Nice specs. I built my PC last year and by looking at the structure of the (back then) next gen consoles (PS4, Xbox1), I chose the AMD FX8350. I can only say that I am really happy with the choice, especially because the current gen games coming to PC will actually utilise multiple cores instead of only one or two as it were before. So my specs:

CPU: FX8350
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX760 2024 MB (apparently sharing memory with my RAM, total memory: 4038MB), willing to upgrade to the R290 8GB or NVIDIA 8GB card.
RAM: 16384 MB DDR3-1866 Corsair

MBo : ASRock 990FX Extreme3

CPU cooler: Noctua DH-14

and I got a WD 2TB HDD and a 240 GB SSD. I will still have to decide on which HD I am going to install the game.

AMD Phenom II X4 970 3.5Ghz

EVGA GTX 560 Ti 1GB

12GB Memory (6.00GB Usable)

Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium

I'll be running the game at 1360x768 60hz. My monitor can display up to 1400x900 however I can't duplicate the display to my 32 inch TV across from my computer if I use that resolution. I can get 60FPS on most games running at 720p resolutions with a mix between High and Ultra - even more if the games have PhysX turned off.

the reason only 6 gb of your ram is usable is because you are using windows 7 home edition.... win 7 pro will use all the ram.

Are we talking Windows 7 Pro with a game running or not?

Because if your version of Windows is using that much without any memory heavy application then I would suggest you do a complete reinstall.

Edit: Yeah, I realized, poorly worded.

Nope.

Windows 7 Home Premium x64 supports max of 16 GB RAM. Windows 7 Professional x64 supports 192 GB.

And Linux supports 128TiB for free

Seriously I am absolutely shocked Windows has a RAM Limit on the already overpriced home versions, I never knew.

32GB is not rare these days at all.

Will keep it in mind.

More of because Windows pre-8 doesn't require Compare-Exchange 16-bit. That instruction is required to have more than 8 TB of user-space RAM. Earliest AMD64 CPU's do not have that instruction.

•GPU: EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX

•RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro Silver, 2133MHz

•HDD: x2 2TB Seagate Barracuda (One for my 3D work, other for general storage of sh*t)

•OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

I'll see what it runs on and how much tweaking I can do for performance. Not really bothered, it will run smoother and prettier than PS4/X1 and those versions already look decent.

Pretty much limited to anyone using Windows 7 Home or worse. Anything upwards including all variations of Windows 8 has a much higher limit.

Get yourself the right variation of Windows Server and you'll have a limit of 4TB.

I plan on buying the game for my PC and wondering what I would have to upgrade to run it without any issues:

AMD Athlon II X4 640 Processor 3.00 Ghz

4.00 GB Ram

AMD Radeon HD 5570

Do you think I should upgrade? I want to run the game on high settings so I can get the best visual performance. I love visuals :)

1. Get an Athlon X4 760K (Richland-Piledriver) or 860K (Kaveri-Steamroller).

2. Get a minimum GTX 760 or R9 280X. 5570 will not run the game on at least Medium. The max you can get with that card is Low.

That CPU/GPU combination is perfect for tweaked medium-high settings at 1080p resolution. You'll easily achieve 30fps on it. :)

Not really. The regular 750 is significantly weaker than R7 260X and GTX 750 Ti. Regular 750 is more of a match to R7 250X (7770).

Hey thanks! Can I get away with just upgrading the video card? I'm guessing those two (if needed both) will install without any issues? Sorry for my noob-ness, it's been a LONG time since I messed with computers.

Well, I'm a bit worried about the CPU too. All I know about that CPU, is that it uses AM3. Chances are you're using an AM3+ compliant board, thus you can easily upgrade to a FX-4300 (quad-core), or FX-6300 (hexa-core).

If your motherboard doesn't support AM3+ (which is rather rare, you're looking at a 2009-2010 motherboard), the best is either get a rather old Phenom X4 965 BE, or Phenom X6 series. Or get a FM2/FM2+ system instead.

I misunderstood the CPU. I thought Athlon II X4 640 uses FM2.

Sorry mate, but you're out of luck. That board doesn't support AM3+, limiting you to the *retired* Phenom II series.

Off-topic: X1 version looks rather disappointing for me:

Didn't expect that much of a difference.

Yeah too bad. Do you think it'll run ok if I just upgrade the video card to one you recommended?
