Things you didn't know about GTAO until now

I'm afraid I stole this from TypicalGamer, but I didn't know triple-click left stick gives you silent sirens (ie lights only) on emergency vehicles.

 

TBH I suspect it's a bug

Tested this out with some friends. On your screen there is no sound, but on their screen they can hear it, so it is a bug. They turn off in story mode when you get out of the car... why can't they in MP too? You should be able to leave the car running with out glitching it too as it's nice for some night shots with the lights on.

 

In order to leave the lights on you need to make sure they are on before getting out of the car. Shoot a few rounds from a weapon that isn't going to get you a wanted level and then get back into the car, when you get out again they will still be left on and the car will still be running. I didn't just notice that, but I don't recall it being listed here, so enjoy.

Also when you are in a police chase and they deploy the spike strips... NPC's will run them over after the cops are off of you.

When standing outside one apartment you can call your mechanic to bring cars from your second one.

 

You can call your mechanic to bring you cars from the one you're in front of as well.

 

They have removed the "You're too close to your garage" block. There's still the "You're already close to your personal vehicle" block but.

 

 

 

I just noticed that if you stand on Grove St for a long time, more gang members will spawn. You can have a massive crowd out there before long, then call 911 and watch the gun fight from a rooftop.

 

I discovered this when I put myself on Passive and went away from the console for 5 minutes to do some IRL.

Yes done it so many times hahahah even to my friends.

 

I had so many online players show up and destroy the dozer :( takes 10-15 days to get down the highway

A little story, my friend managed to ramp my Infernus onto a train car, and before we could celebrate our good fortune, a faster moving train passed through our train from behind, smashing the car inside the flat train car between the front end of the train car and engine of the faster train, blowing him up.

 

So yeah, two things, if you ride a train long enough, you'll see it or another train pass through each other and there are fast trains and slow trains.

If you friend get in the car and does the triple horn, they will be silent for him as well. I hope they dont fix it if its a bug. I find myself wanting to rip my ears off from the sirens.

Eating snacks while taking cover skips the eating animation

i use that a lot. low on health you just duck and spam the button on your p's and q's lol

I recenly noticed some NPS are using indicators when doing a turn (left turn in this case)

 

I also now noticed my K/D is zero, anyone know why?

I only noticed a few days ago you could enter Trevor's meth lab in GTAO lol

 

If people are just now finding out about Trevor's lab they might not know about the bank. There is a huge bank you can enter. Two floors.

Seriously? If that works, that is amazing.

 

I have always had to find a clear area and bail out of my car so I can take a pick of it with the lights on, hahaha. :lol:

I could see that working, however if they do the same thing in their own emergency vehicle then it's silent on their screen, but you still hear it on your screen. I wish it would just stop like it does in story mode.

New (to me) today - the patch 1.14 revision of the body armour inventory, whereby pressing 'X' (on 360, at least) toggles the armour visuals on and off, separate from the 'use' button.

Perfect solution, IMO - now you can wear armour as clothing at will (on/off, and whichever style you choose), without needing any of the 'consumable' armour in your inventory, and without wasting armour that could be used for missions. Cheers for the fix, R*! :^:

Not to be a kill joy, but the remove armor option has been around for a few patches now, just it was really buggy and didn't always stick.

Gang attacks show the number of enemies killed/total gang attack enemies in the bottom right corner. Never noticed until quite recently.

I don't know if I knew this and then forgot, or if I'm just stupid, but if you get an invite you can hold 'up' instead of tapping it to bring up the phone, and it will go straight to the job invite instead of the home screen.

I've only known about this for maybe a month or less... I noticed it on the load screen tips. :)

Just learned this today, but you can press Y to get out of an Internet phone page instead of tapping B all the way back.

Probably well known, but in Ammunation, there is the option to buy all ammo for each weapon/type of weapon.

 

Click on a weapon, click X to 'toggle' and then buy ALL AMMO.

It got really janky with 1.13, when they added the option to store armour as a useable inventory item - whereas pre-1.13 you had to cycle through them, with the High Life update, the new system took away any quick/simple option to display/hide armour.

 

Now, it's better than ever - just go down the list to the one you want, and hit the show/hide button. Quick, convenient and intuitive - here's hoping R* leaves it as is, because it works great now.

Why not just start or join a job and by all ammo, play or exit the job.

I was attempting to take a NPC vehicle stopped at signals during a shoot out to make a sly escape from certain death, opened the door and got the NPC out but then had to go take cover without getting in the car. When I went to get in the car a split second later I went to the passenger side and got in whilst the NPC got back in the drivers side and proceeded to give me a tour of a section of Los Santos in a very erratic manner.
