Why do the NPCs have aim bot

Recommended Posts

The missions give what it deserves to complete the mission? Funny. I get chump change for doing that joke of a mission Rooftop Rumble.

You're right. You shouldn't even get 4k for that 3-step, 3 minute mission.

The fact your character always takes an extra step when you're done aiming, bothers me.

Ah f*ck i know! Im constantly moving forward unintentionally instead of rolling and shooting when losing and trying to reaquire lock when they roll which almost always results in my death as im climbing over a wall or falling off a roof while they shoot me in the face. Then I will frequently accidentally activate the worthless f*cking quick action that cannot be set to none so that instead of spinning around quickly and targeting the f*cker behind me ill put my gun away and pull out a smoke or flip the bird and go for a little walk or do some other equally stupid long action that cannot be cancelled in the middle of a gunfight which renders your character unresponsive to input commands and results in my death. When I do manage to spin around by looking behind me its never a 180 degree spin cause it appears to be based on which way your character is facing and not the direction the camera is pointing which is f*cking gayer than a bag of dicks since theres no way to center the camera quickly. annoying as f*ck to be sure, lol!

Chasing those damn trucks are a pain. And it puts up a challenge. Rooftop Rumble is hard as s**t and annoying. But is short. So it should pay out slightly less. Edited by LightningLord411

i agree. theres no way that mission pay 18K and when you gotta drive halfway across the map killing multiple f*cktarded bikers with shotguns who insta kill you and then take a boat a few miles which takes forever you only get 2500? all the hard missions that are actually a challenge and take longer to complete usually pay barely anything and the easiest fastest f*cking mission in the game pays the most. suck my balls, makes zero sense. You whiny ass noobs are lucky rockstar gives you this gift, they could be making your noob ass outrun cops in a cargobob for the high payout missions, then youd have something to bitch about, haha!

I tried "Dish the Dirt" for Gerald one day. You have to go to the damn desert. Steal the coke. Snipers and MG guys EVERYWHERE. WTF. Grab the coke. 3 guys in cars and SMG's attack. Go ALL THE WAY BACK GERALD'S PLACE SURVIVING CRAZY ACCURATE GUYS WITH SMG'S. I got $1,500.

REALLY?!?

Video games played on hard are never fair.

If you think the sh*t is ridiculous play it on normal or easy and you'll have nothing to bitch and moan about on here.

The only thing I have a gripe about is them respawning out of thin air right beside you over and over.

There nothing wrong with the aim of the enemies when the game is set on hard.

the only thing ive found to be different on hard is that it requires more bullets to kill them and a few enemies that keep spawning every so often for certain missions. It didnt seem like their accuracy or damage dealt from them was any different but its been a long time since i played anything but hard and Ive not played them all on all difficulties. Only using hard after i discovered it gave more rp and money, but this is all ive noticed for the ones that i have played on multiple levels of difficulty. I dont really find any mission to actually be hard when set to hard, except the out of harmony or whatever where youre timed and steal the truck and drive 5 miles. The only way i was able to beat that one is by ignoring the gps and looking at the map and taking a more efficient route. f*cking dumbass GPS makes you take unnecessary corners all the time zig zagging you to the waypoint when youre in the city with lots of roads in a grid and it isnt very efficient, lol! I am higher level with all maxed out stats and play auto aim which speeds them up. Ive played a few on free aim for more RP and the timed ones are a bitch if you dont have more people cause it takes way longer to kill the enemies.

What about those of us who play on Free-Aim? We don't have aimbots. Regardless, OP has a point. The NPCs are just ridiculous with their shots. I LOL'd at sniping with a baseball bat. I've had an experience where I would be flying at max speed of a supercar right past a NPC, and their shot could register on me.

The AI really is stupid. Their aimbots are one of the things that really upset me about this game. It's stupid. I could be flying in a helicopter and bikers could be hitting me with a pistol. Gangsters with low firearm training are pulling off impossible shots with micro-smgs.

I grab an objective, and they spawn in their vehicles traveling at 200 mph and they have the accuracy of a Navy Seal.

Then, there's the dreadful health glitch. An NPC could shoot you once and your health bar will glitch red, even though it's at half (which should be green). If an NPC so much as grazes you with a bullet, you're dead. I'm so sick of it...

FIX YOUR GAME ROCKSTAR

I play free-aim as well.

The difference is that I welcome the challenge. It's reminiscent of the 8-bit games; don't f*ck around, stay focused and overcome the opposition.

Most people rage if they can't pass a mission on their first try.

Because of the AI having brilliant aim; it's forces me to stay on my A-game as well as improve my reaction and accuracy...and it pays off big in DMs.

Hell, this game's AI isn't that hard; GTA III's cops were more ruthless what with their ramming their cars at you rather than trying to stop you...and the military with their m16's? Good luck surviving 25 seconds...

No fair Rockstar! Make sh*t easy!

Finally, someone cuts the bullsh*t and just states they want to win without any effort whatsoever.
Did he edit this out of his post after you said that? Lol

Yup. His post says he edited out later....probably because of how inane it sounded I guess.

That's 60k credits rockstar owe me just from today.

Hehehehe....owes you.Yup. You are right. Though, at least gangsters with pistols in III weren't extremely accurate.

I mean, I welcome the challenge, but it's quite funny that every NPC in V shoots like he/she recieved Spetsnaz training. Even shop clerks, lol.

Edit: on phone. Too lazy to edit quote train. Ain't nobody got time fo' dat.

I'm sorry, but if you play auto aim, and still have trouble with A.I, then quite frankly... you suck.

Granted, they sometimes make impossible shots, but really? If you're a decent auto aimer then you won't have any problem. Just press two buttons to win, what's so hard? I played auto aim the other day and everything on my screen died in seconds. True story. :bored:

It's a legit problem in free aim though. A.I have better aim than half the free aimers I met.

Reverse entity seems to be the best solution. That, and cover.

In Titan Of A Job, if you are on the west side of the hanger entrance, you experience an npc shooting through the Titan from the other side.

Also, npcs have great success hitting you when you are crouched on the other side of a Granger, and the shots aren't at your feet...

Dan_Houser_Official

The range of the people that have pistols and SMGs on coveted is ridiculous. Even the ones down by where the cargobob land spray their SMG and take me to half health, even with the heaviest armour

blackindia

It sure is annoying at times! Especially when your on red and take cover and they still manage to hit you behind a wall.

Also really wished they fixed the stupid ways of how the enemy spawns on you.

Also a fix for the armour. Instead of carrying 10 vests with you. Make you have one that works and dont deplet in 2 shots.

When AI is dumber in Online, it's understandable. But to totally increase power and accuracy of the enemies is really a cheap design. That's still minus the unlimited spawn and pop-up from behind. First they appear whenever they want, they know wherever you are, and they're carrying a firearm that automatically targeting at us with an accuracy of sniper rifle.

Inb4 Rockstar fanboys defending Rockstar saying that the game's just fine, enemies are still easy to kill in Free Aim and think Rockstar should buff enemies more.

Why do 90% of the people here not know when to use (you, your, you're (you are)). A or an? Grammar on this forum is on a 10 year olds education. And I don't mean all the people that don't speak english as a first language but the trolls that never payed attention in school.

Everyone knows the difference, most people these days type on a phone with swipe keys and it introduces a lot of unintended errors.

Talk about NPC's with incredible drive-by accuracy, range and incredibly fast stock cars, seriously. Their Grangers, Fugitives and even the Daemons can catch up to a fully upgraded Zentorno. I get that it'll be more challenging - I can accept straight up shooting while on foot, but when it comes to drive-bys and NPC range with certain weapons, it becomes annoyingly stupid. Pistols have the same range as a player sniper rifle, SMG's have more damage than player assault rifles, etc. Their drive-by pistol shots can hit your car from like how many miles away (okay, that's a bit exaggerated) and even NPC's shooting from helicopters can damage your health while your going at 100mph. Even though you're flying a Buzzard/any helicopter at a high enough altitude to not get hit from player shots (like sniper range), you'll get damaged from pistols and micro SMG's.

I'm not pissed at this..just annoyed.

Some do, not most. Still, it's the internet, a lot of people have really bad grammar even if they're typing on a computer.

When I first started playing GTAO coming up on a year ago this June, I would have agreed with every complaint about the AI/NPC shooting, aiming, and resiliency to being shot. After playing a while, though, I have come to realize that by and large they aren't that hard to deal with. I can play in free aim or full assist and get mostly the same results, to be honest. I think one problem with this game with the combat, is something nobody is really talking about, which is the cover system really isn't good at all. It's clunky and clumsy, yet the npcs seem to be able to use it incredibly well.  But even with that, I can fight my way out of any AI battles I get into, whether doing prep work and dealing with enemies, or missions where I have to fight a hoard of them. I am not good at PvP, probably because I don't try to make enemies in rooms and mostly play alone or with friends. Some of the people I have friended who are very good at PvP say the combat against the AI is very easy to them. I am somewhere in the middle. I don't think it's anywhere near as bad or difficult as I did 8-10 months ago, but the AI in this game still has the ability to catch me if I'm napping and not paying attention.

Also, if you are in a really tough skirmish, have you considered opening up your snack menu and leaving it open while you are in a combat situation? With the ability to macro your snacks and armor, while aiming during gunplay, is almost overpowering to the player in a way. The only real complaint I have, and I suspect this is done on purpose, is that in my opinion, if you are doing a mission, and some of the REALLY difficult ones come to mind where you are doing some of the Doomsday Finales, if you fail the mission or die, and used a ton of your snacks, they don't replenish at the beginning of your retry/restart. I always liked games that, when you are sent back to the beginning, they reload your ammo and other consumables. This game makes it very cumbersome if you're having difficulty with a mission, because after a few bad retries, you could be out of snacks completely. Then if you need them, you have to quit the mission, go to your arcade, facility, or sub, replenish your snacks and start the whole thing over again. It isn't like this even makes it more challenging, just most tedious and time consuming to take 5 or more minutes, go buy snacks, start the whole thing over again, etc. They could even fix this by allowing players to buy snacks at the beginning of am R2 restart, just as you can buy ammo to refill that.

One bullet takes half of my health!!! It's insane how accurate they are. They can snipe me with a baseball bat and still get a headshot from 200 meters away. And they're so annoying most of the time. They are the reason I rage on GTA. It seems like enemy NPCs have more health than me. This makes me wanna get in a tank and go on a rampage! And somehow cops found a way shoot me through a tank too! "Go away NPCs. It's not my day."

Lazy programming, pure and simple.

NPC's in GTA V have "aimbot" the same way every other enemy in every other videogame has "aimbot". Wouldn't be very fun or challenging if they had the same crappy aim of the people who are complaining about it... What's the point of having NPC enemies with guns if they aren't accurate? It won't motivate you to actually PLAY the game like it was meant to and develop skill and use your health items and tactics, etc... Might as well take away your health bar and make yourself invincible to avoid getting your feelings hurt cuz NPC's shot you or killed you. BTW the NPC's in GTA V are not even the best marksmen or difficult enemies compared to other games, not by far. LOL

At the time there is a mass of casuals in gta 5. They use only mk 2 and cant belive that a npc has beter aim than them. I had anl mk 2 griefer in my Lobby sniped him with bst and he reportet me for cheating (on xbox)

I mean sure... if you think that most of the game's characters should be able to use a pistol and hit you accurately from over 100m away, or the idea that the blind fire that NPCs "use" is far more accurate than the blind fire any player can "use".

Then there's the rapid fire bug. No level of skill is going to save you from that when your entire bar of health and armour are depleted in half a second. Obviously I don't need to mention that holding a trigger down on the vast majority of automatic rifles generally means that the 2nd, 10th and last bullet isn't going to go where the first one went due to muzzle lift or recoil.

There's also seemingly no scaling of skill. Private security (Merryweather) and the Military - sure they should have the top level of marksmanship ability. The higher level police units should be a step down from that, with the standard police units a further step down again. After that it's just the random street citizen / gang banger, who should have the lowest accuracy of them all.

Some things are just "off" in this game. Some NPCs should be harder to deal with but there's also a lot of BS too.

EDIT - oh and there's something else I've forgotten to moan about here, that being the accuracy level of NPCs firing at you from moving vehicles. Look - there's just no way you're going to be as accurate as some of them are with automatic weapons, yet you can boost away in a vehicle and the follow-up shots can hit you pretty consistently.
