They are following the same pattern used for MP3 PC... Preorder, sys reqs, n screens will come either 6th or 13th.. Then some more info on 20th.. N then the game itself.

 

I am not surprised.

Yep. Same for CG gtav.R* is an old-school company...

Nope. Most likely the 27th. It's just closer to games that are on the 30th, because there's not any games coming out on the days between the 26th and 30th.

Steam changes their placeholder because it already passed the 31 December nonsense - you lose your minds

INTERNAL DATE - 27-TH JANUARY
EXTERNAL DATE - 27-TH JANUARY
OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE - 27-TH JANUARY

(I loled at some posts saying this date is a placeholder... jesus...)

THE REASON THE GAME IS PUSHED IS BECAUSE OF HEAVY MARKETING THAT CAN NOT BE CONTROLLED BY ANY OF THE EMPLOYEES AT ROCKSTAR GAMES WHO WOULD KINDLY WANT TO SPEND THESE DAYS WITH THEIR FAMILIES THAT IS WHY THERE IS NO FURTHER INFO RIGHT NOW.

Caps lock was not optional on this one sorry.

The PC version of the game was finished months ago, you are missing the fact that the nextgen versions are out,ported from the PC version (years ago the PC version has been found in the logs, no mention of nextgen, later just PS4's Orbis OS, later Microsoft for sure didn't want their biggest rival to have it as an exclusive so they payed lots of money.. Then money controlled the PC version delay as it is the biggest and best marketing move they could've made)
There is no reason to delay the game again because 1. It's finished, 2. The strategy is over

The updates you're seeing on steamdb page is just testing (obviously) because they have nothing to do (again, the PC version is finished), and that's a good thing - there's never enough testing, the game will be in a better state at launch though.

How are you going to even believe that when its clearly set to the 30th? It appears in the order AFTER a game that comes out on the 30th and appears BEFORE a game that launches on the 31st. That sounds pretty f*cking clear to me that its internally set to the 30th.

There's nothing clear about this situation, though. It's guesswork. We don't have access to the game's store page format.

 

Plus, Steam sorts games that are close to eachother in a very odd fashion. Nothing is clear.

 

There's also the fact that they have no reason to delay the Steam release for a mere 3 days. Not nearly enough time to get people to change their minds and buy from the R* Warehouse, instead of the Steam Store. If they were to delay it on Steam, they're going to do it for longer than a few days.

 

Makes no sense.

Except we do know how the steam upcoming list works. It literally lists games in order of release date using the exact internal date the developers gave their game. It has no other hidden function, that is it.

 

If a game is listed before another, it's because its release date is ahead of the latter. That is all. GTA V originally had a Dec 31 2014 internal release date, hence why people would report seeing the release date randomly change to Dec 2014. Because Rockstar was either too lazy or not confident enough to commit to Jan 27th, to give the game a proper public and internal release date.

 

Well Dec 31st came and went and now they were forced to put in a new date. That date is Jan 30th 2015. Why they did this is beyond me, but one thing is for sure. These f*ckers really do love jerking us PC players around. They probably get a kick out of our rage posts.
