Misbegotten cad Posted June 2, 2014 Share Posted June 2, 2014 I've been having big trouble winning races in GTA3 -untill I decided to try and use Tank! Here's how: Start the race with common car, and check out the course of the race. -try to find a good ambush spot along the course, tunnel or a narrow street or somesuch. Now, restart the race with a tank. Quicklly, drive the tank to the ambush spot and wait for the competition to arrive there. -when they do, just drive over them! Kaboom! Now that the other cars are gone bust, you can slowly drive through the checkpoints and onto the finish line! Result!!! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Especially if you do it early on before the Mafia hates you and shoots you with shotguns... Also, those Cheetah's in the race are BP/FP/EP (Bulletproof, Fireproof, Explosionproof)....You can use a Rhino Tank to obtain one. Just start the race, turn around and go back to the Portland safehouse road. Line your Tank up facing near the entrance to the hideout. At about 120 seconds the Cheetah will make it's round past the safehouse entrance. At this time, use the Tank to drive into it and forcing it into your hideout area. It'll blow up. Wait until it says Mission Failed and then quickly push the Cheetah with the Tank into the Garage, let the door close, and then open it again. Now you have a BP/FP/EP Cheetah. Video to show this: Could you shoot at it with the turret to move it, instead of running against it, pushing it with the tank, running against it, pushing it with the tank, etc... Misbegotten cad Posted June 4, 2014 Author Share Posted June 4, 2014 Interestingly, you cannot destroy all opposing cars at the startup with the tank. It seems two lead cars are invulnerable at the start of race. I tested this by blocking the street in front of the lineup with two tanks, then climbed on third tank and started the race. Plan was to trap all the cars and then smash them to pieces there and then! What happened, I hear you ask. Well, the two lead cars jumped over the tanks blocking the road, and sped towards the first checkpoint!!! Whaaaat??? -so, clearly they were programmed to be unstoppaple at the startup so as to prevent cheating like this. happily, the lead cars do become vulnerable later on, as I was able to smash them with the rhino at the ambush point... Lethal Vaccine Posted June 4, 2014 Share Posted June 4, 2014 Correct, at the start of the race, the Cheetahs are AP. But once the race stats, they become only BP/FP/EP. But you can obtain one and then use the Crusher Glitch to make it DP, so you can make your own AP Cheetah. I have an AP Cheetah, AP/EC Stretch, AP Bobcat, BP/DP Patriot, BP/DP Barracks OL, BP/FP Trashmaster, and BP/FP Securicar. I obtained every proof vehicle in GTA III, except the EP Securicar as I didn't want it. It's not needed since I have a BP/FP one. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Nukey Shay Posted June 7, 2014 Share Posted June 7, 2014 Opponent vehicles will respawn on the coarse whenever attempts to resolve fail. To see this in action, you can use a Codebreaker disc to unlock all vehicles. Without starting the race, approach the passenger side of each one of them to steal them and drive to wherever you want...then nudge one or get in the starting circle to begin the "race". The driverless cars will proceed at a slow pace (you can even have the game drive for you if you are in an opponent vehicle when hitting a checkpoint!). If you parked an opponent someplace off the coarse (like on the riverfront pier), it'll respawn on the road nearby. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
