Funny thing is I have a Q6600 in a dead P5K-E motherboard sitting next to my bed, along with 4GB of DDR2 667, I don't have the skills to take the CPU out of the motherboard or I would have sold it already, problem is getting the tower to a repair shop to take off the CPU to sell it will cost more than the price I can sell it for, so I'm screwed somehow.

Unless the CPU is stuck to the motherboard all you need to do is take the cooler off, get the thermal compound off (you don't want to be selling a CPU with a hunk of thermal paste on uness the buyer is willing to clean it), pull a small lever up and get the CPU out.

It's not that hard TBH, just make sure you clean it properly (use strong Isopropyl Alcohol, AT LEAST 70%) and don't touch the LGA (the contact points) on the bottom of the CPU as it could cause problems for the buyer. Honestly, when you're removing an Intel CPU there's very little to worry about, especially if the mobo is dead.

I have;

GPU: 2GB GDDR5 nVIDIA® GeForce® GTX760M 128-Bit DX11

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ

RAM: 8GB (1x8GB) DDR3L 1.35V 1600MHz

i don't think i'll be having problems with my cpu or ram, just wondering can i get 40+ fps at med-high settings with 760m ?

sorry if some specs like this've asked before, kinda lazy to read all 76 pages :/

OK I read somewhere that GTA5 will require to have win 8.1 to be able to play it.

Something related to DX 11.2 been exclusive for win 8.1...

Dont know if this is true or not but would like the ones who know more than me to give their input about this.

As my PC is used to do a lot of movie editing work win 8 is a big NO for me because I need to use several programs at the same time and be able to

switch between them in a split second and win 8 is not very friendly in this. So if this is true im jumping off the boat.

It's BS. Most PCs are still running 7 I think, which means there's money to be made from W7 users. If the OS is restricted then it'll be W7 and up.

Last time I checked, alt-tab still worked on Windows 8.

Yup works fine, and if you're stuck with no start menu and you miss it, ClassicShell is your friend, I still use Windows 7 because I have a legit license of it on my main computer and don't plan on purchasing Windows 8 anytime soon, prefer to wait for Windows 10 that is awesome, testing it in a Virtual OpenBox machine at the moment.

Even I know how to take the CPU out of the motherboard. That being said, I'm just a young teenager.

I use my present PC in a harsh way, so yeah, I stripped it down completely and built it again. It was fun but the only place where I got stuck was to install the CPU fan back into the motherboard. But a quick Google and a couple of videos on YouTube was all I needed. ;)

Why did you remove your cpu in the first place?

Curiosity. Wanted to see how the "brain" of my PC looks like.

For some reason, this site posted these specs for GTA V PC.....I think they are WAY TOO HIGH and the actual game will not require that much, but I could be wrong...what do you think?

A good 6 GB Video Card ALONE would cost you about $500.00 to $600.00! That is just for the video card. I find these specs a bit hard to believe.

Here is the web page that stated you had to have these specs....

Kdramastars is very well known for literally just making stuff up when it comes to gaming, I guess the rest of their content is a bunch of gossip crap as well. They post blatant bullsh*t just to get clicks -- they're a clickbait site.

6GB of GPU VRAM is absurd, but we've seen a couple other games have similar requirements. It's telling how even for the recommended, they don't even list any actual GPU's, just says "DX11 card with 6GB of RAM". Also the i7-3770 isn't an "eight core", it's just a quad-core with SMT enabled which gives you four additional virtual hardware threads... No way this is legit, R* would make any mistakes like that on their official spec sheets. And 4GB of VRAM for MINIMUM? f*ck that lol, that already eliminates a huge portion of potential buyers. No way that's legit. If by some horrible scenario this turns out to be legit, this game would be a poorly-optimized mess.

Don't forget the most obvious part that makes it BS. The HDD space needed, the game will be much bigger than 30GB.

It's also nice to see that the GTX900 series aren't supported according to those notes.

A for effort, I guess.

Those are (looking like) WATCH DOGS specs, not official GTAV requirements, and that web-link you posted is just a rumour. Until Rockstar is revealing GTA5-PC footage trailer, there will be no real requirements for this game.

Anyway, as you guys wanted to be 1GB VRAM on Minimum Mode for GTA5-PC, here's my edited specs. Sorry for my exaggerated things.

Minimum Requirements:

Intel Core i3-2100 3.10GHz. - Require at least Sandy-Bridge Core i3 or higher CPUs to be able to play this game. Pentium and Celeron CPUs are not supported/compatible.

4GB RAM.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX550Ti 1GB. - Hah, that's way better!

60GB Free Space.

Windows 7 Service Pack 1 64Bit or Later. With DirectX11. 32Bit-OS is not supported.

And I checked out and compared between CPUs on www.cpuboss.com and www.game-debate.com, although Core 2 Quad CPUs have 4 cores while Core i3 CPUs have 2 cores, the 2nd generation Intel Sandy-Bridge Core i3 processors are always perform better than all Core 2 Quad CPUs.

I am not spamming, just a reminder to people. Have a nice day guys. I am Ahim Shannon.

this is too much

2gb vram for minimum

6gb ram -for minimum

i5 for minimum

that looks more realistic

Those specs are from WATCH DOGS. Edited by AhimShannon

A good 6 GB Video Card ALONE would cost you about $500.00 to $600.00! That is just for the video card. I find these specs a bit hard to believe.

Here is the web page that stated you had to have these specs....

That's (look like) WATCH DOGS specs, not official GTAV requirements, that web-link you posted is just a rumour. Until Rockstar is revealing GTA5-PC footage trailer, there will be no real requirements for this game.

I doubt the onboard APU will be enough, plus the Ram is going to be low.

I am guessing you have a laptop, in which case you won't get I running....
