization even though it sells better on consoles)

-Bioshock Infinite

-Crysis 3 (although it's a very heavy game, that doesn't mean it wasn't optimized to the point that they couldn't do much more, it is one of the most advanced games (visually etc.) for PC and ofcourse the other platforms.

-Far Cry 3

As you can see these are all triple-A titles and developers do optimise the games for PC, and they put a lot of effort into it, even though the consoles sell better etc., so by saying that the PC platform is not a contributing factor, you may be correct by implying that it doesn't sell as much as the consoles but that is relatively speaking, it still sells well and if developers don't make the mistakes of Ubisoft and other developers that don't pay attention to the PC platform, it will be selling better and better. So they do care and they do optimise them, most of you are saying such stuff because you are tired of waiting and I understand that, but please don't make such statements that aren't completely correct.

So R* is also a company that doesn't slacks in terms of optimization and development for the PC platform, remember that GTA IV was the first game for them on PC with the RAGE engine back in 2008/2009 when the game was still considered a breakthrough and such. If they didn't care about the PC platform and they saw how much it sold compared to the consoles, they wouldn't have done so much work for the PC version of Max Payne . So yeah, now back on-topic :)

BTW:

Because it seems that there are for example 50k people online in a certain game on steam, doesn't mean that the game has sold 50k units, keep in that mind....

I don't care about devs playing really.

Something will happen very soon, that's all I'm pretty sure of.

I personally am doing another playthrough of GTA SA. God damn, I thought there were autosaves after missions in this game, I guess I was wrong.

All you had to do is follow the damn train, CJ.

I started playing Max Payne 3 a few days ago, and i must say i'm quite enjoying it, i've completed the game in the past, but playing it again makes me realise how great a developer R* is. From the shoot-outs to the cutscenes to the story, it's PERFECT.

Btw if you want to get a feeling on how the shooting is in GTA V, Max Payne 3 has the same shooting system, as far as i'm informed. It has the same light-up/hitmarker system when someone has been killed and the shooting is practically the same.

I did as well, but the plane flying lessons are just making me rage so I quit.

Well that's because it's PC exclusive.

Only Steam (from April 2014):

yeah but dota 2 sold aproxx over 100ml (in game online statistics max today 102 939 759)

and this is insane result

.... HOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW? No offense, but why do people enjoy dota and league? Why aren't normal people games as successful?couldn't stop laughing at "normal people games" haha, I totally agree with you I don't like these sort of geeky/fantasy games they make no sense to me and there's no motivation to play it

the only thing I've played constantly is SAMP for nearly 6 years now (kinda stopped now), Minecraft sometimes (just for the building and stuff) and CSGO for over a year now, GTA 5 on PS3 too for a while and this is because these are actually fun for me, idk how Dota has so many players

Lol, check this out, it's about transferring your GTA Online character to PC:

Transferring to PC

What you need:

  1. A copy of Grand Theft Auto V on PC.
  2. Previous Grand Theft Auto Online character and progression data on PlayStation®3, PlayStation®4, Xbox 360 or Xbox One.
  3. A Rockstar Games Social Club account. If you do not already have a Social Club account, you will need to create a new one as part of the PC installation process. Click here for more info on creating an account.
  4. A PlayStation Network or Xbox Live account
    • If transferring from Xbox 360 or Xbox One, your Social Club account will need to be linked to the Xbox Live account used while playing GTA Online.
    • If transferring from PlayStation®3 or PlayStation®4, your Social Club account will need to be linked to the PlayStation®Network account used while playing GTA Online.
    • If you still need to link your Social Club account to your console account(s), please click here for more information.

How to transfer your previous Grand Theft Auto Online character and progression data to PC:

  1. Start Grand Theft Auto V on PC and log into the Social Club.
  2. Enter GTA Online via the Character Select Wheel or the Pause Menu.
  3. You will be given the option to transfer your previous GTA Online character and progression data, along with the opportunity to change your character’s appearance again. If you wish to complete the transfer later, you can return to this option via the Online section of the Pause Menu.
  4. Once you have chosen to transfer your previous character and progression data, the transferrable in-game money, RP and Rank of all previous characters will be displayed. These are the characters that will be transferred to PC. If you have previous character and progression data on multiple systems, you will be prompted to select one set of data. You can only transfer one set of character and progression data for your Social Club account on PC.
  5. Once the transfer has completed, you will be prompted to choose a character and enter GTA Online.

I think those 2 lines that are underlined and thus emphasized by me make us all very happy! :)

Once it goes 'gold', it doesn't mean testing is over. They work right until the last minute and should release a final release patch that will update with the pre-load, just before final release. It happened on consoles, so I do not see why we would be any different.
