Just noticed (as I was waiting for a tank griefer) that they've added butterflies to the hedges...is this new? Or have I just never sat in the bushes before? LOL

I've noticed butterflies before...only a couple of times though... I think it was in the marsh/swamps by FZ...maybe...the only wildlife online haha

Just down the road from the main LSC in Burton is Rockford Hills City Hall. By the road is a bus stop. Stand right by the bus stop looking at the City Hall from 6am on a sunny day and you will see butterflies by the plants next to you. Maybe on a rainy day too.

This is more of a question based on an observation of something I think I noticed...

Is the time and weather the same for everyone online no matter what session they are in?

I've been in the same lobby with buddies and it was night for me and day for them. I don't know if that's standard or just a glitch.

Jesus...in the SAME lobby...that would suck if it was raining for one and not the other with car handling and all that. Lol

I don't know for other players, but when session jumping to car search, I always came into the new session at around the same time I left the previous one (with the difference being the time it took to jump sessions). Now, within the same session, you could have players in missions, etc. that have different weather and time, but I'm pretty sure a single server, or group of servers, if not all servers have the same time tracker. Now, I have left a sunny one and wound up in a rainy one though. As a result, I'm inclined to believe that weather is independent but time may not be. Also, when it comes to hackers, all bets are off.

Soran Is On

The weather continuity seems pretty accurate I've asked crew mates and randoms 4 or 5 times if the weather and time matches me and it does.

Wearing a motorcycle helmet will protect you from headshots. It will take 2 shots not 1

You can set a waypoint to any place a snapmatic photo was taken. Go to the in game gallery and open the photo. There is an option to set a waypoint

Tanks don't spawn in Zancudo anymore.. I've stolen 8 jets this week and haven't seen one Rhino spawn next to the hanger. I could be lucky or they're really gone. :O

They still spawn there your just lucky

Not True.

With a save editor you can, and the mods stick.

This is actually an awesome thread.

I've learnt a few 'hidden' things that were previously unknown to me.

Something that I knew was in GTA IV and V, but for those who don't know.

When you get in a vehicle and press Start straight after pressing Y/Triangle to enter the vehicle, the engine will not start, neither will the lights. This allows you to sit in your car as if the key has not been turned.

The engine will start after closing the menu down. Makes it look like you are sitting in your car, but your view is obscured by the menus.

Not overly useful but still a feature that could help for immersion and realism. This could be made possible with mods though (inb4 PC release date confirmed).

Damn it, Rockstar! If only you read these forums to get ideas.

You know you can swap lock-on targets with L1/LT on the buzzard or jet? or that all helicopters can float on the sea surface?

This may be the best post on this forum yet.

This is life-changing.

Thank you.

Simply put, you have to mod the car in your SP garage using the save editor, then bring it online via SP2MP.

Try asking in this session for more explicit directions: http://gtaforums.com/forum/296-guides-strategies/

Or just search around for a more resent thread on it.

Here's another little fun fact for those who have not seen this before.

You can ignite fuel that is on the road with the flames that many cars spit out of the exhaust.

For example, you can pour a Jerry can's contents from your exhaust to near the engine of another car. Now, rev the engine of your car and let the burst of flame set the fuel alight. Then see the other car explode in a ball of flame.

Cars can also leak fuel if you shoot the right place. This fuel can also be ignited with exhaust flames.

Can't you hide the menu by tapping "Y" or "Delta"?

I hope I'm not mistaken.

As long as you are in the Pause menu, I think you can do whatever you like. You might be right, I cannot remember.

You don't have to pay? Never knew that. I definitely will not do that whenever I see a Chrome abomination on the side of the road.

Heres a quite useful way to quickly get across the map.

When you spawn in a awkward spot on the map in the middle of no-where, you can open up a random job and wait for it to load, then quit. Now you will now move to the location of the job you just quitted from. You can use this to move across the map very quickly instead of driving there. This doesn't work 100% of the time but a majority of the time it does. If it doesn't just try again. I'm not sure if this works if you host a job or join a random job that isn't a mission as I haven't tested those.

I sometimes do this...if you join quick job it will always work but it doesn't seem to work with hosting... Quite often I will vote for a jobs on the screen after a mission or race that is at a location suitable to me just to quit it and be there haha Edited by malcolmfunktion

Not to hammer on a sore spot, but the effect the cargobob has above water is actually a bit of both hovering, and floating.

It's a combination of ground effect, and displacement from the aircrafts body.

So, it is semi submerged, but without the rotors giving thrust, it would sink. It is capable of breaking the surface of the water, being affected by waves, but it cannot float without aid from the powerplant and rotors.

When in passive you can jump in a car with another player and cook a grenade and blow them up.

With music off you can hear a lot of ambient noises (very useful in pvp cause you can hear them climbing a ladder or shutting a car door) and when you zoom in with scope you can her players from far away.

Today I noticed that if you hold down the button when eating a snack, you get more health out of it. I was a little upset with myself for not finding that out earlier.

I pointed that out a page or two ago, surprising how many people don't know this.

Also, the Cognoscenti Cabrio has a retractable hardtop.

Obviously.
