It's weird, I've never managed to finish that fast off the southwest tip, makes me swim halfway to Vice City.

I think I know the difference now: your chosen escape point. If you pick the Main Dock it should give you the short swim.

I tried MD, ND, Kosatka and airfield, at least twice each (I'm running a sandbox on my alt) and got mixed results, I'm going to play with your exit a bit more [uh phrasing] because yeah it must be something. Out to the W is my old faithful though, no matter where the exit is.

Wait. You can evade the cops by going into the Terrorbyte?

I knew you could do it with the Avenger but not the Terrorbyte

Pavel has two funny lines when you destroy Mr. Rubio's white Brioso 300. (EDIT: Actually more than two.)

If you do an aggressive run, make sure to blow it up.

Terrorbyte is how I'd been doing it for my Casino Heist preps. If you're holding a prep objective, you have to kill yourself first to drop it otherwise you can't enter. And make sure to kill yourself a bit away from the Terrorbyte, you can't enter if the object is too close.

Couple weeks ago I'd started using the "Accept then quit a Contact Mission invite" trick. That one is handy if you're far away from the Terrorbyte, like if you're driving the Barrage back from the military base on the guns prep. I've notice a few times where it didn't work, like when the guns were in one of 4 LSPD trucks, but it worked after the cops killed me once.

That mission is a little tricky because the "cops" that spawn along with the trucks won't appear on the map. So you can't see on the map if there is still one of these cops close to you, but he can give you a wanted level. The stationary Riot truck even gives you a wanted level if you're merely in the area where it spawns.

So when I used to do this mission and it was a moving truck, I always made sure to kill the driver and passenger. For the stationary one I kill every cop at that location and made sure my Terrorbyte was a little distance away.

It's still possible to randomly come across one of the bogus Riot trucks and they will give you a wanted level even if you're already driving the truck with the weapons.

That explains the cops being red dots after I spawned back in. It must have been those cops that aren't on the map. And the times the trick didn't work for me they were right on my tail.

Is it supposed to always be the stationary truck? It's usually the stationary truck for me, but sometimes it's one of the moving ones. Or is there a trick to know which it is?

No, I think it's just random. I actually like that mission because I get into a Buzzard and freeaim missiles at the rear doors. Then I put the truck into the Bombushka if it's far from my arcade. I used to always restart the weapon missions that had two bags. The Riot truck will drop two bags though if it is destroyed.

Defo this. Selected the Main Docks as my escape route and biked my way out. Didn't even need to swim that far, it was a short "walk" away then boom heist completed. (Biked off to the west thru the farthest cliff, didn't go back the way I came AKA swam south if this matters)

E: Since nobody posted I can't technically Double Post so I'll just add this in here instead:

This might seem like common sense/painfully obvious, but its worth noting for those who are dense like me: Guards will detect you if you start looting the stuff in the Island even if they have their backs turned to you. tested this yesterday when I did the heist - approached the Main Docks and started grabbing some weed. There was a guard there but he was far-ish and his back was turned to me (so he can't logically see me). Wanted to see if looting gets you detected so I started grabbing the stuff. Yaaaap, detected. This actually explains why in a previous run someone found me somehow. Killed 2 guards guarding some loot in the area where a truck can spawn (east of the Main Docks), but there was a guard in a nearby "tent"(?). Killed the 2 guards in front of me and started looting. When I finished and ran to the truck I noticed that that one guard over there is aggro at me. Huh? Turns out he somehow saw me looting. Eh.

Another fun fact: Not sure about the guards outside the compound, but the ones inside you can push them around and not get detected. I've seem multiple vids of folks doing this heist where they kill the 2 guards close to each other by bulldozing one of them and making him faceplant then pistol whip the other and shoot the grounded one to death while he's on the ground. You can also "stealthfully" dodge the guard at the top floor of the main building by ramming his side and making him fall. I'm assuming (too much of a chickensh*t to even ram someone lol) that you won't be detected as long as the guard's cone-of-vision doesn't "land on you", so long as you're outside their vision when they fall they won't see you.

I just found this out, you can take the luxury helicopter from the airstrip to the radio tower during the scoping mission.  Call your assistant before you land and keep the menu open.

The best $5000 I ever spent!

The Vapid Guardian is classed as an Industrial vehicle.

Utility: Sadler and the upcoming slamtruck.

Commercial (not the usual way of storing vehicles): Either hauler custom or phantom custom. (bunker)

All the variants of the cerberus. (arena garage iirc)

Mule custom. (nightclub)

Pounder custom. (nightclub)

Terrorbyte. (nightclub I'm pretty sure)

Phantom wedge. (special vehicle garage from import export)

industrial: Guardian.

I suspect everybody knows NPCs might take a picture of your car with their phone? I thought they were only player owned vehicles they photographed and only pedestrians did it.

Yesterday I took a a limousine ride to get to my Arcade, but I made it stop before the destination and got out as it often glitches out and starts driving to the casino once it reaches the Arcade... So when I got out an NPC in a Rocoto parked his SUV behind the limousine, walked onto the pavement, took a picture of the limousine, went back in his Rocoto and drove away. 😮

I guess the Limousine has a high 'Swankness' but parking, getting out of a car to take a pic and back is definitely a new one to me.

Today I found out that calling for a Chernobog is a LOT of fun when you have a bounty on your head.

Mosquito (mk2) zapper, I take it? I can just imagine the kill feed 😆 I’ll have to give that a try sometime.

Does it get them, though? I never use my Chernobog because the missiles are pretty terrible - unless they've been buffed in the past year.

Oh, Hell Yes it hits MkIIs. From far away, too. I almost feel sorry for them. Almost.

Volatollotalov

It took me until last weekend to notice that there's an NPC statue mime guy, dressed all in stone-gray, who sometimes appears on Vespucci Beach during the day.

Edinburgh is awash with those guys during the tourist season, there's practically one on each street corner every (normal) summer, so Rockstar didn't need to look very far for inspiration there!

It’s not 100%...depends on the angle they approach you from. But the missiles do track well and you can lock on at insane distances through buildings....soooo. You win some, you lose some. Ultimately what really needs to happen is the armor needs a serious buff. Blowing up in one homing missile/RPG is just pathetic.

Pro tip: there are ways to park the Chernobog at an angle, so that the front is lower than the rear. Launching five homing missiles every three (?) seconds can fill a person's plate pretty quickly, even with countermeasures. Jets just circle so, no joy there.

The Chernobog's glorious Judgment Missiles have been nerfed since launch, jets used to be no problem. Motherf*ckers can't have a counter to the preciousssss broomstick.

Although arguably locking onto PVs from across the city and shooting them through 6 or 7 buildings was slightly unrealistic.

If you shoot a missile in the cabin where Awi Schwarzman is when you are killing the goons in that prep mission, you can kill him and fail the mission. :(

Yon can't open interaction menu while in Sparrow or Buzzard with first-person view.

Or at least I can't open it.
