GTA V General Modding Discussion

I can't answer this question right now. (I mean I don't know)

Hmm, considering IV and V uses the same archives and file types, I can't think of any troubles on using OpenIV on V.

Archives and file types are different in IV and V.

Rockstar don't really like people modding their games, it's like exploiting their hard work, Most of the reason they did not patch the save editor in Single player because they believe people will not abuse it on consoles and go mod in online mode.

But when on PC... BAM! Mods online and blah blah blah.

Add-on: I believe the PC Ver has already finished for a long time, they are just spending a little more time on security measures. So prepared to be disappointed.

GTA IV made Watch_Dogs pretty much irrelevant now, better storyline and better PC functionality (you can't deny it, almost everyone can play GTA IV, but not Whatever_Dogs because the cocksuckers decided to make it DX11 only)

Can't wait for V to pretty much deliver the last blow to that overrated piece of sh*t.

When GTA5 get a mobile hacking mod, Watchdogs will become just another Extreme Euro Tractor 2014 simulator.

I wish something like dinosaurs of epic monsters to hunt around Blaine County. It will be more epic than Skyrim's dragons xD

Can we ever add more vehicles to the game without need to "replace" another? Just like DLC does?

I'd like to have the F|hold-F feature and a realistic police system.

I don't like mods, because they are buggy and poorly executed...

Regarding Modding, to me Rockstar only has three paths.
1. Block all regarding modding, making imposível the use of mods, and completely destroying the GTA modding community, to preserve the GTA Online.
2. Don't put any restrictions on modding, and transform the lives of those who want to play GTA Online peacefully in a hell. (even if there zero tolerance for those who use mods in GTAO, and ban those who use them)
3. Add full support for mods in the game, in a way that it is an Single Player only experience, and don't load the mods that are installed in the game when the player goes to the GTA Online.
The path I'm sure Rockstar will not choose is the second. Do not put any restrictions on mods for GTA Online, would mean death for the multiplayer of the game, because it would be impossible to play in a public lobby without it being modified.
And the path that I do not think she wants to go is the first. Rockstar knows that GTA modding community is one of the largest in the world (if not the largest), and is also what makes the game special on PC. And I guess she did not want to end it in such a cold way, which is simply blocking it. And this leads us directly to the third way. <you saw the easter-egg?
I know, add complete support for mods of the game takes significant time and effort, but if Rockstar wants to please both those who want to play GTA Online in peace, as the modding community, they have to do that. The question now is: "How?"
I have an idea. As I already said when I was quoting the third option, the game could control all the mods that were installed on it, and load them only for the Single Player. And that could happen if instead of replacing the original file to install the mod, I podiria only add mod file in a folder or something, and preserve the original file. Then, when the game loads the single-player mode, he would read the file added and load with the mod, and when I go to the multiplayer it would load the original file. For example: I install a simple mod that replaces a car, when the game loads the single-player mode, it will read the file from the mod and replace the car. Now when I go to multiplayer, it would read the original file since it was not modified. And if the original file was replaced? The game show a message saying that the original file was modified and would not load.
Now I do not know in relation to more complex mods that actually add things to the game, like the Spiderman or Watch Dogs. I believe that these types of mods could be installed in the game, but if you wanted to play multiplayer you have to uninstall them.

Anyway, I know my post was a bit big but I wanted to expose my idea, and also I bet I was not the only one thinking like that.

Here's another suggestion, the possibility to create a local / private server where mods are enabled.

I will rip GTA 5 asunder and shamelessly copypaste the materials so it resembles San Fierro. Then, i will slap it above the north side of the map.

I'd really love it if someone took an Oracle or a Super Diamond and put the front end of the Alpha on it to make the 4-door STS I wanted that car to be all along.

Erm... Good luck playing V with a GPU pre-DX11. I'm not saying it won't run on other DirectX versions, but it's probably gonna run very bad on a card old enough to not support DX11.

I find this ridiculous, unless people are ruining things like the online portion of the game then mods do nothing but enhance the experience.

I think it's hilarious that no console modder has found a way to bring North Yankton infections to GTA online lobbies.
There will (probably) be mod support, R* has even shouted out many PC modders in the past.

Mods that bring old minigames or activities from the past GTAs, like vigilante missions, basketball, etc. Also more customization options for the already in-game vehicles!

I don't know $hit 'bout modding, but I'm courious is it possible to add or program something like "gang wars" we had in GTA SA? Further more can "respect system" be brought back again, in a way that some gangs, in case they don't like you so much, will attack you? Can something like that be done? You know something like creating more " interactive world" with more action-reaction type of going ons?

Real Cars are Better!

Caprice%2BRealistic%2BCar%2BMod%2BPack%2

Once GTA 5 releases for PC this Fall Im hoping we get a Mod called The Realistic Car Mod. What this mod does is it replaces the default replica cars that Rockstar gives us. You get real cars like BMW's to Lamborghini's. Every GTA player fantasizes about driving around actual cars in the game. I think GTA 5 has some great default cars that look similar to real life cars but I would rather roam around in Bugatti.

Realistic Cars Mod for GTA 4 was Legendary!

  1. Over 90 Real Life Cars
  2. From Honda Civics to Buggati Veyrons
  3. Stunning HD Graphics Quality
  4. View Cars: Custom GTA 4 Cars

Mini%2BCooper%2BGTA%2B4.png

Will we get a realistic car mod for GTA 5?

The answer lies with the third party developers that create the custom game content. I just hope that grand theft auto 5 is not a hard piece of software. Rockstar Has control over how hard it is to create custom content for their game. Third Party Game developers are very smart these days so, Im almost sure they will figure out a way to add custom Vehicles Into GTA 5.

You can have that, i'll pass. I'd rather have new invented cars from GTA universe.

Real cars just break the immersion for me.

Also, it bothers me that you speak of GTA cars as something bad that needs to be fixed.
