Camsterguy
Since the tailgater can have a carbon roof, can you remove the roof like someone did with the elegy?

*MURDOC*
You can only do it with certain cars that have modifiable roofs. For example, you can remove the roof on the buccaneer because it has the "painted roof" option available, but it looks like sh*t from most angles since the window glass and trim is still there. I just tried what Camsterguy on 7sins did and glass just hovers above the tailgater which still has a roof. The tailgater has a carbon roof option but it still didn't work. I replaced a phoenix that had a glass roof with a tailgater.
Wendy Testaburger
What about the Ruiner? People are saying if you set its advanced options to 0 in the save editor it removes the T top for a complete no roof look... But for me it still keeps the T

The options are either glass or color plates to cover the holes.

EDANBURGH
Does anyone have a sort of program to make this easier? It is easy, just time consuming. It's generally about guess work as well when it comes to parts "fitting" other cars. Read through all the pages of this thread as people have had questions answered on numerous occasions. You only need a USB device, Save Editor and Hex Editor. Once you get the process down you'll be doing it on autopilot. If you get confident with it you can be creating 6 vehicles at once (as long as you have all three characters unlocked). The Deadite
LiquidNitrogen
Does anyone have a sort of program to make this easier? I have some experience with autoit 3 and have made programs before. I'm sure I could make one that can quickly edit the PSIN for you so you won't have to do it manually. You would still have to extract and replace the PSIN via the save editor though. Also I need to find a command line utility for hex editing to make it easier. Can't seem to find one. CallumL
Some of the cars I've seen here, aren't that bad looking, but what I've mostly seen is spoilers centimetres above the roofs and random bonets sticking out of nowhere. Jesus...
Ninja_Gear
You can also use this method to place CE DLC vehicles into your garage if you do not have the CE. Nice. wait so swaping another car with a CE car lets you keep it in campaign? Yep. Delta India Echo

Nice. wait so swaping another car with a CE car lets you keep it in campaign? Yep. Holy sh*t. You can even drive/ride CE cars/bike and store it back in one of the main characters garages without ever losing them. 'Micheals house, Tevors stripclub/desert stash or Franklins crib garage can all be used to store these DLC vehicles' They only vanish in the buyable garages. Keepd giving me a error everytime I try and open it When you download it you get the Downloads you might need on left top of the page, click it and download msvcr100.dll and put it in your system32 folder that is in your windows folder. And this isn't one of those retarder "haha delete system32" trolls.. Edited August 1, 2014 by Amistrulez Mr Shakotan
SeaWallTx
Since the tailgater can have a carbon roof, can you remove the roof like someone did with the elegy? I would say yes for 1 reason, just hear me out, next time you are leaving online and spawn into story mode as Micheal and he is in traffic in his tailgater keep pressing start to quickly pause and unpause the game. If your game is like mine the roof on his tailgater will be the last thing to spawn on screen and for a split second you will see a tailgater without the middle roof section. Not unlike the Bucaneer, Elegy RH8, or the Panto(the only storable non-convertible convertible). As for how to make it stick IDK and I haven't tried, I haven't tried because 99% of this stuff is not storable. AdobeFlash
Might be nice to find out the hex code for the UFOs, the one above Fort Zancudo (weird black one) and the silver one with lights. Then it may be possible to change a helicopter hex to the UFO? For singleplayer gameplay.
Ethanh59
The UFOs aren't vehicles. They're static map objects added in at a certain point in game, just like the destroyed hotel after the Paleto score. Hence why you wouldn't be able to do said change. iliev77
