Connection cover ups?

So my wi-fi isn't all that great, and sometimes it is great. But tonight has been my worst night of GTAO so far.

 

I know many of you have experienced "Timed out locating session", "Unknown connection error", things like that. Well I've gotten a sh*t load of that tonight.

 

Now the reason I say "cover up" is because I was playing with my buddy and three others, 5/16 in session, and I got that "unknown error" bullsh*t. So I went to rejoin him about 45 seconds later and it says the session is "full of players". Yeeeaaah, no. I highly doubt 11 people joined in that very short time. I even messaged him and he said no one joined. So after that it went to redirect me to another session and it "timed out". And after that the only thing I'm getting now is "Unable to find a compatable GTA Online session" or just "Timed out".

 

Has this ever happend to anyone recentlly or at all? I'm getting quite irradiated...

You answered your own question with the first statement of the OP. Its not a cover up its your internet.

 

Ive gotten those messages before and 100% of the time its because im downloading something or doing something besides playing GTA that takes up a large amount of bandwidth and as soon as i stop my connection to GTA magically improves.

I have 100% internet connection and i still time out and freeze so sometimes it IS R* but most of the time is it your own connection problems

I mean just tonight though. A lot of the time I'm on GTAO it sends me back to SP like 4 times a day. Usual for me. But tonight just sucks.

I have two Ps3s ib my house, one is a hard wired console, the other is on a wireless connection

 

my internet conection is 60 / 8

 

I rarely have any issues with the wired ps3

but the wireless one did have a lot of issues until i went into my router settings and gave my wireless console prioty over some of the other items hooking to internet.....

The wireless console can still have a little trouble at times, but its not to bad ......maybe once a week or so i will get the connection errors you guys are talking about

The session full sh*t is annoying as hell. I held a Phoenix for a friend recently and even though there were 2 free slots, it took forever for him to finally be able to get in the lobby.

I had an early night last night, I just gave up in the end trying to get into lobbies.

 

Connection timed out

Unable to connect to session

Player is no longer in session

Connection to the session lost due to an unknown network error

Its gotta be on Rockstar's end for me. I have my PS3 wired directly to a 50Mb down/25Mb up connection with 5ms ping yet I still get these errors.

 

Only GTA lags and looses connection Battlefield doesnt lag, watch dogs doesnt lag, not even ghosts! It has to be on their end...

Exactly. I dont bother reading them anymore because they all say the same thing to me...connection lost. I started off playing with the xbox wirelessly connected to router...it was horrible. Then I added the wire to the router and it got better but was still more than I liked. Now I have the xbox wired directly to the modem skipping the router all together and things have gotten much better but it still happens now and then. It boils down to the game is pushing the limits of what this console can do and the more convolution between the console and the server the more you will have issues. You have to keep everything as streamlined as possible and keep your hardrive maintained and clean etc. And even then you will still see it happen now and then.

I'm on X-Box, my connection is wired and stable. I get all the same issues. People are self-righteous cocktards.

 

 

Maybe, and it's just a maybe here - it's down to the servers? I often play early (6am) and I'm always with a lot of Americans despite being based in the UK, if I'm on an American server I expect that would lead to more problems no?

nah if it was the PSN, then you get signed out of it too as soon as you loose connection in GTA.

 

And when you get an error in both gta and psn and get signed out, its usually on your end.i always only loose connection in GTA, and to PSN only when my router decides to stop working...

its more than likely not your connection. many people including me have gotten those stupid errors and there is nothing wrong with my connection. wired or wireless make no difference, unless you have weak wifi or interference of course. Some of my friends show as offline in the game even though im in the same session and playing with them sometimes, not sure what thats all about, pretty annoying though, lol! im about sick of the lag and problems in this game, i dont lag in any other game and the internet test comes back perfect so it has to be rockstar. Ive gotten killed quite a few times when i shouldnt have because its lagging so much that when i press the buttons to change my gun too fast it doesnt work, then i gotta press it again and hold it longer to get it to work and by then usually youre dead. Was never this bad until the holiday weekend and i was hoping that it was due to many more people playing the game and after it was over it would go away but sadly it hasnt yet.
