Just saw that new character Lupe is apparently voiced by Carla Tassara, best known for being the voice of Judy in Cyberpunk 2077 (and before that, she did voices for pedestrians in GTA V):

But that's from yesterday's update, not 'things that were in the game for a while, but you only just noticed' - so here's another example I only learned about last week: LSCM's very own Mimi is voiced by Jessica Darrow, who did the voice (songs included) for Luisa in Encanto:

I was doing a mission earlier and was asking myself if that was V and then settled on her sounding more like Judy.

 

I'm halfway through a second Playthrough (or 1st playable) of CP so the voices are pretty fresh in the grey matter. Guess my ears are working properly.

 

Had no idea she did other GTA peds though.

The cast list of GTA V pedestrians is pretty bonkers - granted, when you want as many unique voices as possible, and it's not that complicated to get full-time voice actors to spend an afternoon or two doing some line recordings when they're not busy heading up projects, it shouldn't be a surprise, but still... And so, you wind up with background chatter (that we've likely driven past hundreds of times and never noticed) done by the likes of:

 

- Arif S. Kinchen (Pierce from Saints Row)

- Dane Cook (yes, that Dane Cook, Mystery Men's "The Waffler")

- Isiah Whitlock Jr. (Da 5 Bloods)

- Misty Lee (loads of things, particularly DC superhero cartoons - she's also married to Harley Quinn co-creator Paul Dini)

- Rick Pasqualone (Mafia II/III's Vito Scaletta)

- Travis Willingham (Critical Role, and lots of other things)

- Yuri Lowenthal (also lots of things, including Peter Parker in Insomniac's Spider-Man)

- Stephanie Lemelin (Young Justice, Sunset Overdrive, etc.)

- John Cygan (RIP - Solidus Snake in MGS2, Canderous Ordo in Star Wars: KotOR, and Silas Greaves in Call of Juarez: Gunslinger)

- Greg Eagles (many things, notably Gray Fox/Cyborg Ninja in Metal Gear Solid)

- Stephanie Sheh (every English-language anime dub in existence)

 

The only thing I can think that compares is how Star Trek managed to have cameos from a bunch of NASA astronauts, a younger Seth MacFarlane, King Abdullah II of Jordan, and Tom Morello (yes, from RATM!), to name but a few!

Wait, where did you see this? Because we were thinking it was her at first but then a voice actor CV appeared and the reel sounded like this actor instead.

I wouldn't be surprised. I hear 'Judy' in her tone everytime I hear her speak. Legit went to check around to see if I could find out if it was her or not, lol

Can't remember, tbh - and I'd not encountered or heard Lupe yet (don't have an office), so I just checked out the intro phone call, and ...actually, I don't think it is:

 

 

 

Sounds younger, and higher - and not in a 'same person pitching their voice higher' kind of way.

 

Meanwhile, here's Carla Tassara in non-Judy mode - still recognisably the same person as Judy, just not doing the narration in-character:

That's why it took a while for her voice to click.

 

One of her warehouse extra stock sell thingys, first few sentances she started of high and chirpy. Then gradually slid into a more familiar lower Judy accent as the sentances went on, clipping the occasional words.

 

Not knocking her at all, I've just got an ear for accents and people trying to mask them. 

Geordie at birth so I pick up glottle stops and slight clips a mile away.

Over in the GTA VI Protagonist Speculation Thread, it looks like Lupe's VA has been identified: Alexandra Echavarri.

 

I get the impression that people spotted she'd done some work for Rockstar, and with the recent news about VI, thought she might be voicing one of the protagonists - she might well still be doing stuff for VI, but that recent IG post is most likely referring to GTAO.

In today's instalment of "Adventures in GTAO Voice Actors", I just learned that the new voice for Agent ULP (as of Doomsday Heist - sadly, his original voice actor Milton James, who was in seemingly every TV show in the '80s and '90s, died in 2018) is none other than Halo's legendary multiplayer announcer, Jeff Steitzer!

Slightly off-topic, but the world gets smaller every day: I found a compilation of Jeff's lines on a YouTube channel run by the guy behind a Halo fan/community blog, the "Little English Halo Blog".

 

What really stuck out was the channel username: "FlawlessC0wboy" - because ...isn't that the Twitter handle of Playground Games' Mike Brown (headed up post-launch support for FH4, and creative director for FH5)? Turns out, yes: same bloke! So he'd have been doing that as a side thing while still working on the Motorstorm games, which is where he started out. Like I say, small world...

Common thing enforced by the groups that run these things so that workers can't hide stolen drugs. I also suspect it's so that if there is a fire or explosion from chemicals there is less clothing to catch fire.

No it's not new. I've seen this before. In my case, it was a woman on Route 68 near the prison.
