Preorder month

952 members have voted

  1. 1. When will the preorder option on steam be available for GTA V PC?

Recommended Posts

Today it seems like they are off :/

Calm down

It's only 7:15 AM in New York, and 4:15 AM in San Diego

If they are going to work today, they will most likely start at 9AM

So we still have plenty of time

And it's Sunday, so it wouldn't be weird at all if they didn't even work today, be glad they did yesterday - which is very surprising because they are clearly rushing something - trailer or the pre-order which means release date annoucement next week

I desperately need the help of some level headed PC gamers in this thread

http://gtaforums.com/topic/736436-speculation-flight-school-trailer-from-ngpc-version/

I really need someone to help me and post the screenshots that I requested. Help me show these kids what I'm talking about

They make trailers on a separate build of the game as proven by the build logs. (trailer build). Not the NG/PC versions.

This trailer build lacks some gameplay features in favor of eyecandy and its use is intended only to make trailers.

Still it's not even close to what NG/PC will be.

Would they have the courage to show the sub 30 framerate, horrible textures and pop-ins in a trailer? I don't think so.

Not to worry, Dan's just polishing his spiked whip with the blood of last year's QA team. Gotta keep it fresh for the new blood, if you know what I mean.

He'll start whipping them into submission in a few hours or so. Please stay tuned to the Newswire for updates.

It's possible that R* San Diego is working on it, and it's only 8 AM there

We still have time to see them on SteamDB today

They probably begin their work at 9 AM

Nah man, it's church day, nobody wants to mess with God. No updates today.

I wish San Diego worked on this project I really do. They should have been handed the entire country side and left Los Santos to North. Would've made for a far better map.

Anyways I am not holding my breath for this week. Can they post something this week? I f*cking hope so it's bee what like 13 f*cking weeks since they announced the NG/PC ports and made that infamous quote "we'll have more info on the coming weeks and months" yet here we are... so SOMETHING has to happen one of these days already for f*ck sakes. How many f*cking weeks do these people count on before weeks becomes irrelevant and they start counting months?

A couple of screens... A guy in a lake and Michael driving a Hydra I think. They weren't enough for us.

Doesnt matter, there wasnt silence for 1 year between those two dates.

Looking at Ryse: Son of Rome to be released soon on Steam, we can look at the GTA:V and RYSER for comparison in how long the production has been moving on in words of updates. I know the games are not comparable per se, but, we can (with 100% fanboy-ism) fantasise that something similar is on-par with GTA:V.

The clouds were about as dynamic. I feel as though when this game comes out, there's going to be a lot of individuals badmouthing the old gen version of the game. It had a sh*tton of pretty impressive details put into it.

All we know for sure about next gen version so far is that there are hammerhead sharks, the speedometer moves, the reflective surfaces are better, there's more pedestrian/traffic density, and an increased resolution. They also boast having an upgraded AI, but we'll have to wait and see if that was some consumer relations BS, because as PC gamers, we should always expect worst case scenerios when it comes to games that they ensure us are "not ports" hehe

But it isn't, all the versions were made from scratch.

They've also noted that weather effects are improved.I've watched some time lapse videos and these type of clouds appear on LG but they have smaller scale. They disappear too quickly to make an accurate judgement so that's why I asked.

The bigger ones move but they don't change the shape. I'm interested will all the clouds be like those ones in the trailer.Idk if they are fully dynamic but that would be nice.

Nevertheless GTA V LG skybox is one of the best I have ever seen and I wouldn't mind if it stays the same.

Oh i know. That's what they aaaall say though.

Eeeeeevery time.

I have no doubt GTAV on PC will look and play fantastically and I'm sure they have been working on it separately. But from scratch? HA. No. No way in hell. They have one base game they work on, then they take that base and start making it work for all the different systems.

Yesterday there was a guy in the game 1 hour ago

Then he had a break and returned 5 hours later, which would be 4 hours from now today, and was in the game for an hour

There is still time but I have to admit I doubt they will be doing something today. It's Sunday afterall

This has already been discussed again and again. Please don't.

I wonder why new COD, Borderlands and other Steam games that will be release at the end of the year have 30, 60 and more people to test they and GTA have only 2?!

It highly depends on development practices, it doesn't necessarily mean Rockstar doesn't have 20+ people running private QA builds in the studios.

They might be testing the non steam version, that would explain why we have only seen like just 2 guys testing the game on SteamDB.

Because Rockstar more than likely has internal testing builds going on. The Steam build is not the core build of the PC version of V.

However, for games like COD and Borderlands, the PC versions of these games rely heavily on the existence of Steam/Valve's servers. Because, as far as I know, COD has an entire anti-cheat to work with, as well as other Steamworks integration features. The same could be said for Borderlands, but I'm pretty sure there's no VAC to be found there. Just general Steamworks additions like Steam Cloud, Achievements and Trading Cards.

GTA V does not rely on the Steam servers nearly as much, at least as far as I know, and as far as history tells us. It'll be like Max Payne 3. It will mostly rely on Rockstar's servers for the majority of cloud-based user content, but there will be Steamworks features for those who want them.

TL;DR: My assumption is that the reason V isn't being tested as much is because there isn't too much to test in the way of Steam-exclusive features. Unlike with the other games you mentioned, which have a history of extensive Steamworks integration on PC.

I could easily be wrong, and it may turn out that we suddenly see a spike in testers in the next few weeks, probably stress testing the sh*t out of the whole thing, lol.

We could still see a very large increase on the Steam builds soon though, depends on what they're testing.

I wonder if they are still planning to bring the Story Mode DLC that they promised "later this year" in Spring updates article back in April.

So many things could release in V in these 3 months.

GTA V on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, story DLC, heists, military update, casino update, halloween update, christmas update.

Please give us something tomorrow...

I doubt it. They promised Heists in the same Spring update.

I want this sheat available on steam :(

I'll make a GTA V preorder if the game is optimized for AMD, because if the game is optimized for NVADIA, it'll certainly run sh*tty on my PC due to sabotages :\

They won't favor optimization for either of the companies. I have never seen this happen before, not consciously at least.

I think other games also have steam build and non steam build. But despite that they have many testers. Logically GTA 5 must have 100 and more testers, because of overall size of the game. Also in GTA 5 we have big singeplayer and the biggest multiplayer in games history.
