That's because ACU is again another extremely bad optimized ubisoft game, from what i've heard it run like sh*t even on console, with major pop up problems and massive frame drops. Hopefully this won't be the case with GTA V PC.

Yes, in steam customers reviews says that port is awful. Not a surprise, Ubi sucks

Current gen or new gen.

Damn, will be amazing when we see a GTA V trailer that only says "coming for PC"

04b0b-02052154-a5d0-439e-9f4f-cf4983d209

Its a trailer and it only shows "Coming To PC".. The only problem here is its not a trailer recorded on PC.. xD

I hope there is preload on steam if you preordered it. It would take years with my dl speeds. 3901331920.png

In a worst case scenario, where the game is roughly 65GB big, it would take you about 14 hours to download if your download speed was constantly 10Mb/s.

You should be able to finish the download even if Rockstar chooses to start the pre-load just one day before release :)

I'm my country that's considered a lot of speed...

Just let it pre-loading at night time =)

EDIT: I'm a lucky bastard who got the best service in my country, about 35 Megabits.

In my country that's considered an astronomical speed, we have 5mb/s tops with 300 ping.

I have 60Mb/s. But Steam doesn't go over 7Mb/s for some reason.

Because 60Mb/s actually equal to about 7MB/s.

i think it's strange that steam is still showing "early 2015".

I don't. Let's think about it. That date is set by the game developer right? This was already confirmed by an indie developer on reddit I believe. And these entries don't just happen on their own, someone at Rockstar put that in there. And I also had confirmed personally, to me, by another developer with his own game on steam, that he is able to update the entire store page and data of his game at will 24/7.

This means:

1) Rockstar intentionally put up Early 2015 for the release date

2) They could have changed it to reflect January 27th at any time, but choose not to

So the question is then, why? Why leave it like that?

Well I've said it before and I still stand behind my theory that they are waiting to see how the new version sells on consoles before deciding when to pull the trigger. They have analysts that do number crunching and determine how many potential customers there are on the consoles and how long the game will continue to sell on consoles if they didn't release it on pc.

Had there been say double the number of next gen console owners we wouldn't be seeing V on PC until likely March or later. But their initial estimates assume sales to dry up around January and then they can release it on PC to get maximim profits for the fiscal year.

They will wait out a couple months of console sales and determine from there what to do. My expectation is that it will sell above their analyst's calculations and pc will be pushed back again at least a month or more.

Time will tell if I'm right, and Lord knows I don't want to be.

But then the question is: why does they put 27th January in the Trailers on steam but write Early 2015 on the store page?

This "Early 2015"(why not January 2015?) is strange and there must be some reason why its not 27th january(and im sure its not something like: fu*k my keyboards "7" key is not working so im post early 2014 :p ). They changed date "Fall" to "Early" after Newswire post, where was clearly: PC release 27th.
I can think 3 likely reasons:
1) Rockstar isnt sure they release it 27th january(but then why they give exact release date to PC in Newswire and not "Early 2015"?)
2) Steam is very popular and they hope some people look store page and decide buy NG console version, "early 2014" seems more further than 27th january(but again why give exact date?)
3) There is nothing special, they just added "Early 2015" and its not wrong because game is released 27th january and it is early 2015(not impossible but unlikely)

I moved to my own apartment in an other city, to study.

I only have WI-Fi, given FOR FREE by the owner (with the possibility of buying my own Internet plan and router)

and supposedly have to share it with 4 other people (apartments) (there's like 2 other right now)

but they never use any of the bandwitch heh! And it's all free!

It's double my connection at home so.. yeah, it'll still take a lot of time to pre-load the game, expect if

retails copies work on Steam, then I'll save myself some GB :p

I'm totally not abusing though.

If the current gen sales go off the roof then you can kiss january goodbye .............nah not really.

Tho this came up,regarding the steam thing...

That is because jan 27 is not set in stone. Its a "placeholder". We are still dealing with timeframes. So its on jan 27 or somewhere around that date.

January 27th is still the release date. But it's subject to change.

Btw you guys have some pretty fast speeds there, good thing that r will be doing an early preload so people with sh*tty speeds can catch up,personaly im stuck for now with this sh*tty slow ass usb stick, lol.

From where you took that quote? Rockstar said that, or I just missed some posts.

God, please. Not another delay :( .

Yep. All these companies are hella greedy, the main difference is Rockstar have perfected their ability to milk their fans to the point it's like a science for them. They are the absolute worst at it and know the best strategies to maximize profits.

Definitively, this isn't the R* situation, they milk the consoles versions first, then they release an half-assed PC port to their PC fanbase *cof GTA IV*.

I don't believe GTA V PC will be a bad port, but R* is being a "bad sport" with their PC fanbase for a long time, we're waiting for more 2 months to play a game that we should be playing within 7 days if it wasn't for the greed from R*. The only differencial that the PC version of GTA V will have from the NG consoles versions is the video editor, the NG consoles versions is a port made from the PC version of GTA V. GTA V would have more trees if it wasn't by the consoles versions.

Silver I have two questions for you.

Do you think there is a possibility of the game releasing before 2015? Yes or no and why.

Do you think there is a possibility of the game being delayed further into 2015? Yes or no and why.

I honestly don't know.

I mean I started thinking about a surprise earlier release by an idea I had. And idea that would make Rockstar look amazing again for the PC comunity and at the same time a stunning marketing stunt which would give them lots of benefits. But was just that an idea. But then I saw that "STEAM bug" still showing 2014, but the most odd thing was the fact that instead of "Fall 2014" as they had before it actually mentions the month. And if we follow all the rumors that were going around all of them mentioned October or November but never December.

In the meantime it was also discovered that V isn't the only case and other games that don't have any official releases, just a time frame like "Q1 2015" when they get this "bug" they show specific dates, some of them with day and year. So this makes me wonder if this bug isn't actually showing the internal schedule the devs have inside the STEAM database. Has we've seen with these "testers" they change the logs of the files, the information, the numbers of the versions, so most likely they also set the dates for the STEAM release.

So what if they have two different dates, the official working as a dummy and an internal that is the actual scheduled date?

I starte dto think this because I understand R* wanting to release consoles away for the PC, if the info is true someone with a console and a PC would most likley only pick one of the games for one platform and stick to it. On the other hand of a console player buys the game now and later see the advatadges of the PC version, he might buy it again. So one costumer can buy the game 1, 2 and even 3 times in case he had the LG version, a CG console and a PC, in some cases it could be even more.

But doesn't make sense to release the PC version after christmas, because based in my experience with online games and knowing that people tend to spend more during this season, it would make perfect sense to release all versions on Christmas and at the same time updating the GTAO with an interesting update with timed items. So forgetting those who already played the game and only thinking about the PC players that never played the game they would be confronted with some exclusive times items that they have to get otherwise they'll lose their chance. So they have 2 options, play like mad to make the needed millions or and which is the most common thing in Christmas events... spend real money and in this case Shark Cards.

So by releasing the consoles version first and lying about the PC version (wouldn't be the first time or the second... remember how they've done things since 2011), those with consoles will run to the store next week and get the game, after a week or two, byt the end of November, begginging od December they can say the PC version is also coming in some weeks, that they worked very hard against the clock to make it happen because they love the PC community (that would be the stunt to get PC players respect back).

So this would be benefitial to everyone, CG consoles with their game making both $ONY and M$ happy with the extra consoles sales, PC with their game, hardware manufacteurs like NVidia, AMD, Intel would see their sales rising too, mostly because of V, and R* and T2 would make a ton of money from all of this.

But the fact that all of this would make perfect sense and matches the facts, doesn't mean that this is what R* thinks or that they'll do. But the January date is very odd to me and doesn't make much sense in financial terms. So a delay is also possible, but very unlikely.

And above all of this there is also anothe important fact that is history, Rockstar always release the PC version and almost every GTA in the same time frame, October - December and with V also by the end of Summer. They never released a GTA game in January.

what about your contact, silver? now that ash is gone and all, you're the only one left with an "inside source". any news or just silence? i think it's strange that steam is still showing "early 2015".

The last talk we had and that I posted here was that the game release was scheduled for a release in the end of October/ Middle of November but that the ast word was from R* NYC. And I think it remains the same, Toronto have the game ready but I was told online had some issues... but I doubt that, theyve been testng the game 24/7 and this is what we know now.

I don't know Ash contact at Leeds, he was the one who gave me the info from them.
