Was wondering...does R allow Preload for their games on steam ? since i never got any Rockstar game before its release on steam....

I can confirm that you could preload Max Payne 3 on Steam, that brings me to the conclusion that GTAV is no exception.

You just got me thinking, is it possible to actually start up the reload by somehow bypassing the files? or is the .exe not present?

 

P.S I'm asking because I never did a pre-load before.

There is a trick involving VPN which can be used to start pre-loading and then unlocking few hours/days earlier.

Its not a trick, just use a VPN and connect to for example Australia, and you can play it. I did that with COD Ghosts.That's called a "trick" my friend.

Did it many times, no ban. Just don't buy games with VPN on and you will be fine.

If you will do it (unlock the game/play), you shouldn't go online then, because Steam might relock it (some games).

 

Yet have to see account that was banned because of this. But I did see banned accounts because they bought games for cheaper using VPN. (Using VPN, directly on Steam, NOT cd-key resellers!).

Excessive cross-region gifting is discouraged and will result in an account lock. In addition, it won't help for launching the game early anyway.

They had GTA series sales earlier like 2 weeks ago, I believe we had Max Payne sales recently as well. LA Noire is about the last big Rockstar title on steam if I remember correctly. So it could just be a coincidence.. but I find that hard to believe considering we KNOW GTAV is coming this fall.. and it's been nonstop Rockstar sales every weekend.

If you mean the mac address than no. You can also spoof that.

 

No, an actual "serial code" locked to your hardware. I know Steam has that, but I don't know how they use it exactly. One of the most popular multiplayer mods for GTA, Multi Theft Auto, has a ban system where you can ban a computer from a server basically, from a generated "serial". I last messed with this years ago though so, dunno.

there is no such thing; closest is some generation of data from MAC address and HDD data - Steam only bothers revoking your actual purchased licenses, seeing as it's, well, easy to do so, and you'd need to pay to get them back, so they're not infinite, so they're sufficient to revoke

Almost every ID/Serial hardware on PC can be changed (spoofed) (including router and modem (this also depends on ISPs)). Banning account is the easiest thing to do and probaly the only working ban system.
Also remember that some companies or even country have some laws about that, so it might be illegal or your warranty could/will be voided.
