GTA DUDE05
The shooter Prey 2 is probably actually as a spiritual successor to the action role-playing game System Shock 2 designed . This can be seen from at least two leaked presentations that are currently found at Scribd.com . The two stocked with numerous artworks documents also contain many details about the contents of Prey 2 , which is formed under the code name " Project Danielle ." Accordingly, it is to act no longer a classic shooter but an action role-playing game eventually . A unique playthrough takes the films according to the presentation of between 10 to 20 hours. However, the question who is to come , among others, by the support of different play styles materialize .. The flexible adaptation of the character , as well as various action options should be available from a high replay value. Furthermore, the developers obviously want to provide a lot of variety in the gameplay of Prey 2 . Among other things, numerous forces is mentioned, which are not necessarily come as attacks used. Also, a large number of gadgets should be available , but without concrete details are known . The combat system of Prey 2 is built according to the presentation on three legs. Thus, the player has the choice between melee , ranged, and the use of psionic powers such as the mental control of enemies. About the story of the game , some details are also included. Thus, the player one day wakes up in a high-tech laboratory and persecuted there a robot girl , for which he has previously programmed the AI. My name is Danielle . This leads to a chase across numerous laboratories and industrial complexes , and it probably comes to confrontations with aliens. From mutants is also in the presentation of the question. From the documents it appears that Prey 2 will appear in the third quarter of 2016 for the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. As a developer Arkane Studios is called . However, all these details are to be treated with caution. Already alone the fact that the Xbox One is still listed with their code name " Durango " , clearly shows how old these presentations seem to be. An official statement by Bethesda or Arkane Studios , there is not yet Leaked Documentation http://de.scribd.com/doc/227321234/Prey-2-Document-1 http://de.scribd.com/doc/227321489/Prey-2-Document-2 Prey 2's Trailer Edited June 2, 2014 by GTA DUDE05
Voodoo
The original Prey 2 thread is pretty old so we'll just make this the official now.
Abel.
This is one of the few games I'm looking forward to. The first title was excellent and though Prey 2 will be a completely different game, it looks stellar in it's own right based on the footage released. The first game is a brilliant synthesis between classic FPS/adventuring and modern aesthetics (it still looks good today). It also has a lot of innovative puzzles and an excellent atmosphere so if you've not played it yet, I would recommend it.

All the artwork and trailer in the OP is outdated. I hope it will be more like the original Prey game instead of a Mass Effect competitor. I was disappointed to hear the portals were scrapped, hopefully they are back in.
dante財閥
Resurrecting this thread from the depths. Prey (2017) is by far and away one of the most underrated video games ever made. Who else played it here? I think about it so much and how it completely flew under people's radars. It also seemed to get a lukewarm critical reception too. trip, smokeless6 and VenusianDream
smokeless6
I agree. I'm a big Arkane fan, as I was with Looking Glass. Prey is one of my top games of the past ten years. Played through at least three times, although I never did pick up Mooncrash. Great atmosphere, perfect world building, and a theme that nothing is ever as it appears. Mimics are a manifestation of this. I really enjoyed the zero G stuff. Yeah, great game all around. Edited May 4 by smokeless6 dante財閥

It's rare a game as good as that gets swept under the carpet. Especially as I feel Arkane is well loved for their other great titles. smokeless6
smokeless6
Yes, it should have been a hit. I always judge game design, not just how it feels to play, and Arkane are masters of game and sound design, from the UI to the mechanics to the story telling. Prey is a fantastic game experience, or at least I think it is. We speculated in a conversation on a different site that this game was hamstrung by its title, and the association with the failed game of the same name that preceded it before Arkane were asked to come in and get it out the door. I think if it had instead been called something like Psychoshock, a nod to the fact it feels like a spiritual successor to System Shock, then maybe it would have gotten more traction. Hard to say, but yes, I think it should have done far better than it did. Edited May 4 by smokeless6 VenusianDream and dante財閥
dante財閥
I think I'm with you on that branding issue. It feels like the original Prey was for a much different audience than this Prey was for, especially as it was essentially a System Shock spiritual sequel like you said. What a clusterf*ck. smokeless6
Yeah, maybe a bit of a damned if you do, damned if you don't sort of situation. There may not have been freedom to change the name of the IP? And anyway it's speculative whether that would have made a difference. I suspect it would have, or certainly could have, spurred some additional sales. Even so, word of mouth should have caught on here as I think it's a great game. The name might be an initial barrier but we should have moved past it. Maybe most just don't see the inherent quality of the game like we do. dante財閥
