Things you didn't know about GTAO until now

Yesterday while I was doing the Cayo Perico heist with a friend, I found out that you can escape from the compound through the main door and then make a run to the sea to the left of it, just behind the angle. We waited a couple seconds for a patrol boat to pass by, killed the driver and left the island with it. I thought it would work because it wasn't the escape point chosed during the prep, but it did! 

The payout was strangely low (250k) despite the loot was all gold, anybody know why? We tried again aftar an hour and it didn't happen despite the same approach. 

 

Also, I've not seen it in the couple videos of Easter eggs so I'll leave it here, inside the Rubio's office there's an unicorn head just above the elevator

When scoping Cayo Perico, if the guard spawns near the Comms Tower and you jump off without pulling your parachute, you won't die if you land in fron t of him.

 

You'll get detected, though. Obviously.

Im always CEO,  never MC club, so no raid. I checked my lub, too.

there is no infotext and when the timer is over, nothing happens....

Random drugs encounter as mentioned, somewhere there's a blue dot.

 

BTW just one of the suspects in the "wtf breaks my heist prep coronas" bug. Choose from these, CEO work, MC work, someone else's prep, business battle, free roam event, etc etc. There's a lot going on.

I should have mentioned, that I have checked all the map for popped up icons, but I havent found anything.

Do the blue dots dissappear, when leaving the area around it?

I've used that boat in one finale where i wasn't the host, earning elite in the proces (final time was like 11mins) tried to use it in several finales where i was host but it never showed up? so im starting to think it requires specific timing? (because that one time i did see it the host was slow as balls inside the compound, might've been a requirement??)

^ the boats are fairly reliable, but if you just Great Escape the bike off the cliff and swim to this point, you've escaped. Left dpad for rebreather.

That seems to be a sweet spot, in the middle of that seabed depression. You can swim away from CP literally anywhere and escape but it can take a while.

I suspected that we'd be able to shoot down the missile of the submarine, I tried yesterday and it was a success.

I shot it down using a Khanjali, I also sniped it with BST, I shot it with the atomizer but it didn't seem to do anything to it.

 

I tried to jump over it with a Runner 2k but I failed spectacularly LOL

I wonder if this is faster, I've been trying to do this as fast as possible and my fastest was 7:40 seconds, I got it using boats.

I made a slight mistake here, 7:43 was my fastest, I do think it could've been 7:30 had those freakin' boats spawned faster.

Ha well my best run is 07:43 using the swim, but if you're trying to get best possible time then you'd play first person (swims faster).

250k total payout? Did you drop the primary loot?

 

You can also simply swim across the edge of the map to escape. If you do it at the right point, it will take under a minute of swimming.

What?? that is very quick, I'll have to pick that route instead of boats.

You can become the beast while inside your submarine. Fire a guided missile and you'll get a prompt to have a chance at becoming the beast, keep flying the missile and if you're chosen it will be take a bit longer to spawn you as the beast, as you will spawn at the land act dam, which is where the sub is located under the map.

 

You can also become the beast while inside the yacht bridge.

 

You can find the sleeping guard with the key to the perico pistol while delivering a van with a movie prop to Solomon.

 

If you start a Cayo Perico heist with 4 players, but 1 or more players leave during it you'll still get the award for completing the heist with 4 players at the end.

 

You can finish the safe code prep faster by simply killing yourself after grabbing the code, the prep will be finished upon respawn, no need to walk outside and lose the cops.

You might, however, respawn inside the hallway of the penthouse floor, but I have found no use for this, simply kill yourself again and you'll respawn outside near the NOOSE HQ which is where the interior is located under the map.

The interior you might respawn in has no access to the casino or your own penthouse as far as I know, the door the roof/helipads is not solid and there's nothing behind it, you'll fall outside the interior.

The elevators don't work, and some doors may be missing and behind them it's nothing but the nothingness that's under the map.

Maybe you can snipe players while standing near those missing doorways, but no players ever come near the NOOSE HQ, lol.

Maybe you can kill other players doing the same prep, I'm not sure.

Yeah this is nice, I only just now realised they also have slightly different labels too, to accommodate the differences!

I don't think we dropped the primary loot, but maybe that's what happened and we haven't noticed, next time I'll try to swim. 

I've to say I really enjoy this new heist, there's a lot of different ways to approach everything. I hope they keep on going like this!! 

 

BTW, anyone having trouble with the rebreather? I can't equip them, and I can't buy them because it says I already have 20. I have no mask or anything in the face and even trying the scuba outfit didn't help (reddit post not mine)

It's weird, I've never managed to finish that fast off the southwest tip, makes me swim halfway to Vice City.

I had a bit of a revelation, I use alt fps and hold down L3 to swim, noticed last couple times that if I held it down, it never escaped CP, then as soon as I did, it did. So that might just be a weird coincidence or it could be related.

Time in Cayo Perico when you revisit the party after completing the heist is drastically slowed down, seems to be about 10 seconds for every minute

I just found out that there is a hidden safe (left of the fireplace) with cash in the Cayo Perico Heist. I have done the heist like 15-20 times and always take the elevator down

Today I learned Cayo Perico is not in any way an existing name for any place on the world according to Google Maps. Instead it'll point you at Rikers Island, New York. Which is where the 'Rikers Correctional Center' is. In other words, its a prison island. I thought that was kinda funny the drug lord island name points you to a prison island.

Perico means parakeet but it also has second meaning: cocaine.

 

So Cayo Perico means Cay Cocaine or Key Cocaine.

My favorite non-buzzard helicopter just got cooler. Now if only there were more missions where the cops are called and I cannot call lester and I'm not forced into a mission vehicle and I don't have a call for a Contact Mission and I don't have a Terrorbyte handy.
