Future map additions

I would be very surprised if LC didn't get included. It would probably take just as much time to update LC as it took to upgrade LS for next gen.

Liberty City, and Northern New Alderney would be awesome. Furthermore, I feel that it would be better if they were expanded as well. I will try to quote an old post of mine that goes into more detail. :)

Edit: I have found it;

For New Liberty, completely rebuilt Liberty City featuring much larger Broker, Dukes and Bohan boroughs. In addition a more realistic scale Francis International Airport coupled with the introduction of a Long Island expy (perhaps Lanky Island). In addition an 'upstate' country styled NL would provide a sharp contrast with the urban hustle and bustle of LC. A small selection of towns each featuring purchaseable safehouses and fast food restaurants and various shops with the largest town featuring its own smaller airport to provide additional choices for those who wish to partake in aviation activities. In addition to these areas, a Staten Island expy (perhaps called Staunton Island) reached only by vehicular/passenger ferry can be inserted south west of Algonquin.

As for the state of New Alderney a similar expansion to the north, west and south, featuring its own airport called the Aderney International Airport

Each geographical area would be patrolled by the appropriate police agencies so a repeat of the large mistake of LCPD police cars patrolling in another state can be avoided.

For New Liberty the LCPD patrols LC, the New Liberty State Police patrols the rural areas of the upstate region. In addition each town would have their own police dept.

On the other side of the Humboldt River the Alderney City Police Department would be involved in policing Alderney City and surrounds while satellite cities would have their own police departments. State wide patrols would be staffed by the New Alderney State Police.

All police vehicles and officers would be using correct uniforms and liveries.

Cheers.

the big map that someone posted in this tread do lack one thing! A connected railrod....

As a train/railway fan I agree. A railway (multiple ones) is needed to help complete the map. Furthermore, it would add further transportation options. Not just for your self, but your vehicle as well.

DB-Laaeks25804366678-7.JPG

I can imagine loading your personal vehicle onto it, and riding to your destination, if you choose not to drive there. :)

Lol; I'm going to drink your tears. The optimism in here is just ridiculous.

It takes R* TWO YEARS to release heists, which are a few glorified big missions.

And you really believe they are capable of spitting out several new cities?

Bwahaha!

Well, yes. Because Rockstar has never done Heists before, for an online game mode. They have in fact added sections to a city via DLC, see Midnight Club.

Furthermore, added a selection of Police Vehicles, based on player wishes, I believe.

We've already found that, nothing special, the mountains are already in-game and probably just an early shot or just some sort of edit, you can also see a rendering issue with the mountains.

Oh, I know...as if every single thing in the game is a "hint" for something else too...like expecting Las Venturas just because there is a postcard on a rack in a store...or the low-res backgrounds of "TV commercials" meaning that there's a whole full-map high-res city waiting to be released...

...and you'll be called names for being realistic while they're all wildly speculating

Except we're not saying stupid sh*t like that. We're not confirming anything, just (mostly) speculating I mean, look at that bike screenshot I posted a couple days ago, sure it's not confirmation, but it's nowhere near what you said.

The only "confirmation" of sorts is Rockstar's from a while back.

It's a painting of raton canyon.

Yes but the mountains in the background look different from the original raton canyon...

Could be concept art.

In your opinion, what can be done just by copypasting the materials from GTA 5?

I think Red County can be made purely from Paleto Forest and Sandy Shores.

Why should he? He's bang on. There is a lot of speculation based on the most ridiculous of things.

Whatever happened to peole just sittng back, enjoying what they've got and waiting and seeing what surprises may arrive in the future. Everyone wants everything now. Sad.

Maybe people enjoy speculating.

and thats the point.

but it makes me so happy, when someone is getting huge ass ache, masked by their fake self-confidence and saying that none of the other people speculations will ever come true :p

the reasoning why it wont are quite realistic, but why are they keep doing it? isnt that obvious that nobody f*cking cares if they dont share the joy of speculating? if you dont like this stuff, just turn off your computer and go on a real date, because you're very obtrusive and not welcomed here. another hard thing to understand for those people :)

1. people seems not to understand one major fact- Rockstar Games consists currently of seven studios, which hires hundreds if not thousands of emplyees, and are constantly hiring more. Its one of the biggest players in the industry, aside to Valve and Blizzard I suppose.

2. the reason why it kept them that long to deliver V / heaists is that they work on very limited hardware which are old-gen consoles.

3. As far as there are cash cards involved, their financial resourses are unlimited. They can hire as much people as they want to. the reason why the content is dispensed is to keep people playing, but also to keep them wainting. If you give people all at the start, they'll get bored much faster, and you'll not have an ace in your slave in case if the competitors start to focus attention on their fresh products.

4. Rockstar games outruned most of the bigger open world IPs. And that means something. They actually shape the tripple A games industry. If this is going to stay, they must to listen what their commmunity has to say, and how they feel about their game.

Never mind this interview with The Benz prior to the release of GTA V.

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/423020/gta-v-interview-rockstar-north-president-leslie-The Benz-on-gta-online/

What scope have you got for expanding beyond the locations we're seeing already?

Well, one thing we've toyed with - and we've talked about this before, so it isn't a spoiler - is (the ambition) to grow this world until it's the world. We're just going to add on new things to it, new places all the time. We've set this up so there are no limitations. The only limitation is the size of the disc and how much memory we've got. We could, if we wanted, simulate the entire world, different countries, whatever. Whether we do that or not... But we've got a bunch of old stuff that we're toying with using.

Yeah, we've all seen this, it's been referenced many, many times...only that it says NOTHING, absolutely nothing...the game is going on 1.5 years old and any longer fits into the interval of a brand new GTA game...

"Ambition" doesn't mean a thing, do you really think that they could really make 20GB models of every world city??

...and for a game on a (new) console that will have a lifespan of 10 years

"Limitation" - discussing space on a disc that's already complete

The part about "no limitations" is just laughable

Also, "new places" doesn't mean new cities/maps

because San Andreas is 20 GB, right? you do know what a GB is, right?

downloadable content doesn't go on the disc, it goes on the hard drive....

Also, "new places" doesn't mean new cities/maps

and you know this, how? see, you are speculating just as much as anyone in this thread. The difference is that you just absolutely know that you are right, because you know everything there is to know about GTA V... hell, you were probably on the dev team... Your name wouldn't happen to be Bryan B. would it?

No, it's actually double that...apparently, you don't know what a GB is or what is installed on your own console

They're not my words, a guy with a female name said it, or are you that bad at reading comprehension?

I know, we'll just buy a separate console for GTA World Online and its mandatory 2 TB file size

Then where are they? We haven't even got the DLC that was supposed to come out LAST YEAR, or the heists that they've been promising since LAUNCH...and I'm sure GTA 6 is at least 50% complete by now

Going against people's wishful thinking apparently causes anger and frustration

There will be new locations added to GTA Onine. Rockstar have always said they plan to expand it. Whether that will be Liberty City or not is anyone's guess. I'd assume they would do Liberty City if any of the old assets are reusable as that would be quicker than starting from scratch.

I know Heists have taken ages, but not all of Rockstar are working on them and they have had to start them over from scratch more than once. They'll have teams working on RDR2 and the next GTA (whatever form that takes) as well as teams supporting GTAO.

I wouldn't expect anything soon though, it could be E3 before we hear anything and a release end of the year or early next. The next GTA is probably a good couple of years away at least. I'd expect any new locations to be paid DLC too.

Speculation is fun and only those who work for rockstar will really know. There's no point deriding those who speculate, but people need to have a realistic expectation of how long things can take in software development. Something that can seem fairly trivial in the game can have a mess of complex systems behind it.

Cheaper to produce than a new title.

Would help fill the gap until the next GTA.

They make a load of money from shark card sales so attracting more people back to online with a major DLC = win for R*

It would be produced alongside a new title, not instead of one.

To be honest, it seems like this thread has gone from "Alright guys, here's something new I found. Thoughts/opinions?" to "Rockstar would never add maps to game. You guyz are liars huer huer"

While I understand that critique is allowed on threads, especially on the topic of map additions, it's just turned to "Liarz liarz you guys are lying".

I am open to people critiquing our discoveries and opinions, but I wish that you guys could do so in a mature, respectable manner. This thread isn't about calling us liars, it's about us sharing our discoveries, and giving our opinions on certain things we've found.

Please keep this on topic, everyone :) Thank you.
