I just pray this guy is a R* employee and has leaked the new gen map haha

Right! R* should put this guy on the payroll for a couple of weeks, and just give him some tools to mess around with.

Anybody know how to do this? We could have a mock up contest thread.

This is truly amazing!!

Hey guys,

been a while since I last posted (I lurk from time to time). I had a few minutes off so I decided to do a San Andreas map mockup. Let me know what you guys think.

GTA-San-Andreas.jpg

This amazing indeed! That is exactly how it should be done. I would be beyond happy with this map. San Fierro looks like it should, and Las Venturas seems perfectly situated in the middle of the desert like that. Top right of the map is obviously off-road heaven.

Holly f*cking sh*t, this map is perfect. I want it so badly.

If you look closely at the map you can see some copy-paste work like Fort Zancudo being copy and pasted in the bottom right near Las Venturas and a part of Los Santos is copy and pated into San Fierro.

There have been several posted where *star alludes to adding new locations posted throughout the thread, most explicitly was the interview with The Benz discussing GTA Online, which Ivarblaauw and myself posted several times over the course of the thread.

For convenience:

"Well, one thing we've toyed with - and we've talked about this before, so it isn't a spoiler - is (the ambition) to grow this world until it's the world. We're just going to add on new things to it, new places all the time. We've set this up so there are no limitations. The only limitation is the size of the disc and how much memory we've got. We could, if we wanted, simulate the entire world, different countries, whatever. Whether we do that or not... But we've got a bunch of old stuff that we're toying with using."

The "new gen map" is the same as the current, why would you think otherwise?

Never, people like to take something (or nothing) that Rockstar says and totally exaggerate or just make sh*t up

Actually, there have been ZERO TIMES that Rockstar has said anything about map additions...and saying "new places", no matter how many times you posted in some dumb thread, does not state anything about areas being added in addition to the current map or even anything about a completely different map

Well. I think this sentence from Rockstar should not be forgotten:

"We're just going to add on new things to it, new places all the time."

Especially that last part is important.

They are going to add NEW places.

Next to that; it is simply from business view the most logical option.

If they add new places, but these aren't map additions, what can it be? XD A new interior?

GTA Online is a mmo (partially). The only way they can make players stay is with new maps/locations.

Also: the bigger the map, the longer players can play without getting bored.

And we all know GTA Online is getting boring at the moment

Sorry but can you even read? (or bother clicking the link to check the source) He quoted a legitimate interview from a while back... yes, the information is speculatory at the moment because we don't actually know Rockstar's development plans. However, it is clearly stated that people at Rockstar would like to see additions to what we were already given. It clearly states "new places" as yes it could just be new additions to our current map, but it also very clearly states that they could essentially create a playable "world." That is crystal clear that they already have the ideas and possible self-motivation to start development on such things. You, CrazyRay, are just being absurd, rude, and idiotic to blatantly ignore simple fact that they did state the possibility of map additions in an official interview. Yes, I do realize it may not be now or even on the ps4/xb-one/pc iteration of GTA V, but it could be on the next game hopefully. If not, then maybe later. Nevertheless, the statement was made and you are wrong. GTA will be "ever evolving" as also stated because consumers will always want more and bigger things from games and developers. It's inevitable that we will see a massive GTA environment in the near future. I am being optimistic, but it can more than likely be possible that they will be adding to our current map very soon. It probably won't be as much or as large as we are hoping, but it will more than likely happen (smooth and complete on the new system port) by allowing separate map-addition lobbies for ps3/360 because of system restraints. Anyways, everyone needs to be patient until an official Rockstar/newswire announcement about what's to come for GTA. I find that there's no need to complain no matter how disappointed I am with them as a developer (and their poor communication). We just have to see what happens.

Nobody thinks R* have PROMISED new maps. But you, sir, are being rude and ignorant and there's no need for it. Anyone with half a brain cell can figure out that there'll be new areas to visit at some point. Whether it's with GTAVI or beyond. R* have gone on record to say that there is no need for separate online modes for future games and that they can simply expand on the one that we have now. And that makes perfect sense to everyone but you apparently.

Not entirely true. Dan Houser said they are planing to join all the cities and have players fly from one to the other. Problem is, we're gonna have to wait a LONG time for it.

Which part isn't entirely true?

The one about expanding the map. You know, the part I explained :)

Edit:

To make it clear though, those are plans for the future of the franchise, not GTA V. But, who knows...

What I said IS entirely true. I'm not saying that what YOU said ISN'T true but I read exactly what I put in an interview just before GTA5 was released. It was in GAMESMASTER magazine if anyone should wish to order back issues

Future map additions are the selling point for me.

I bought GTA V last year (per-ordered it) and played single player a lot (loved it).... played online quite a bit (it was enjoyable for the most part) and got bored with it early this year (around Jan., Feb.) and sold my copy (have not regretted it one bit). There has been nothing to make me regret it or want to re-buy the game. Very minimal updates with minimal content.... servers aren't fixed, still a bunch of glitchers, etc etc etc.... basically, right now, the only thing would get me to re-buy the game is a HUGE single player update or map add-ons (big map add-ons, like the map that guy made in this thread).

The problem is knowing R*, when they do come out with a map add-on it's going to be minimal (like everything else they do). They will add something the size of Los Santos downtown area that will take about 30min. to explore.

You can stop reading now if you want... I get a little off subject now...

Actually one main reason I sold my copy of GTA V is because R* was making minimal updates. Why keep a game that makes you sit around for months waiting for content that takes you 20min to play with and get bored with and then sit around for another couple of months?

I sold my copy because I figure I'll re-buy the game on next gen (which you'd have to be an idiot to not know it was going to be on next gen... I'm talking about knowing before the game was even released). I'm going to re-buy the game on next gen after it's had like 20 updates.... that way I get all the content, all at once.... AND as an added bonus, I get the game used for a lot cheaper than $60.

Ignore his always down ass, He goes against everything everyone says, he said the Hipster and Independence update were false and never coming and people were getting their panties in a twist, Yet when they bpth came he was no owhere to be found for a while, I bet if someone said his mom isn't a slut, He'll say "Wait my mom IS a slut"!

Why would they expand the map when they refuse to release content they promised 12months ago?!?

What's worse are the people holding their breath for map expansions....hope you guys don't pass out from lack of oxygen to your brain.

Christ... Nobody ever PROMISED anything. Why do people think R* owe us anything? Not one R* employee has gone on record saying "we promise this" or "we promise that"

We're not owed ANY content. We'll get what we're given when it's ready.

And YES there will be map expansions. It's just a matter of when.

Okay enough with the fighting now. This thread is here for a reason. We found a lot and we frankly don't care if you believe us or not...

That fan map is awesome, I would love that map. I think we would all love that map.

I personally think we will see a trailer in a few days on the 17th of September.

Then two weeks later the trailer for online will be released. Until then I don't think we will find anything else than what we found right now.

Well you know what I mean. I don't want this thread to be locked by the mods... that would suck xD

So staying friendly is always the best solution.

Back on topic now :-)
