Future map additions

I think that Paleto bay was originally supposed to be near San Fierro. Mostly because of the two streets, beach and truck stop named after proccopio. Proccopio was an infamous bandit who ran amok in the San Francisco area in the mid 19th century. Not to mention the ecosystem is more like northern than Southern California.

Well, I just went to Paleto Bay (and Sandy Shores)'s Sheriff departments...

BOTH fall under the jurisdiction of Los Santos County. (Yes, also Sandy Shores') not San Fierro County.

*I don't live in the USA, can someone explain how this is possible? Do the Counties just have to listen to Los Santos County (same laws etc.) or do they have their own laws. Because Blaine County and Paleto County apparently fall under the jurisdiction of Los Santos County...*

Ehhhhh not really how it works. There aren't counties within counties. Blaine county is it's own county, completely independent from ls county, just for some reason patrolled by the LSSD. If you look at the physical paper map that came with the game, there is no northern or eastern or western border to Blaine county. It's possible that the rest of Blaine county is on a neighboring island somewhere. That would actually explain why lssd are there, because it would be illogical for Blaine county to have a sheriffs department on two separate islands that are isolated from one another. They could have made a deal with lssd to provide emergency services for that part of Blaine county. It would also explain the lack of any Blaine county administrative buildings (courthouse etc.), as they could be on the other hypothetical island (or the mainland). Sorry if this doesn't make sense I'm just saying things that came to my head and made sense to me.

No it actually make a lot of sense, especially if Las Venturas is still a city in San Andreas. Blaine County could be partially over the border of an presumably Eastern San Andreas.

 

I hope we get some clearance in the future. We all want a giant map with at least the three most anticipated cities; Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas... Rockstar obviously want that too. ^^

Too much backcountry. We need more cities! :-P

Look at what i found. This is in a storefront near rockford hills. The LC clearly means Liberty City.

Everytime I see this, that song "I'm Coming Home" plays in my head.

There is no such thing as to much backcountry. XD I just miss san Fierro. Then I would be happy. Bigger deserts, forests and quite a few towns would be awesome!

 

I agree it would be great with extra desert and small towns, but it would be even better with San Fiero & Las Venturas

Can anyone image this (if this is possible) having a huge dlc after heists which have North Yankton, San Fierro, Liberty City & Las Venturas on it. That'd be great.

Ya know...in GTA:SA, I admittedly never spent half as much time in the deserts and backcountry areas as I did in LS, SF and LV. I'm a city slicker, what can I say? But I have made a second home out of Paleto Bay (without actually having a second home IN Paleto Bay, lol)...so I wouldn't mind more small towns and such. But I still want a GTAO version of Liberty City first and foremost.

I love the City in any gta game, but I love the countryside too.

I would love to have to drive for 10 minutes through countryside (with the regular towns) and then driving into another city. And the city must be all different. Just like in San Andreas, each city was very different. San Fierro gave me more the Liberty City (from IV) feeling, while Los Santos gave me the Hollywood and Las Venturas the Las Vegas, middle of nowhere etc. feeling.

I want that back

 

Well, according to the found information we could conclude that we are kinda lucky. We will probably see Northern San Andreas (with an island approximately the same size as V's Southern San Andreas, with San Fierro in the North West. This leaves the East widely to speculate about. Well; we know that the East will feature Red County, with farmlands and forests.

Hinted, but absolutely not confirmed, we could ALSO see this in Red County:

- Snowy mountains including Ski Resorts + the infamous Snowmobile and ski's/snowboards

- Another minor city loosely based of Sacramento

I'm just wondering, what information are you talking about?

I recently stayed at a hostel for a week in the tenderloin. The homeless there are nuts. My friend was offered crack, I saw one dodge an oncoming car exclaiming he's high as hell, another smashed a glass bottle 15 in front of me, piss smell everywhere, sh*t on the sidewalk.... It looks really awesome, would be really epic ^^ It probably looks closer then we think... San Fierro is in the right place, at least where I suspect it to be.

Maybe too much to the right? However, if there is an Eastern San Andreas it makes a lot of sense ;-)

This is very good. Though I think that there will be a town directly across from Paleto bay, and this town will still be part of Blaine county. NE of there will be Red County and NW of there will be San Fierro county. Woot Woot all aboard the hype train.

Personally, I would rather the Gant (Golden Gate) Bridge have a more geographically accurate North, South position/bearing, but that is just me. Looks good none the less

Yes, it does mean something. A postcard from ingame artwork, while not the most accurate info, can tell a lot. Sometimes the small things say a lot about things. For lack of a better term.

GTA's version of LA is TINY compared to actual LA. if R* scaled san fiero to their los santos, San fiero would probably be about the size of only the first island in gta 3.

 

That said, If they make san fiero I hope it is bigger than what that person made it to be. He did do a great job recreating the general geography though. Golden gate park, the presidio, twin peaks, the piers, SF airport. It just needs to be a bit bigger.
