Okay what i dont understand is this

Be Jan 27th, kids on PC say Mum & Dad i want GTA V on PC.

I believe that a kid can't afford a PC gamer and they already have their NG consoles that will run the game so much better than their average white PCs, so it's unlogical what you said unless their parents are gamers too.

I'd also be quite happy if I had PS4 like graphics with perhaps a bit better AA, draw distance and constant 60 fps in 1080p

If game is optimized well it might happen :)

All of my brothers friends (around 12-14) have their parents wrapped around their little fingers.. Basically the parents are their slaves. It's sad but true. Plus even if it wasn't kids, Christmas isn't just for kids, I only get paid $8.02 an hour and have to get my family presents. It's not like i can go spending $89.99 32-33 days after christmas

"Sorry but Christmas was only a month ago, and thats a $60-89.99 game (depending on where you live)

Rockstar loses sales

Release it before Christmas

"GTA V on PC pls Santa"

You get it as a Christmas present, increasing sales.

Basic logic Rockstar..

You're close, but not quite.

• Be adult with nice gaming PC

• Have lots of people you have to buy Christmas gifts for

• January comes around

• Broke, need to start saving up again

• Rockstar: "HUR HUR HUR HERE YA GO PC WE KNOW THAT MOST PEOPLE ARE REELING FROM CHRISTMAS BUT HERE'S YOUR GAME!"

• *time goes on with sh*tty PC sales*

• Rockstar: "Grand Theft Auto 5 is selling horrible on PC. This is why we don't like you guys and have decided not to sell our games on PC in the future."

It's like they really want PC to fail hard so they have an excuse not to support it in the future. Why else make an entire platform of fans wait over 1.5 years and suffer through TWO generations of console releases and THEN SOME.

I would say just because of the ridiculous and un-realistic date of release. I am going to say the game will be released in December. The sales will be bad in January because it's AFTER Christmas. From a business perspective it's a bad move. I vote December.

Like they even need amazing sales on PC. 3 days and 1 billion dollars a full generation ago.

As money grabbing as you're making R* out to be I'm sure they won't cry if PC sales go well or not.

Not 'too long' to go...

I don't think they need an excuse for this, and if they did their excuse would have been the past GTA titles on PC. none of them sold more than 1 million copies. they're gonna release GTA for PC every time don't worry about, but treating their customers right is the thing that can't be guaranteed. I think with the new gen architecture being similar to PC this gap between PC release and consoles on next GTA titles will be closed in the future. i hope.

i dont see gap change in future, just because pc games bit cheaper than console games it's simple make money/do business for publishers is primary task

I really hope this game sells at least 30% of PS4 and Xbox One numbers combined on PC.

Perhaps 1 million units sold in 2 days? Please.

Let's be honest. The next gen versions ARE the pc version just slightly watered down.

This implies that the pc version is done and just sitting around waiting to be released. And yet they still require us to wait after the consoles come out. How does that make any sense? Really?

The gap will never close because it is an artificial one inhibited by Rockstar themselves. Even on a franchise that was 100% PC, Max Payne, we still had to wait for consoles to get our version. And the only reason the gap was so small there is because they forecasted that Max Payne was not a high selling console series and they were right.

GTA is a whole different beast. 1 billion dollars in 3 days on consoles alone versus oh boy like 1 million sales after a few years on pc. It's a given why they do what they do but it still it sh*tty.

2, 9 or even 16 December release would make so much sense...

Ugh, 2 In-Game by the way

https://steamdb.info/app/271590/history/

It would make as much sense as R* stopping being greedy and breaking their contracts with $ony and m$ to show some respect for their PC fanbase at least for once...

Yes, a december release would be absolutely logical but you know, it's Rockstar, if you are a pc gamer you simply can't expect anything good from them.

A december release for GTA V on PC is impossible.

Its christmas time, that means that will be a lot of GTA V consoles bundles to sell.

Also, this month is the black friday, and a lot of deals include gta v with PS4 or Xbox one.

If you don't count digital sales which are 92% of PC sales, yeah most of them didn't sell more than 1 million.

There's a big difference between selling a game PC and consoles.

On consoles, you need to sell the most you can on Day 1, then the first 1-2 weeks, before the sales really dies down.

PC sales stay more constant throughout the year, since you don't have to deal with the hassle of finding the game months after its release and you can't buy it second hand.

This.

Still counting only boxed sales is a joke that has gone on long enough.

Here's a interesting fact where some people of you said that the players are just bots or scripts to make the game run, here's some proof that they're actual devs and not some script that's running.

http://steamcommunity.com/app/225540/discussions/0/617319460765764496/

Those 2 are JC3 devs and they confirm what's being shown in the steamdb are developers who are playtesting, which means the same thing for V.

The average amount of devs playing V is increasing quite a lot, it's hitting 3 more often. Now that the next-gen versions are ready, we'll probably see a 4th or more element very soon.

It has sold 820,000 units till now, not counting the episodes from liberty city.

I hope there is preload on steam if you preordered it. It would take years with my dl speeds. 3901331920.png

I usually download with 200-250kb/s. I would love to have your speed. Anybody know how long it would take me to download it? I'm thinking roughly 2-3 days days depending on size, is that correct? I think I'm just gonna get a physical copy.

This Mb/s thing is still pretty confusing to me. Also speedtest isn't very accurate I think.

The only place I had accurate results was on http://testmy.net/

IMdLnwe.png

There's this bogus "3.2Mbps" number, and the accurate result between parenthesis "397kB/s". Which is the speed I actually get when downloading from Steam.

To this day I still don't get what's the difference if there's any between Kbps and mB/s and why I get two numbers so different.

Anyway, I think I'll be going to my cousin's house when pre-load goes live.

Should be done in 2h-3h tops with his (actual) 7MB/s connection.

Mb = Megabit

MB = Megabyte

So both numbers are right, 3,2 Mb/s equal to about 400 kB/s
