plarson17
Will this even be possible. what do you guys think about it. I did a post on this on GTA 5 fourms. I just found out there is a gta series chat. universetwisters
Of course. As a GTA player, I always dreamed of walking into a back-alley florist shop only to browse for twenty seconds and leave. plarson17 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/711856-go-inside-every-building-idea/#findComment-1065474089 Share on other sites
Alpha Demigod
Even if the hardware allows it, the manpower won't. Imagine the wasted time, budget, and energy that would go into modelling and texturing thousands of interiors. And plus...it isn't sensible at all. Who in the right mind would go inside EVERY building. Unless you have a severe form of autism and OCD at once. As in many aspects of life, the middle ground is good. Key interiors should be fleshed out, one's that fit the world. Banks, stores, strip clubs, malls, etc. Drunken Cowboy, Heists and BLOOD 3 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/711856-go-inside-every-building-idea/#findComment-1065474105 Share on other sites
Sawnek
I agree with having a large variety of interiors, but not having every building open for the player to explore. As Dark Bordeus mentions above, the developers would be wasting too much time on pointless interiors. I feel like it would be pointless because there would be so many useless interiors for different places. There's also the hardware requirements too, having a large city where nearly all or every interior is accessible, I doubt it could handle it. A complaint that has been mentioned with GTA V is the lack of interiors, and I agree that there should be far more interiors, just not every building in the city. tehSpitefulPotato
EVERY building in game? Even the office towers with identical rooms? Even the apartment buildings and houses you don't even have keys from? Weird. A list of interiors which could actually work: Obviously, safehouses. Shops, banks, malls - but R* would have to find a use for each of them. Story-related interiors. For example, a house where protagonist's friend lives, a shop which is owned by a mission-giving guy, or an office where another mission-giving guy works. Fire stations, hospitals, police stations and taxi depots, where you can start the firefighter/ambulance/vigilante/taxi driver missions. Though I don't know how to implement this realistically, maybe sneaking into a cloakroom, changing your clothes, and going to the back yard parking lot? Train stations and airports. Train stations' purpose is obvious. About airports - since I don't think GTA's map will ever be large enough for actual flights (SA is an example of bad implementation), there could be some airport-related side activity. For example, where you have to silently murder some person arriving. Landmarks, like the Rotterdam Tower. Crap, now I want a game like this. Maybe make my own GTA clone?.. killdrivetheftvehicle
If every interior was unique, it would not make any sense, because some interiors would never be seen. However, if some interiors were made GTA SA style identical, it could work. Like in a burglary mission, there would only be a limited number of unique interiors, whereas the other interiors would be picked from a handful of interiors. Liver Buster
Not every building available. I don't know but that'd be unnecessary. Literally. Like suggested above, interiors like safehouses, stores should be available, of course. Besides them, I'd like to see some distinctive, interesting interiors such as drug labs, mysterious apartment flats (you remember the bloody bathroom apartment flat from Vice City? Like that), backalley brothels etc. Such interesting interiors would give GTA the soul, maybe the gritty atmosphere every GTA needs. I'm in favour of these kinds of interiors but every building available, no thanks, man; it's not needed. plarson17
It was just an idea guys.i agree it should only have more interiors not all of them. i agree with spitefulpotato that will be cool Edited May 28, 2014 by plarson17 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/711856-go-inside-every-building-idea/#findComment-1065480345 Share on other sites
Hodgey.
Is every interior possible? Depends on the size of the map. GTA V on this gen could never support all the interiors. Personally would I like it? Yes sure. Maybe there will come a day when we get a map the size of GTA V that has every interior avaliable but that wont happen any time soon if ever. I think as long as the interior number is increased in the next game then that is a definate step in the right direction but as of now we definetly dont need every interior to be open. GTA4131
You should be able to break into houses and burgle them. That would be awesome plarson17 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/711856-go-inside-every-building-idea/#findComment-1065501684 Share on other sites
Hitman5
Every interior would probably take 2 or 3 years if not more just for that, plus who knows if even current PCs could handle that (on a big map). But there certainly needs to be more than V. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/711856-go-inside-every-building-idea/#findComment-1065539439 Share on other sites
