Things you didn't know about GTAO until now

This is the second time that this happened to me. I think that works at this way: After leave CEO, quickly active Passive mode and you can survive a jet crash:

 

Hasn't that got something to do with the smuggler's run update? I've noticed i survive all crashes since the update as long as they aren't full head on collisions. I guess all flying vehicles have gotten a buff. Most of the planes seem to be able to take a HL without the occupants dying too.

I didn't know we can use the water hose on the fire truck. I've seen NPC's use it many a time but had no idea players could fire it the same way we do a weapon.

Typical the one time I pull somebody up and they gaming buddies... apologies and cheers for filling me in without rubbing it in You did the right thing, regardless it was a comment I should have kept to myself. This really is the first GTA for some people and I shouldn't expect people to know everything.

 

 

Fun fact: The firetruck had a working water canon in every single GTA game.

I was doing sightseer & it lived up to its name, because in reaching a package I found a mini skater park near the suburban along the street from the barber shop. Its on a rooftop, but also has access from a side street off one of the hill roads. Might take my bmx along to it for a bit tonight.

Had a weird incident today. I was heading to the downtown medical center to get my fresh spawned cargobob. When I got up the ladder I saw a buzzard hovering over the landing pad, kinda trying to land many times but then always aborting and gaining altitude again. Once I got close they started firing the miniguns. I took cover and aimed to see there were two guys in the chopper. I shot it down and went to examine the bodies. Both merryweather I guess, since they had military outfits.

Never had that happen before. No one had put merryweather after me, and it wasn't a back up chopper for any of the players since all few players in the session were miles away.

Mercs don't use choppers & backup heli's are always a maverick with a gunman on each side.

 

When someone does some sourcings the enemy NPC's can get lost or stick around a little after its finished. They will attack any player they encounter, not just the org who started the mission.

You cannot use vehicle proxy mines in contact missions. So better also get the mortars for the Tampa, even if you dislike them like me.

Or you can opt out completely of both. I think they're both sh*t IMO, and I throw sticky bombs way more accurately anyway lol

There seems to be a sign saying: "Speedlimit enforced by Aircraft" at the eastern highway entrance of Los Santos.

I have got to find that and pose nearby with the Hunter now.

 

Well here is a picture of it:

 

When you are coming from that big truckstop with the gasstation and the ammunation, heading towards los santos about 300 meters away from that big highwaycrossing. There is an emergency phone and a speed limit sign near it.

Something I didn't know until the other day - the longer you hold fire, the further the mortars go (to a point).

A better description would be right next to the 6-car apartment at 1162 Power St.

Well, grab your BMX, hit the ramp and see if you can do a 540 at least.

 

 

EDIT: Also see if you can pull off a grind that connects that rooftop with another.

@Blackdragon - your welcome. I don't bother with street names in the cities I know IRL either. If I go somewhere new I just wander around & learn the place that way. I navigate by landmarks and memory.

 

@whywontyoulisten - yes there are bigger ones, but the value of this one, to certain people like me, is that it's a lot closer than the others. Easier to nip out to for 5-10 mins messing around between other things.

 

@EkaSwede - I haven't been out on my bmx in a while, so I'm rusty. My couple of attempts at a 540 didn't go well, I did land a few good grinds though. & when I was finishing up, jumped clear over a ramp, over the roof railing, did a 360 turn and landed in the street I will practice some more tonight.

I wish there were skate parks like the ones in GTA IV. Had more ramps. Most skate parks in GTAO only seem to have a halfpipe at most and some small other things.

Try the one next to the Unit 124 Popular St. garage, it's by far the best in V. Vespucci Beach is pretty good too.

I live in a small town and i doubt that i know more than 5% of the streets by name.

The only reason i know that street is called Alta Street is because back when the 4 th garage was added i planed to buy the apartment there. Its the only street i know the name of in gta 5.

So while I was doing the 30 minute Insurgent sell mission (the one with merryweather) I decided to hook up the AA trailer with the dual flak gun.

 

And it turns out that gun oneshots AI Insurgents while it'd take 5-6 rockets from a Buzzard to destroy it. The more you know...

I was completely unaware that you could come back after death. I'm level 539 and was killed by another player. My heart sank because I've been playing this game since launch. I was about to turn the game off when some guy in blue (Chris Fromage?) shows up and tells me I can continue playing.

If you own a MOC with a weapons upgrade cab not only can you buy stuff like the heavy sniper early but you can also buy the tints without needing to get kills with the weapon. You can also get the platinum tint without being level 100.
