IS there any PC game that ever crossed 1 million sales? I doubt it. The highest I think is GTA IV. PC is not at all a contributing factor for the companies sadly. That is why they don't optimize their PC titles nor care about. They just release them to get the extra buck. :(

Right now on the upcoming titles, I see GTA V between two games supposed to come on january 30th.

 

I really wanna know how this works... what's going on... Did they put january 30th as random hidden release date or what?

i think its steam specific/mistake

its still -early 2015 can't see nowhere that Jan 27 date

ARMA III alone sold 3 million till now if i remember correctly.

 

Edit : but yeah if you exclude exclusives I dont think many games sold this much.

Actually, they released a version for PS2 in 2003.

I think this waiting for GTA is getting me depressed (seriously). I was without anything good to do in my life, and I was hopping for GTA be released on dec so I had something to do.... but nothing...

 

I wake up, breakfast, gtaforums, lunch, gtaforums, try to play something, get bored in 30minutes, gtaforums, dinner, gtaforums, sleep, repeat...

Yup. Then people / Rockstar will cry and say "We don't sell good on PC because pirates :( The true gamers are on consoles"

 

Meanwhile, Rockstar has done 0 marketing on PC. Given 0 news or interaction to the PC playerbase and then releasing it a year and a half later, full price.

This is exactly how i feel..

 

Usually i game for like 6 hours, then i go out and do something.

No im like.. Just sitting here... Waiting.. :(

Thank the holy God that I have college. I wake up, go to college, return to home, GTA Forums, Eat, play FIFA 15, Eat again and sleep.

Mate, this is Rockstar not Ubisoft. Especially seeing how much work is apparently put into the PC version, with it not just being a port, they wouldn't just leave it there and never do it again. 0 marketing? sh*t dog, even the last motherf*cker on this planet knows that it's coming. What is their to market? Everytime a rumor comes up, everytime the game is only talked about somewhere they get free marketing. There will probably be a trailer next week or the week after and the promised screens.

Well it could be bots stress-testing the game, benchmark runs/performance tests, or testing the steam integration as a a whole.... So yeah, but they are even working in the weekend before the 6th of january, so it gives me hope that we will get some info next week.

Dota 2 and TF2, the two top games on that list, are free to play. Counter-Strike: Source has had the benefit of being included in many cheap Valve bundles and Left 4 Dead 2 was even free for a day at one time.

 

EDIT: Where does that data even come from? Valve/Steam never releases sales data, so unless they scraped every Steam profile...but even then that data wouldn't be accurate as it wouldn't count those who have private profiles.
