I think everyone needs to realise that Rockstar are going to take Christmas off work. They'll probably be gone from the 24th December - 3rd of January.

Sure because their management gives a crap about the dev's holidays when there is a ton of bugs to fix for the new console release.

But that is what they're busy with now for a while.

 

 

Do not forget Heists on consoles.... There's no reason to assume they are coming this month, plus none of the dataminers have found much, beyond the most obvious of leaks. No one has poked their head above the parapet and commited to the idea of Heists before Christmas as well.

 

I still think they'll launch Heists on PC release day, to keep the console boys as happy as us.

it's very likely game will be steam only (steam keys in retail copies) because its good way to supporting the game for R*

We're pretty much in the forties now, guys. Not that long left, in perspective. Man I can't wait to dive back into that world.

Answering the poll: I think preorders will be available around the end of december, if the heists are announced (the release date) before that.

If the heists are not announced in december i expect the reveal in the first days on january and steam preorder in the second week of the same month.

 

I really think they won't show anything about the PC version before the heists.

By the way i think that's really stupid.

 

Have you noticed that all the GTA V Next Gen hype has already gone?

I haven't heard anything about the game in at least 2 weeks.

It would be the perfect moment to show something about the PC release.

 

By the way today i was playing AC Unity (Boring game, lots of bugs), but one thing i have to say is that with nvidia (and maxed out) the graphics look gorgeous!

I just imagined how GTA V will be on appropriate configurations.

1080p, 4X antialiasing, 60 fps (though i'll only play at 60fps if stable. otherwise i'll lock to 30 and increase AA).

For GTA V PC i'd like to see something like AC Unity for the PC(let me explain).

The game looks like the PS4/Xone version, but there are many little things (like ambient occlusion, antialiasing, soft shadows ecc..) which makes everything better.

I have no problems at all if the game's gonna look exactly like PS4 (But with optional better resolution/antialiasing/draw distance), but i'd like some subtle changes aswell.

Anyway i have noticed that the thing that varies the most between maxed out PC release of a game and the current-gen console counterpart is mainly the illumination.

Many games (at least to my eye) look like they are the same but with better illumination.

 

Last thing, are you guys starting to feel the excitement?

I don't know why, but after years of wait time is finally flowing really fast! Almost a month has passed from the Current-Gen release, and it just seems like yesterday.

Oh man, i'm sure that when we hit january it'll be really easy to wait.

 

The thing i really hope (even more than good optimization) is that there won 't be any fatal error preventing the game to start.

I remember the nightmare with GTA IV.

Got it for christmas, super excited and me (and many players) had a fatal error preventing the game to start. The first patch addressed it, but i couldn't play properly until the third patch, in march.

Imagine waiting years for a game, avoiding spoilers for 6 months (because of the console release) and then having to wait to play the game, which you actually own and stares at you from the library.

 

Fingers crossed.

 

Small OT: If i'll have to wait this long for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC, i'll just go with PS4.

The gap will surely be smaller than old gen GTAV-PC.

I don't want to endure such a painful experience for at least a couple of years (Of course i'll wait for GTA VI on PC)

They have released the latest 2 games on PC WITHOUT GFWL.

Implementing it in GTA V (their most profitable franchise) would be suicide.

Besides, GFWL is rubbish...

Even though it reminds me of the good (mostly laggy) times playing GTA IV Multiplayer, i still think it should be closed down already.

It barely works, it is easily crackable, it often has issues with game keys, sometimes it doesn't load at all and it has a terrible interface which reeks with age...

It reminds me of the horrible/glossy/disorganised inferface of windows vista.

Microsoft has come a long way since then, but Vista (and GFWL) surely have been its dark ages.

 

Remember all the "Microsoft Points" bulls**t? They did the math so that you always ended up buying more points than you need for a product, but not enough to buy the other one.

For example the Fallout 3 DLCs...whatever you did you always ended up being able to purchase certain amounts of points, often spending more money than you had to...

And let's not mention the fact that GTA IV forced to have GFWL (online) to save the game....thank god mods solved that.
