Has anyone been banned from online for using the mods? Checking before I go online with the FOV, and Shader mod.

I wouldn't take the chances with that, it's possible you could get banned later. Anyway, any chance you could link me to the FOV and the Shader mod?

I can't wait to mess around with the trainer once I get my copy. Shame I have to wait until next week.

So, what do you guys think about playing online with mods? And what's the status of any vehicle mods, if there are any?

It's really not recommended playing Online with a trainer. As for Car Mods, the next release of OpenIV is just for viewing files only, it'll still take some time before a build is out that will allow importing to the archives, which Vehicle Modding requires.

Is it possible in a few days time if once OPENIV released the new application with the encryption key that cockstar could release a new update with a new encryption key.

I fking hope they won't be able to do this but as this is PC and not console gen nothing is on a disk once installed so it sounds like its something they would be able to do as its a major patch if done.

I want to point out that ReShade w/ SweetFX is compatible with GTAV and some people already made presets. I tried a few of them and like K-Putt's preset the most.

You can download it here. - Edit: Fixed the link

Press F12 in-game to enable it. Do not enable it in the game menus as it will cause lag in the menu, wait until you are loaded into story mode or online. Accessing the menus after enabling it in-game does not make it lag.

Here is how my game looks with it. FXAA is on and MSAA at 2x. SMAA enabled in ReShade. Makes a big difference and the image is sharper.

Thanks!!!

for them to do that, they would have toinclude code in the patcher to decrypt the rpf files, then re encrypt them with the new keys. that would give us the tools to decrypt and re encrypt the new rpf files so that method wouldnt work. the only other method would be forcing everyone to download 50+ GB of new rpf files.

Both situations would never happen

In the common_data folder, i found visualsettings.dat. Interesting stuff there:

http://pastebin.com/csNnSfyg

Will be able to edit those settings when the new OpenIV update releases? I know it won't edit models/textures..etc. yet but what about those files we can edit using the notepad?

Would the upcoming OpenIV be able to extract files from RPF?

Yes, you will be able to extract files.

this is super exciting.

the new era of PC gaming begins the day OpenIV gets an update.

Pretty sure they'll call it "OpenV" ;)

We will keep the name - OpenIV.

What is the difference to modding community of having the SDK for GTA V and not getting it? I know you can mod without it, does the SDK just make it easier?

Rockstar won't release SDK for GTA V because they do not have one.

No, they can't in this case they need to modify too many data in game.

Here's what'll probably be a pretty simple mod to make: Unlock the interiors that are locked outside of missions (Lifeinvader and Tequi-La-La) or not open yet (Bahama Mamas West, if it's still there).

God damn. Happened so much faster than I expected. I really want my new computer now, and I really hope I don't get banned from Online if I use simple things like shaders or tweaks like the FOV. Very, very nice work. I'm really impressed.

Holy sh*t I spent the day digging trying to see if there was anyway I could use old IV tech to unpack the rpf files and lo-and-behold f*cking OpenIV comes to the rescue.

So excited to get this sh*t going. This is gonna rock.

Huge thanks to NTS and the OpenIV team. Definitely will be donating for your hard work in the face of formidable challenges.

Gotta say, even though it's only basic implementation so far, this has really shown how well GTAV is for VR:

I can confirm I have the intention to try and port the IV trainer to V (SP only). But for that I need smarter guys finding a way to hook into the game engine. Last I heard it doesn't look good on that front, but I hope given time that will be possible as well.

Hold my beer, whilst I buy you one NTS. Maybe a few. Or a lot. This could get expensive. I need room to breathe. D:

Just one little question, do the different versions of the game (i.e. Steam, physical discs...) have the same files and all have the same modding ability ?

If it's similar to the GTA IV Steam version, they'll be an exact replication of files (edit) and modding abilities as the retail version.

It will be a mess anyhow. We know how Rockstar Games feels about modding...
