  1. 1. When will the preorder option on steam be available for GTA V PC?

It's enough for me he compares it to making a game from scratch, apparently they worked on NG and PC more than they worked on the LG game itself or something. Jesus.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/11/05/grand-theft-auto-5-leaping-the-generation-gap?watch

“We’ve spent more man-hours on this than most games get from start to finish,” says Rockstar Games art director Aaron Garbut. He describes the “sheer volume of work” as the main similarity between bringing GTA V to new-generation consoles and PC and making a game from scratch.

Pretty much confirmed, then. We have ourselves another Max Payne 3-level gem.

I am so f*cking hyped after that article.

They didn't say the game was made from scratch, they said it was SIMILAR making a game from scratch. Meaning the amount of work they put into making all the next gen versions (this includes the consoles) was similar to making a new game.

Also the quote from from the Art Director. So he was probably talking about models, textures, etc.

Nothing is guaranteed until the pc version is released. But judging from how good the game looks on next gen and the fact that it's supposedly locked 30 fps... We should be confident that those of us with systems that surpass next gen consoles should be quite safe and 60 fps with great settings should be very possible.

The only thing I hope for is instead of a view distance slider that we get a "low medium high very high" setting for view distance. Those sliders were far too uncontrolled and disastrous on performance.

I think the sliders are fine especially since you can see what they do in real time while you're adjusting them.

And people still don't want to believe GTA V on last-gen was just a cash-in rather than the real thing.

So all the people that don't own a pc/ps4/xboxone shouldn't have experienced the game? it wasn't a cash grab, it was the maximum they could have accomplished on such old machines.

I'm actually happy that PC version didn't come out along with 360/ps3, we would only have gotten a slightly better game. But now we're getting a masterpiece 2 times better than the original masterpiece.

I'm thinking, because of how the specifically mentioned 4k Support for PC, then first PC images will be 4k

To claim that 30fps or anything below 60 fps is a "slide show" is just ridiculous hyperbole.

My eyes do not really "blend" 30fps at times. Especially when the camera rotates I see some edges double rather than a smooth movement of the object. (Screen is 1ms reaction time, inb4 someone saying I have crappy hardware)

It's a complete nightmare to have 30fps for me, I really can't play with it.

But be glad if you can't see it, lower hardware costs :D

Other topic:

We finally have the first person trailer in proper quality.

750mb for 3 minutes, take a note Youtube...

be glad that i can't see what? the difference between 30 and 60 is significant and it's rather obvious that 60fps provides a much more fluid experience, i've never stated otherwise.

what i'm saying here is that 30fps provides a smooth enough experience in the vast majority of non-competitive games. 60fps in a game like gta is a a luxury, not a necessity.

i understand it's personal preference. i personally do not mind locking games to a solid 30fps in a graphically intensive game if it means i can crank up settings to the max and play at high resolutions. for everything competitive or fast paced , 60fps is optimal.

here's a good site showing 30fps vs 60fps, 30fps is clearly not a fluid, but in no way, shape or form is it a "slide show".

thanks for posting the gamersyde link, btw.

Anything under 120fps is not optimal when it comes to competitive gaming.

Unless you're talking about CoD's competitive scene if such thing even exists.

While a few claustrophobic and/or clunky games (like The Evil Within) do work well with 30fps, let's be serious, it shouldn't be a standard, not even for casual non-competitive gaming session, and especially not on PC.

personally, i'm disgusted with the subordination of PC in some of these recent rockstar interviews - putting the new consoles before PC while discussing development - when it should be the other way around. call me a nitpicker or whiner or what have you, but that's just being completely disingenuous with the public.

why can't they just be honest for once and tell it like it is - that PC was developed way before these damn consoles even came into the picture, and that the new console versions are simple ports of the PC version and not dedicated versions made from scratch.

porting a game over to another platform from a previously completed base build is not the same as creating a game from the ground up. the "ground up" creating happened on the PC and last gen versions, not on the new fcking consoles.

instead of being truthful, they're intentionally giving the impression that development happened the other way around and that this new version is "only made possible becuz of teh powah inside teh new consolez!", no mention of the PC's extremely pivotal role in all of this.

goddamit rockstar. we know you love your console generated money, but at least acknowledge the platform that made all of this possible (PC) and give credit to your developers who busted their asses for years creating a dedicated PC version that ultimately allowed you to make those PS4/XB1 ports.

i'm rambling now, but i'm just sick and tired of this nonsense.

as for the game being max payne 3 level, that became pretty obvious with the discovery of the developer log last year

Snorlax, they probably will once PC articles start dropping. Right now they'll have to milk all they can from the current gen consoles.

yeah, you're probably right. i won't be surprised if they keep mum even as the PC launch draws closer though. if they don't say anything even then, i will be absolutely convinced that rockstar doesn't give a crap about the PC community.

Now that YouTube has 60 FPS, I wouldn't be surprised to see a 60 FPS trailer.

You know what sucks though? Youtube only supports 60 fps in 720p and 1080p videos, they wouldn't be able to make 4k 60 fps trailer.

So either 4k 30 fps or 1080p 60 fps I guess.
