Preorder month

  1. 1. When will the preorder option on steam be available for GTA V PC?

So you do prefer a badly optimized version which releases alongside other versions, instead of a greatly optimized which releases 2 months later? That's...well...I won't even bother saying it.

f*cking face palm.....not this bullsh*t sh*t again.

you're simply dumb or incredibly gullible if you believe the current PC delay has anything to do with optimization or "extra development time" as rockstar put it. it's been covered to death in here, read some of previous posts to understand why....

So you think I'm new here + dumb...mhm ok... The development for the PC version has been finished a long time ago according to some insiders in this forum. There's something that has been bothering me, namly the fact that they, R*, keep showing up on the steamdb page. That either means that they're still working on the game as they weren't satisfied by it's performance or they're just fooling everyone which makes no sense at all. I'll stick to the first.

Only one. R dont care PC gamers

If they didn't care, they probably wouldn't even be releasing a PC release.

Exactly this.

If they cared, we would have already been playing GTA V on PC for months now.

That's not about caring or not, that's just business.
They need to sell as much console copies as possible, and they're not going to sit on it just to make you feel better.
That's the main reason PC version is delayed.
Same thing for the trailers:
- They need to make the general public forget about the PC version coming out.
- They know PC gamers don't need 5000 trailers a week, they keep informed by themselves.
I know I'm buying the game and I didn't care for any of its trailers since the one with the Stevie Wonder song back in 2012.
(Well I did like the FPS view trailer too, but that's it)

So you're telling me there's always something that can be altered or fixed in a game? This is revolutionary! Completely unheard of!

I have read my post again, not once but a several times and I don't see myself implying that this is something revolutionary lol. Sometimes I ask myself how people come up with such assumptions/conclusions, if there's nothing pointing towards it. Today has been a weird day on this forums lol, mad members everywhere. :panic:

Its not buisnes its greediness.

You can believe that the delay is to polish the game but we all know that is 100% greedines.

Im sure that TK2 and R made an agreement with Sony and Microsoft.

Most likely just Sony and Microsoft is riding the wave. But same effect of bullsh*t to pc players.

"polish"

I honestly believe they had no intention of releasing PC with the console versions.

1) They don't want the superior PC version to cripple their sales.

2) The PC version was finished first. Why? Because if the PC version supports up to 4K resolutions that means they started out with 4K textures and reduced them to shat out the XBOX 360 and PS3 versions. Then they slightly updated the textures to a higher resolution for PS4/XBONE.

3) What kind of f*cking sense would it make to produce that low quality version for PS3/360 then make a 2nd version for PS4/XBONE, and THEN a final version for PC?

I still have some hope of the PC version in December because who are we kidding here. Everyone is going to be BROKE in January and that's a piss poor time to buy a game.

That's what I'm thinking. There were probably a few studios involved. All the major ones, I'm sure. North, Toronto and Leeds. Makes the most sense. North, because they make the core GTA games. Toronto, because they worked on the PC versions of GTA IV, EFLC and Max Payne 3. Leeds, because of their work on LA Noire's PC version.

It's an outsider perspective. I may be completely off base. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Although I do hope Toronto is responsible for the PC version, due to their (Vancouver's) work on Max Payne 3, and their old "learning experience" with IV/EFLC.

Guessing? I told you exactly that.

The PC version was made by Rockstar Toronto, reason why they merged with Vancouver which had the expertize from Max Payne 3. Rockstar Leeds helped North and Toronto in both versions, so technically they were like the link between both divisions.

Maybe because of this division, along the fact that they want to milk consoles ... again, they had to sperate PC from the rest. Specially because I bet the PC version will distinguish from consoles, reason why it wouldn't be a good idea to promote both at the same time... we had a recent case with the promotion of AC Unity, and how different some of the videos were from each other and how it actually looks like on consoles.

They also have a statement saying "PC screens available soon", so that means they'll be very different and maybe not only because of the 4K possibility, a very small part of the PC community is able to play games at that resolution right now. Although with the new NVIDIA feature that might have a twist.

Well at least next week we'll be able to finally see what they've been hiding from us and see how exactly the game runs on consoles. One thing is what they say, the other thing is how it actually is.

If Rockstar doesn't undress the Grinch suit, we still have at least 76 days ahead. :sui:

Silver I have two questions for you.

Do you think there is a possibility of the game releasing before 2015? Yes or no and why.

Do you think there is a possibility of the game being delayed further into 2015? Yes or no and why.

what about your contact, silver? now that ash is gone and all, you're the only one left with an "inside source". any news or just silence? i think it's strange that steam is still showing "early 2015".

i think it's strange that steam is still showing "early 2015".

I don't. Let's think about it. That date is set by the game developer right? This was already confirmed by an indie developer on reddit I believe. And these entries don't just happen on their own, someone at Rockstar put that in there. And I also had confirmed personally, to me, by another developer with his own game on steam, that he is able to update the entire store page and data of his game at will 24/7.

This means:

1) Rockstar intentionally put up Early 2015 for the release date

2) They could have changed it to reflect January 27th at any time, but choose not to

So the question is then, why? Why leave it like that?

Well I've said it before and I still stand behind my theory that they are waiting to see how the new version sells on consoles before deciding when to pull the trigger. They have analysts that do number crunching and determine how many potential customers there are on the consoles and how long the game will continue to sell on consoles if they didn't release it on pc.

Had there been say double the number of next gen console owners we wouldn't be seeing V on PC until likely March or later. But their initial estimates assume sales to dry up around January and then they can release it on PC to get maximim profits for the fiscal year.

They will wait out a couple months of console sales and determine from there what to do. My expectation is that it will sell above their analyst's calculations and pc will be pushed back again at least a month or more.

Time will tell if I'm right, and Lord knows I don't want to be.

I just f*cking love how in all these recent release material, they couldn't even be f*cking bothered to include at the very end "... oh yeah it's coming out for that horrible platform we hate, PC, as well." THEY COULDN'T EVEN DO THAT!

Truly, they don't give a f*ck about us. Expect another horrible game on PC from Rockstar with no support or f*cks given.

don't mind me just quoting the truth

But then the question is: why does they put 27th January in the Trailers on steam but write Early 2015 on the store page?

Rockstar intentionally used specific words to fool people into thinking they wouldn't be making a next gen and pc release of V, but were vague enough that they could still do it and not be liars.

Maybe this discrepancy is playing the same role as "we have no information about that". Never doubt the shadiness to their business tactics.

They're going to make the PC version a seperate platform for their release, it makes sense because they'll publish their trailer of a video editor and whatnot.

GTA V Had already alpha test (old gen)

Beta test is coming soon (NG).

:D

nice joke but its not so funny anymore, this game will be available only for guys who have modern pc

look at this ACU game. Just random guy have this RIG- 2x gtx 770 with 4bg video for both,8350 (Overclock 4.6 ghz)

and he don't get a constant 60 FPS (with FXAA)

GTA V PC sys demands will be worse for 10 times

looks like we get suck big dick from R* god dammit!

That's because ACU is again another extremely bad optimized ubisoft game, from what i've heard it run like sh*t even on console, with major pop up problems and massive frame drops. Hopefully this won't be the case with GTA V PC.
