Managed to beat the story mode tonight, which is a surprise to me given how bad I am at fighting games in general and getting stuck at some point in MK9's. The ending was really predictable, especially with Cassie Cage becoming the new Mortal Kombat champion, basically taking Liu Kang's place. This was made predictable due to the very beginning of MKX's story where Johnny takes him down. Along with that, the ending just felt very abrupt, as it feels like the story was just wrapped up real quick after Shinnok was made the new threat to the realms. The after-credits ending was partially predictable as well, with Raiden absorbing all the evil energy from the Jinsei, although I didn't expect him to become the way he did. I thought he was going to become 100% evil, rather than tired of taking sh*t from the other realms. I'm actually really excited to see how he is going to be in MK11. Besides that, just a tip to everyone out there, changing your kombat card is the best way to make bank. Just try and unlock backgrounds, emblems, and borders that give you the most koins. I get 400 bonus coins per match with, so every match gives me at the least around 580 koins, it's pretty neat. Trying to unlock the entire krypt right now so I barely play online, especially since I don't feel I'm good enough with Erron Black yet. Lock n' Stock Posted April 27, 2015 Share Posted April 27, 2015 Picked up a copy on PS4 and am really enjoying it so far, even as someone who never played the last game. Engaging story mode, brutal as sh*t fatalities and fun new characters, has alot of what I'd want from an MK game. Even then, I can't help but feel like it has a few things missing. DAMN!! some are cartoony as f*ck, they look like they tried too hard, new characters look pretty lame tho, the only one who looks cool are the bug chick and Kothal Khan IMO. still can't wait to get in PS3. one last thing, glad they put some clothes on Sonya, she looked really stupid in the last game. His variations are vastly different especially since the slasher one with the machete gives him completely different normals just like with Scorpions ninjitsu variation. His other two variations contain command grabs, reminding me of Solomon Grundy from Injustice. Jason is cool and all, but his slasher variation is like a slower version of Kotal Kahn's war god variation, with a few added moves. Definitely not going to replace Kitana or Sonya with him as my main, but he's definitely fun to play as in all 3 of his variations.
