GTA V Appartments

I feel like appartments in GTA V online are pointless and way over priced. Spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to do what? Get drunk, high, watch stupid cartoons, and take a shower? I know you get the garage but I can buy a 10 car garage if I want for way cheaper. I think they should add a lot more things to do in your appartment for the price you pay for it.

GTA-Freak-Vi

You forgot the healthy Green drink. That alone is enough to make it worth getting the apartment as its the perfect way to kick start your day before heading out for chaos around LS.

They should add a pool, darts or even foosball.

I agree.

The green juice means so much to me, that if someone else drink it, he/she die, no matter itsa friend or crew mate.

Nobody said you HAD to get an apartment...

Seems to be a common mentality, if there is something in the game that you can buy, then you must buy it. As if it's required to get a perfect score or something. That's why so many players argue against adding anything to the game that they personally won't use or don't want, as if they'll be forced into it if it were added. If they don't want it, then no one can have it.

Which also contributes to many of those same people bitching about not having enough money to buy said things, which obviously means that R* is FORCING everyone to buy cash cards... As opposed to them, you know, picking and choosing what they do and don't want, while maintaining a budget.

To normal people, that line of thinking is ridiculous, but unfortunately, to a certain segment of people, it makes complete sense.

Well that's not quite what I meant. I was saying I just feel that they should add more features to the appartments for the price we pay. I never said they should be taken out or anything.

The only thing I don't like about the apartment/garage system right now is the price penalty for upgrading. Not just because it's unrealistic (ignoring the recent housing market collapse) but because players like me will not bother with low or mid end properties and go straight for the high end stuff and miss out on the role playing part of "working your way up". I really wish I would have started with a low end place and then a mid end, before getting my high end apartment.

Maybe I'll start a second character someday...

Look at it this way:

The most expensive 10 car garage is $150k

The cheapest apartment is $200k

$50k isn't that big of a price difference... I certainly wouldn't classify it as "way cheaper."

You're really paying for the location, since all of the apartments/garages look the same on the inside.

Strategically, IMO, there are better and worse apartments to be in, so the ones that give you an advantage, location-wise, should cost more.

I wouldn't be against more features, per se... Maybe if R* gets the glitching/hacking/modding under control, they can focus on things like that, instead of having to worry about things like UFO's being modded in by people who can't be bothered to play the game as it was intended.

My guess is, many people didn't work up that way, due to the $500k gift that R* gave everyone early on...

I started with the cheapest 2 car garage after I saved enough for it then just kept that until I had enough for the 10 car... In retrospect, perhaps R* should have unlocked 2 car garages/apartments at a certain level, then 6 car, then 10 car, in effect forcing everyone to work their way up, as opposed to just being able to jump into a 10 car apartment right away...

Maybe then, some would understand that a big part of the game is the journey your character takes to get to the top, instead of having that "have to have everything now" mentality.

Before R* allowed players to own 2 properties, I thought it would have been better to allow players to own 1 of each class. A garage, a low-end apartment, a mid-end, and a high-end. 4 properties total, but only garage space for 20-28 cars, depending on which garage you buy. I would have prefered that personally.

One of the trophies required you to own a garage and an apartment... The way it was worded, I was under the impression that you would need to own one of each at the same time... Perhaps that was the plan, but got cut due to technicalities...?

I would be cool with the idea you had... Would have allowed players to canvas the map a bit more, while not really allowing more storable car slots than we have now... Maybe that'll be possible in the future, assuming they can get all of the glitching, modding and hacking locked down a bit better.

Dunno how crazy I am with the idea of just allowing everyone to own every property on the map, though, as some have suggested... Seems like too much, IMO.
