I'd love to see London return from the 2D era

There's just so much potential in using london

Hell if they were up for the challenge Britain and Ireland

Maybe some "Italian Job" style heists

R*'s already stated that they won't be returning to London as GTA today is based around satire of american culture.

First of all: Thanks for replying everyone

second of all: heck... I can't quote so many posts.

This is why I create this comment in multiple parts:

First I wanna state that I call this Add On's and not Downloadable Content. I do this, because it is more likely to be advertised as this than just a DLC.

This also means that the price will go up. You get more, you have to pay more. Simple as that.

This is also why GTA VI is a long way from here. It is also a possibility that V is the last numbered GTA for a long time.

This said, click the spoilers to see information about the Add On. All has been found and can be backed up with facts, unless stated different.

- Northern San Andreas Add On

Northern San Andreas is most likely the next installment of a Map.

It is hinted quite a lot within the game itsself and NPC's act like Northern San Andreas is already there.

Northern San Andreas would (rough sketch) exists from: Paleto County in the south, To the east you can find Red County (possibly with a new city based on Sacramento somewhere in the north east of Northern San Andreas) and at the west coast you will find San Fierro.

San fierro's big bridge leads over the bay. The bay probably has a Y form on it's side.

Northern San Andreas is attached with a bridge to Southern San Andreas in the south east/mid.

Here is a rough sketch I made from the information:

25k1k0m.jpg

- Liberty City Add On

If we see Liberty City, which is quite a big possibility, it will most likely not be the Liberty City you remember.

First of all, Liberty City in IV consisted from multiple cities merged together. It also featured two States; Liberty State, in which Liberty City lays, and Alderney State, which contains Alderney City. This is city is merged with Liberty City.

Second of all: Liberty State OR Alderney State has country side. Think about farms etc. Also Carcer City is featured in one of the states and it is only a few miles from Liberty City.

If we will see a Liberty City Add On, which, again, is highly likely, we probably see an extended Liberty City as featured in the BETA of IV. This means: Liberty City along with the Carraways and Country side. Possibly we will also see Carcer city.

This also means that an Add On like this won't come anytime soon. However, when it comes; Be happy and surprised. Because it is more than you could hope for :)

- North Yankton Add On

Ah, the infamous North Yankton.

First things first: North Yankton is far from finished. It is an awesome state, yeah it is, but for now it only has one city: Ludendorf, which is more a town.

According to the GTA Lore, a major city should be more to the North, (from which you enter Ludendorf for the second time).

It should also be clear that with an Add On like this, we probably will have new minigames (NOT a fact!), like skying, snowboarding etc.

I don't know how Rockstar will fix the idea of it NOT being an Island... Maybe a NO fly zone, or mountains which you cannot go over etc... I don't know, but I DO know that we will see more of Yankton in the future.

- Las Venturas Add On

Las Venturas, a city based on Las Vegas, Nevada. In Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, Las Venturas was a city within that state and the country side has influences of Nevada and Arizona and Utah. It still could be in the HD universe, however, it has never been mentioned that it is.

We do know that Las Venturas is a city within the HD universe, because the city itsself has been mentioned quite a lot in IV and V.

If it is within the State of San Andreas we will probably see it attached with bridges to the current map. Otherwise the same as Yankton. A no fly zone at the border of the map and you get there with a commercial airplane.

We do know that Las Venturas is highly anticipated for an Add On because both for Single Player as Online it would be a very popular place. It would be a highly anticipated add on which would sell a lot of copies.

In Grand theft Auto San Andreas, Bone County it was not an accurate rendition of Nevada. In featured influences of the Grand Canyon (Arizona), Route 66 (Arizona), Las Vegas (Nevada), Monument Valley (Utah/Arizona/New Mexico/Colorado) and the Death Valley (California/Nevada).

In Grand theft Auto V: Las Venturas City Stories (or similar) we would most likely see the same rendition with influences of multiple states. This because otherwise the player becomes bored to death by an endless desert. Grand Theft Auto San Andreas fixed this, by using the best parts from multiple states.

- Vice City Add On

Vice City, city of the 80s... Drugs, rock n roll and peace?! well yeah. Vice City is a city in Florida, based of Miami. There currently is NO information in the HD universe in which State Vice City is, but we do know that Vice City is mentioned quite a lot. In Episodes from Liberty City it even has it's own radio station, Vice City FM.

Whatever GTA Wikia says, it is not the most likely place for the next GTA installment; mainly because it is a small city and it looks quite a lot on Los Santos. It would feel as a GTA V 1.2. It would be bought by old fans, but new fans, who have never played Vice City, would most likely not like the place enough to have an entire game based around a small city.

Also, Vice City must be rebuilt from the ground up.

It is NOT the most likely place for the next GTA installment, so don't get your hopes up. Could it be a place for an Add On? Yes definitely.

- Road trip (not add on, but just has been talked quite a lot about in this thread)

Ah, the road trip over Route 66. The long road in Nevada (right?!)

Grand Theft Auto V features Route 68. This is not a reference to Route 66, but Route 86, which is a highway which is an east to west highway.

Knowing Rockstar Route 66 will probably be called Route 69, as a reference to Bone County... Which was a reference of Boner, which I don't have to explain further I think xD

Okay: I hope I gave you a lot of information about the add on's.

Have a nice day ya'll!

why red county in Northern SanAndreas and not Flint county cause wouldn't Red be in South SanAndreas

I would be very surprised if GTA IVs LC map wasn't upgraded and added at dome point. The framework is there and they could easily charge 30$ for such a DLC.

If it were done, I'd expect the Various Construction Sites dotted around the Map to be complete. :)

The GTAV map is Southern San Andreas, there's no Red County in V.

yea but isnt Red county based off of San Fernando which is Southern SanAndreas

Red County, (along with Bone County, and a few towns from GTA SA) is actually mentioned in GTA IV's Internet. :)

yea but that dosent prove wheter Red County in Hd universe is in North Sa or South sa or does it.Does it?

They never state it's in southern either. The only point to make the "it's in southern SA" theroy plausible is that it was right above LS in GTA SA but lots of things changed since then. We could also be missing a part of Southern SA but I don't think so. And I hope you know that GTA V takes place in Southern San Andreas.

Also, notice how in V the Palomino area (in/near red county) is to the east whereas it's to the north in SA.

It kinda does and they still have opportunity to do it with other parts of SA.

how its not like they state or hint

on the website that Red county is in Northern San Andreas

They never state it's in southern either. The only point to make the "it's in southern SA" theroy plausible is that it was right above LS in GTA SA but lots of things changed since then. We could also be missing a part of Southern SA but I don't think so. And I hope you know that GTA V takes place in Southern San Andreas.

Also, notice how in V the Palomino area (in/near red county) is to the east whereas it's to the north in SA.

Thats what im going on and Flint county has the farmland and Forest that you would find in the north but Red county is based off of San Fernando so it has to be south. And youre right when you say theres possibly a missing part of Southern San Andreas because there are hints to the rest of Southern San Andreas in the game.places like SanDiego.

It would be bought by old fans, but new fans, who have never played Vice City, would most likely not like the place enough to have an entire game based around a small city.

no. Kid can't determine rumours from before 2013 at release and what we have now.

I would be very surprised if GTA IVs LC map wasn't upgraded and added at dome point. The framework is there and they could easily charge 30$ for such a DLC.

I think a North Yankton DLC would be way less work for them and R* probably doesn't want to re-use a location we just visited in IV just for a DLC. And LC might be a little too big for a DLC story that's usually shorter than the main campaign.

I don't believe that these maps will come as part of single player DLCs. As R* has stated before, they consider GTA V and GTA Online to be separate entities. I would be willing to bet that when/if these maps are released that they would forego adding single player content with them as a way to really begin to cause players to see GTA:O as it's own separate thing.

Let's look at this from a business standpoint, as R* certainly does.

Developing major DLC content for release on GTA:O is more profitable than developing major DLC content for GTA V. Cars, clothes, etc. are easy enough to keep releasing for both story mode and GTA:O, but once you get into the possibility of creating new characters for GTA:O is where the difference is. In developing Story mode DLC for V, a story would need to be written and approved, whereas for GTA:O, there really is no arcing storyline, everything is essentially developed from a handful of templates

Characters would be another thing. for a story mode DLC, characters would need to be created, established and fleshed out, Alot of dialogue would need to be developed, and actors would need to be hired to voice hours of dialogue. character dynamics would need to be considered and taken into account, as would a myriad of other factors. For GTA:O characters, we need only look at Gerald. Since he never appeared in, and was never mentioned in, the GTA V story, all we know of him is what we learn from his appearance during cutscenes in online. He literally has just a couple of lines of dialogue. The most character development we get is that he is a drug dealer, and the only character dynamic we see is between him and the mute online player(s). The cost difference between bringing a character like Lamar to life is undoubtedly much higher than the cost of bringing a character like Gerald to life.

In a GTA:O only release, the majority of money spent would be map development, music licensing, and the money spent voicing the DJs and commercials for the new map, which would only be a minority of the money spent on developing the single player episodes. The greater ROI for GTA:O only DLC is already apparent, but the ROI for Yankton would yield an even greater ROI, since less work would need to be done to create a full yankton map. LC would represent an even greater ROI, since it would require even less work to update.

One last thing to look at is recurring revenue. with a SP DLC, as with GTA V, there is no recurring revenue stream. You make your profit selling the initial product, and that's it. GTA:O, and the sale of shark cards for in game currency represents a much greater profit margin over time, since Shark cards provide a stream of recurring revenue. While I haven't found any sales figures on shark card sales, some of the figures that I saw on overall sales indicate that R* could have made as much as 30 to 40 million dollars in shark card sales in the first quarter that GTA:O was operational. fresh content like cars and planes undoubtedly keep some players buying shark cards, undoubtedly the law of diminishing returns would kick in as players become bored with the game and leave. significant content would entice users to return, causing subsequent upticks in shark card sales. GTA:O is a profitable enterprise, and if R* actually keeps interest in GTA:O, it could prove to be a competent way to keep the franchise monetized all the way through the development cycle of GTA 6....

could have not said it better, plus all the new areas that would increase the game sales as well

Given the current gen servers cant actually handle more than 24 players, it would be a good time to release a new Island very soon to alleviate the load on LS ;) . Jst have so that you can spawn to either LS or (insert island) and if you are in LS you have to drive to Airport gate to fly to (insert island)

Is there any new evidence to this future map additions? I really like this thread so why not resurrect it?

Unfortunately given the recent News, it's becoming highly unlikely that there will be any Map Additions, at least for now.

We need a Burger Shot.

An updated version of IV's map will come. Maybe next year to bridge the gap between the next game.

I used to think so, but I doubt it now.
