  1. 1. When will the preorder option on steam be available for GTA V PC?

Pretty sure Rockstar Torronto is leading on GTA V PC port right now.

Yeah. Pretty bad.

I just beat the game again. Did the Deal ending this time on a separate save. Had to get Fraps to tank my framerate so I could get a chance at beating the final mission, because I couldn't pull myself up onto Jacob's chopper at 60 FPS.

I'll be the first to defend Toronto and say that IV was 6 years ago. That people should be looking towards the future, but that doesn't excuse how sh*t the PC version really is. Over half a decade later.

It feels like the Toronto team tried really hard. All the graphics options are there. Some neat extra features like Independence FM and the video editor. it's great stuff. But in the end, they just couldn't optimize the game properly, if at all. Maybe due to inexperience, maybe due to being rushed. Most likely both.

Gonna have to go replay Max Payne 3 on Old School to recover from this sh*t.

Please, consider that any game should be in gold status minimum 1 month before release, to burn discs, boxes, etc. It isn't a two days, it's longer process. So the game is finished or now they're minor fixes only for release or first day patch.

Rockstar Vancouver were responsible for Max Payne 3, and I think the PC version of it too.
Since they moved with Toronto after MP3.. they might work on the PC version of GTA V.

Thats exactly what I thought right now while I'm in the train back home..

They need.to finish the game before christmas.. Else they would have only 1 or 2 weeks.. The last week's and days are required for the disc copys and all.

So we can expect many updates until Christmas I think :)

It fits with my point that the suits have given them until the Christmas holidays. That's the deadline....

Could be true yes.

But I don't think that this will be a big problem 'cause they are already testing and updating the steam build.. All other "Big" work was probably done before in an internal non steam build.

Steam testing is probably going to continue even after the game goes gold. Additional Steam integration testing and last minute checks never hurt. Ubisoft has even done this with Unity. There were 3-10 people playing the game just a week or so before release. Not that it helped ACU's launch, but still.

It was 6 years ago, and quad-cores were pretty much a new thing back then.

It's not easy optimizing a software for some new kind of hardware you know so little about.

Not to mention the new RAGE engine. The only studio that had experience with RAGE back then was San Diego, right? Didn't they make that Table Tennis game? They also developed RAGE, if I'm not mistaken.

Any predictions on next newswire posts?

I think it'll be something like this:

- An other stupid crew/jobs post (this week)

- Christmas Event For PS4/Xone (Beginning of next week)

- Heists Announcement (close to christmas)

- PC Screenshots (First days of january)

- PC Launch Trailer (only PC Trailer they'll do) (around 20th of January)

- Video Editor Video (After Release)

Thats also right.. I'm also think that we will get patches maybe already on the release too.. But they need a good working disc version.

Yes it would be nice to see 4 or even more players in gta v before the actual release :D

- OMFG FINALLY R* U DA BESZT I LUV U FOR EVAAA

Give them a break. They're generous enough to spend more time developing for PC (and I'm 100% sure it'll be great, judging from PS4 and X1 version).

There's no stopping the delay doomsaying. Especially when dealing with people who "predicted" the first delay. They're all validated now. In their own eyes, at least. Like that Von_Von guy.

Keep it up with the bandwagon bollocks. Examples include: "everything is sh*t", "Cockstar hates us", "they'll delay it and milk the consoles", etc...

You having to downsample to mask the lack of Anti Aliasing clearly means that's not quite true though.

They shouldn't even do that kind of sh*t here, there's a proper place.

Also for Le

Kinda forgot about that.

Still, you don't see any other open world games giving you stuff like vehicle density sliders (not a graphics option, but helps with performance for some). You do see plenty of other games giving you some basic AA options, though. So that's definitely quite the oversight on Toronto's part.

What's "Le" by the way?

I was going to say something about Rockstar Leeds' first and only PC port being LA Noire being relatively decent for what it was despite the sun flares lighting effect screwing up at dusk but got distracted and posted the post before double checking it.
