  1. 1. When will the preorder option on steam be available for GTA V PC?

Recommended Posts

Now, let's get this back on track, shall we?

The game will be released at december according to a bug on the steam page.

here's a take-two (publisher) IP portfolio that was leaked by a former rockstar employee (kudos to S1LV3R_W0LF for saving it). if you read through it, you can see that gta v was originally slated for a 2010 release, just look at how many years it got pushed back.

If you seriously believe that was ever a real document, I've got a bridge to sell you.

Greetings fellow PC GAMERS! :)

It's been a while since i posted something, but this whole Next-Gen-Only "extravaganza" only made me even more pissed off and depressed.

I recently eradicated my possible spoiler menace (some of you might recall), and so i am a bit calmer about the wait.

Still pissed off about the sub-standard treatment we pc players get, though.

Anyway i have to say i'm amazed by the attention to detail of this edition of the game!

What makes Rockstar Games a great developer (assholes, but great at developing) is the attention to detail!

One thing that left me speachless, for example, is how much of an improvement such a small and insignificant thing as a cactus had, with these last versions.

Just look at it!

2dade68.jpg

Man...i have never seen such an attention to detail!

By The Way i have to say something...a little revenge thowards the next gen consoles.

The aliasing looks much worse than the latest promotional screenshots.

I knew that it wasn't possible for the Current Gen consoles to render this game at 1080 with such a level of antialiasing (8x or more).

I currently own nvidia, but i'm an understanding gamer and i strongly hope GTA V won't feature any benefits thowards a particular brand of GPUs (Nvidia or AMD).

Even when games have a partnership with nvidia (which i own) i'm pissed off.

Anyway i really hope they'll show a PC trailer very very soon! maybe early december...it would be lovely.

And let's all hope they won't delay the game again...i don't know why, but i'm still afraid that might happen.

In the end GTA V PC is going to be so epic! It'll be worth the wait! Every single penny spent on it!!! Can't wait!!

I think the rough month is going to be between 18th Nov and 18 Dec.

During the latter part of december people are usually busy with christmas matters and during january the true hype starts (at least for me january will be no problem).

Oh, by the way.

My brother told me that Current/Gen-PC will have some additional MISSIONS (real missions). is that true? (maybe i've missed some news)

I'm not talking about the returning players bonus.

Cheers.

F*cking sigh.

They couldn't even be bothered to upload the screenshots or change the f*cking release date to say January 27th. I wouldn't be surprised for a f*cking minute if the release date slips and falls back again.

I have already made that decision.

I should have been more clear, what I meant to say is that GTA on PC might get delayed again.

Whats wrong with a trailer captured on a console in a place thats exclusively for pc? Would you rather the Steam page to be empty? These next gen consoles screenshots looks awesome and beautiful, glorious 1080p, probably no difference to the PC screenshots..

Riiight because 4K is the same as 1080p...

They said pc supported 4K at maybe 60fps and you are asking me what is wrong with showing console content in a pc place?, i mean really?

Everytime you write something i don't know if laugh or cry, because of the amount of nonsense you write. Just stop this deceit that you are a Pc gamer and go back to the GTA V section for consoles, you will gain nothing by lying like this, only people laughing at you. It's okey that you are a console gamer.

Seriously dude, just stop the trolling.

clearly you know nothing surrounding the background of that image.

this stuff is ancient history now and totally off topic, but just to give you a little background info; that image was posted by "Rockstar_V", a guy who claimed to be a former rockstar employee that parted ways with the company in october 2011. he made 67 posts in this forum before being banned and all but one his posts were deleted from this forum.

he said several things that no one outside of rockstars employees could have possibly known at the time. the most significant being his mention of gta v having multiple protagonists of which he even named as "michael, trevor and albert". he said this several months before rockstar announced any of this information. no one in the general public could have known this. he also said the game would take place solely in los santos with a surrounding country side and desert months before rockstar's official news. all of his posts, save one, were completely scrapped from existence.

here's his only remaining post:

even if he wasn't a former employee, there's absolutely no chance he didn't receive that info from someone who did work there. there's no way anyone could pick three names at random out of the amount of possible names and come out with 2 out of 3 correct (franklin was initially called albert during earlier stages of the game before they changed it most likely) or come up with three protagonist simply from watching the reveal trailer which only showed one - michael.

the odds of that happening are so small that it removes all doubt about his claims or posts. the guy was 100% legit and there is nothing in that take-two portfolio that indicates it's fake. but whatever, that stuff is so old and it's completely irrelevant now. the only reason i brought it up in my previous post was because it helped substantiate the points i was making.

seriously, why are you even in this section? all of your posts make it abundantly clear that you're a console user and anti-PC, with all your fanboysim and such. so again i ask you, why are you here? to troll us? to aggravate us?

the ps4/xb1 are outdated and weak. and the only reason you're gong to be able to enjoy a so called "next-gen" version of gta v is solely because of the PC.

the PC version will look superior to the console versions, that's a given.

also, lol at "glorious 1080p". reaching 1080p is a milestone for console gamers. PC users have been playing games at that resolution since the beginning of the last generation and many PC enthusiast view 1080p as a low or sub-par resolution. bragging or getting overly excited about being able to play a game at 1080p in 2014 is something i find to be hilarious.

but i suppose it's something to get excited about when the platform you game on typically struggles to output 1080p with reduced settings even at 30fps.

Interesting that you supposedly have the true back-story of what happened, yet you've only been a member since earlier this year. It really doesn't matter who released it...

So many inconsistencies and things blatantly wrong with it. Just some:

Mafia 2 then Mafia 3 the next year? Uh no.

Midnight Club 5 the next year after LA? Rockstar gutted most of the MCLA team at SD just after LA released.

Mods and Rockers was scrapped years before this and Toronto wouldn't have had enough employees at this point to work on their own AAA game.

GTA Los Santos Stories? Leeds had their plate full with Chinatown Wars and Beaterator - which is another point, Beaterator isn't even listed.

Agent, GTAV and working on an MMO in the same exact year by the same studio? Rockstar is stupid with internal release dates but not that idiotic.

or so you think...

i've been visiting this forum for a long time, either posting or lurking. i was inexplicably banned for over a year by one of the admins in here (whom i believe works for rockstar) during my last stay. but yeah, it doesn't matter.

I honestly can't wait for the PC version of GTA V, I just hope that it's optimised and that there are some PC centric trailer/footage and screenshots released sometime next month. I think they will focus on the PC version once the ps4/xbone versions are released.

It'll be optimized. A dream come true would be to have it optimized as good as Mafia 2 was. It's an amazing looking game (for it's time and even today, i dare to say) and yet it ran flawleslly on my 7550HD AMD card, without physx enabled. How i've switched to a GTX 750 ti and i have everything maxed out, and yet no frame drop or anything! if rockstar manages to optimized it as well as 2k did for mafia i will literally live next to my pc

Look at how Max Payne 3 is optimized and it'll give you an idea on how it'll be on V.

Optimized? What does optimized even really mean in the context of how a game performs? Does it mean just the framework and engine code? Does it mean map design and asset quality? Does it mean limiting certain graphics effects that would otherwise butcher every PC setup out there?

When saying Max Payne 3 was really well optimized, and thus this means GTA V will be too, do you guys even realize that you're comparing two massively different games, by design massively different? I mean this is like comparing Call of Duty to Skyrim here. One game is a corridor shooter with extremely tight constraints on what the player can do and see at any given time, versus a completely free open world game where who knows what could happen and be on screen at any given time. There's a reason these corridor shooter games can consistently target 60 fps and still look passingly good enough to the console fanboys. Because in a corridor shooter you ARE allowed to push graphics a bit higher and still keep frame-rates high, because you know exactly what will be on screen at any given time and it will be far less intensive than an open world game.

Yes, the version of RAGE in Max Payne 3 is far better than the one in GTA IV, and maybe this accounts for some aspects of GTA IV performing so poorly on PC. But is it the whole reason it performs poorly? F*ck. No.

The real reason GTA IV performs so badly is because of the map design and asset quality. You have this new venture into world design with GTA IV, it's the first for Rockstar since the HD era. They were still very green in the ways of creating a smoothly built world with a good sense of how to properly stream in high quality assets. They crammed too much into the screen at any given time, and sure it holds up well today, but it also is extremely taxing on the system. With GTA V there is much more attention to world design and how to properly flesh out that world with high quality yet highly efficient art assets. But all the asset optimizations in the world can't make an open world game work just as good as a corridor shooter with the same degree of care applied. So just because Max Payne 3 ran extremely well, doesn't mean it's all thanks to the engine being really well "optimized." That's become such a buzzword around these parts and it really has very little value anymore.

Yeah that's a very simple way of TL-DR my post lol

MP3 has some of the smallest levels and most simple details of any game past 2010. It's no wonder it was deemed as so "optimized" by many players. It ran on toasters because the game was fit for toasters.

I guarantee you a majority of screenshots on steam of games that have a console version are from the console version. It is called publishers being lazy.

Now there are games on there that have PC screenshots, and its obvious when they are.

Also, a Majority of PC gamers have 1080p or slightly higher monitors

which is why i was clear in saying PC enthusiasts

i'm not talking about the average PC gamer,

enthusiasts don't purchase flag ship hardware and build sli/crossfire setups to play games at a measly 1920x1080 resolution.

1440p and 1600p are more common among people with high-end setups . others just go with supersampling or driver based/monitor downsampling to attain higher than 1080p resolutions in games. i personally game at 2720x1700 (downsampled) and i honestly find it difficult to go back down to 1080p, the difference is like night and day.

but back to steam though, i find it very interesting that steam is still saying "available early 2015" instead of january 27th. it's been two months and they've yet to change it to rockstar supposed official date.
