I've been doing some melee-only deathmatches lately, such as MMA Cagefight and King of the Kill, and I was wondering if anyone knew which melee weapons were the most powerful?

From my "research", it seems that the crowbar is the go to for one-to-two hit kills, while the golf club, and even the baseball bat, sometimes take as many as 5 hits to end someone's existence.

If anyone knows which is the best, let a bro know. I don't wanna swing my arms to end fools any more than I need to, being the energy conservationist that I am.

And for bonus fun, tell us your favorite melee weapon. Mine's the hammer. Everytime I whip it out to beat on some hobos or prostitutes, any other players around seeing it instantly beg for me to give them one. So it not only makes for good bashin', but it makes you the life of the party as well!

Knife/broken bottle seems to do the job quite nicely

Technically pistol whipping, but you can't use guns so I say that the knife is the best. If you go into stealth mode everything becomes a one hit kill.

I think it matters where and how the blows land. If you box enough people you'll notice sometimes you just clock 'em in the right place and they go down instantly. I brought a bat down on another player's head in a melee deathmatch in such a fashion that it just looked fatal and ended a rank 90-something's life in one strike. All that aside though, I think the crowbar is the most lethal but it seems to have a more limited range.

Anyway. The knife does the job the best.

There's a trick in melee deathmatches that lets you avoid being hit at all. Press X/O at the same time, very rarely will they have a chance to hit back. This method is very effective with the knife.

Also, the crowbar is probably the best melee weapon to use, as you said, it'll either kill people in one hit, knock them down, or stumble enough so you can kill them with the second hit.

 

Melee deathmatches aren't very good. I'd avoid them at all costs.

But if anything, the nightstick knocks down the enemy on the first hit if I remember correctly.

Yeah beacuse spamming 'O' is difficult to do. Most people just lag in melee. It's why they suck so badly.

The knife is pretty good. I hate these kinds of death matches though. Who ever has the better Internet connection will always win. It's annoying getting stabbed with the knife from 10ft away, or being hit 10 times in a row with seeing the punches.

What tactics are they? Any tactic is undone by using the method I posted earlier by pressing the X and O buttons at the same time. Everyone knows how to do it now too. There's no skill involved.

The melee system is broke as hell in this game. Unless it's 1v1 it just becomes laggy, then it's more luck based than skill based.
