Design Creator and internet acution house.

Recommended Posts

Hi there. For a long time, there is some issue that I keep in mind in hope to be implemented in the future. Its designing graphics tool, similar to emblem creator, expanded, like FORZA-ish decal creator (saving small pieces of shapes, spray brush etc). I hope that Rockstar is thinking about it, since they want to give player tools, not products.

Such tool could be used to design artworks for clothes, paint jobs or even graffities. We should have chance to save reasonable amount of projects and sell them, as one and unique (preferable for cars) and as regular limitless product (clothes) on internet auction house (the whole Social Club should be available in-game)

Its a fact that there is a lot of creatice heads, that create many cool things, so why dont give them a chance to basically run their own brand. Such things could be rated by community, and actually have an impact on the game, like stock marketing or somethin like that, but its not a must to have everything at the start. Just peronal gallery of private projects.

Do you think its a good idea? Would you fight for it? Or you think that such options are somehow bad? Why? Let me know

Cheers, EVD, Poland.

First, they would need to solve the horrible low res textures other players see when looking at a crew emblem or tattoo.

Completely agree with above

But yeah, it could be an alright idea, but all i see in my head is 12 year olds with giant penises on their cars.

i imagine rockstar would want a large cut... its not about whats going to make players happy its about whats going to make the most amount of money for them... sadly

To be frank, that's f*cking stupid. If that was true they would of made you pay for the already released DLC and many more things. They're being pretty generous with the game so far. It's not their fault people are babies.

You already did pay for the DLC when you bought the game, R* currently is sitting on 3.5 BILLION dollars from game sales and that's not even counting cash card sales.

The fact is R* even after paying taxes and payouts to their shareholders will still be sitting on 12 times the amount it cost to make the game.

So really R* shouldn't even be needing cash cards, but they post on average 60 mil per month from cash card sales.

SO yeah, we paid for this 'free' DLC and to be honest for that kind of money we deserve so much more for our buck. They need to do some serious dev love for this game.

First, they would need to solve the horrible low res textures other players see when looking at a crew emblem or tattoo.

Yeah, thats weak as f*ck, especially when you consider that thousands of textures are loaded in 3-4 minutes. I know its a matter of global internet connection diversity, but such small textures could be loaded in background, with very small transfer consumption. Yeah, you would see at first those low quality textures, but when the other players spend more than lets say 30 seconds with you, this should automatically load hi-res textures. and the problem is gone.

But yeah, it could be an alright idea, but all i see in my head is 12 year olds with giant penises on their cars.

tools like as flagging and rating should let avoid such infantile stuff...

...and to be honest I wouldnt mind paying for such software reasonable amount of cash.

Thats because of two facts: generousitty has its own limits, and i preffer free stuff that i cant make myself, and the second, the childish graphics problem. Whats the point to pay 15$ for graphic creator, when your projects will be immediately flagged and bad rated.

Im happy that they're rich as f*ck, and I understand that this is payout for their hard work. payout for delivering one of the most billiant games. We should'nt be niggardly for that fact, since the price of the game was the same as 90% of bad and sh*tty ones.

good idea,

only I don't think Last Gen could handle these high res textures... -.-

Next gen/current gen however, I think it is possible and it would be a fun feature to have :)

And I guess only In game currency, not real life currency of course :p

let the creative minds be free! all hail R*!

I agree that the low res textures are annoying, but there are alot of textures to load when playing this game.

I have said it many times before. Releasing huge games on pangea-age consoles is a very stupid idea regarding quality. Xbox 360 come with 512 mb video ram, ps3 with 256mb. This is very little for a huge game released in 2013. There is hardly any ram in the consoles either... And dont get me started on the clock speed....

The distant-graphic in this game is horrible. You cant see people in the sniper rifle unless theyre close to you. If you drive a fast car, youre driving ahead of the graphics, resulting in pure gravy-graphics. The 360 and ps3 are not made for these kind of games.

It will get better when/if released for ps4, xbox one and PC.

They busted their ass with this game for years. Damn right they deserve to be rich! :p

I'm also waiting for a ''next gen''/PC version. Imagine how much more content we would have had, these consoles barely handle the game.

The OP pretty much described the essence of Second Life, where every player has the tools to create objects and load textures in the virtual environment. I certainly wish that Rockstar would open up the GTA0 world to a whole different class of users for Second Life type of interaction, with tools and resources to create things as the OP suggests, and then all of us killbots could also benefit.

There would have to be limits on the total number or size of textures, and the number of 3D objects, that we could create, else it would lag the virtual world, just like griefers used to do in Second Life in the early days.

So, OP, you mean like the Forza games?

yeah man, just look at this movie, its ridicolous, WE NEED THIS FEATURE BAD.

I would love to open up a shop that sells premium/custom beach-houses for $500,000-1,000,000 each or maybe lower quality for less money.

it can be possible if R* provide similar to PS Home furniture setting mechanism, with object buyable by in-game currency and described above by me design creator for paintings and posters. Then such apartment (much more likely to be apartment because they are located limitless in same building) can be sold out in internet auction house, by in-game currency.

No. People already make their cars ugly enough, no need to give them the tools to make them even more hideous.

dont measure other people by your own yard-stick dude.

anyway, I imagine spending hours to create wicked paint jobs

How do you think that many people afforded the items in the UPDATES? Yup, they bought Shark Cards...

...it's the same model that Mafia Wars/FarmVille/etc. ran (or still runs) on...come out with new sh*t that has to be purchased in-game with a specific "currency" and if you don't have enough, you can simply buy more...

...or the "Ultimate Teams" in Madden or whatever EA Sports games they have them in, they add stuff every week that encourages players to drop real money for virtual "coins"...

...now, why don't people walk around talking about how "generous" Zynga and EA are??????

...and, Rockstar could not have charged for the "already released DLC" because those releases are update patches primarily for the Online model of the game.

Failing to purchase said updates, if there was a charge, would mean you couldn't access GTA Online anymore. The only thing Rockstar could do however, is charge for "special" things as mentioned in a post above (#23) which would give those paying players extra weapons/ vehicles/ advantages etc.

there is no exclusive content for payers. Cash cards are for people who can afford them and want expensive items faster. Cool your butt man. Everyone has the same content, besides of collector's edition owners.

Tomorrow I'll write something about graffities aspect of design creator ;)

If you suck that much at such a easy game as this one to earn in-game cash, that you resort to spending real money for fake money, then you need to sell your system and games, and contact a financial adviser to help you plan out your money usage.

And BTW, this game does not force micro transactions on the player, there is nothing cash cards can get you that just playing the game can get you.

There is no exclusive content in the Zynga/EA games I mentioned earlier, so you have failed to point out a difference

And what about those people who work long hours or have family and kids to feed?

Perhaps those people should as you suggest, sell their system and games.

A silly and nonsensical argument really.

See, you're not understanding the concept, it's based on the fanatical player that "has" to have everything new as it comes out, it's based on the minority, not the majority...

...people obsess over being the best or being competitive so they spend real money on games to "even up" the game with the top/aggressive players...

...and someone just getting into Online NOW would feel extra compelled to buy Shark Cards to "catch up" to where the other players are...it's a lot harder to start out now than it was back in October when we were ALL low levels, working our way up, later, glitched money helped a lot of people out of the grinding that they would otherwise have had to do to buy items and apartments...so many potential Shark Card sales lost during that era

A silly and nonsensical argument really.

I'm not talking about those who don't have time to play, but to the lazy and skill-less.

Like the sad people who message me every couple of lobbies, begging for me to dupe cars for them to sell, and the verbally berating me when I say Hell No.

I should be more direct.

Sorry about missing the point, fallout from earlier on different forum, people whining about others buying weapons and ranks just to grief.
