Non-creative and dumb. I'm suprised they still get R* verified.

Instead, they could verify some truly authentic races.

how can you say they are uncreative and annoying?

Can you quote me saying they are aren't creative? I'm sure some undoubtedly are.

And whether something is annoying or not, is most definitely personal preference. I mentioned a loop + big jump race at Sandy Shores earlier, as an example. You would crash on the way to entering the loop because the other side was too low and that's the way the checkpoints were leading you. Then you'd crash for no apparent reason if you made it into the loop. After that, you hit the big jump and you could easily miss the checkpoint you are supposed to hit, or otherwise crash. It should be easy to see why people find anything like that to be annoying.

Not having any of it though if someone is going to call something like White Cars Can't Jump creative. It's a p2p race with jumps. Amazing.

uncreative I can't really support (though you could argue only the first guy was creative the rest are just copy cats)

but they sure can be annoying

and it's not even the concept, if done right these tracks could be really cool

it's the fact that most people just suck at making tracks.

these crazyass unintuitive tracks with checkpoints no1 understands filled with jumps that are barely do-able even if you know them by heart are just stupid

you wouldn't have these problems if these idiots just kept it simple

and than there's the obvious assholes who just abuse it to get easy wins.

^^^ explain...

No explanation needed here.

Place this ramp, place that, boom race is done.

Sure one or two of them happen to be enjoyable but it's always the same concept.

Since when do they get R* verified?

How is a big ramp creative? It's the first thing, if not one of the first things people think of. In fact, the only things that are less creative is:

a) tracks that go around the whole map on the highway

b)tracks around Vinewood Circuit

c) tracks that are just a straight line

But at least these tracks are always possible, and don't require luck that you hit a ramp in the right location, or at an exact speed, or entirely depend on when you think you've executed a jump perfectly, as fast and as centred as you go, you still don't make it because:

a) it's extremely difficult luck based BS

or b) rockstars physics mess you up

So in other words, most of them aren't skill based or fun at all.

But not all of them, and yes I agree with you on those races.

Try mine, they're not that bad, the ramps have been rebuild a couple of times until they were right, so you should be able to play this race first time without having any problems with the ramps.

I thought this would be a normal motorcycle race, oh wait....

I wish Rockstar didn't release content creator... Aren't those shipping containers glitched?

Id appreciate if some of you would check out my ramp races for cars

The Dune Boys Derby

and

The Dune Boys Derby II

The first race I use nothing but the natural terrain jumps and a cliff jump to the beach below.

The sequel I added ramps too. One jump is over the river right by the lighthouse. Its the hardest jump but you have to approach it just right with enough speed coming around a blind corner. I tested all jumps with the standard cars and the lighthouse jump can be made. Its easier with custom cars that have added HP. The BIG jump is over the river that the Alamo Sea pours out to. Theres a big bridge there, but I blocked the bridge sorta and setup a ramp next to it, making you jump the span of the bridge and come down on the opposite shore. Theres plenty of runoff to build speed but you cant bleed off too much speed and have to hit the ramp straight on to clear the river.

These two races are made for endurance races with a Dukes of Hazzard style layout and scenery. The track is the most fun with the muscle cars. Track difficulty for both Id say are about 8/10.

Im posting this from work on my iPhone so no links, but my Socialclub ID is DoubleOhNine.

I look at the ability to make super ramps, and all the different glitches to be tools.

I don't think they're intrinsically bad or good in and of themselves.

People can incorporate them into a race to really make something special, or they can make a race where the jumps are pointless, stale, and annoying.

It's like asking, are props in general bad?

Some people use them poorly and create sh*t races because of them, others use them effectively so the props raise the quality of the job.

Anything that gives us more power to realize our ideas for jobs, is good in my book. So the ability to make super ramps? Good.

These "super ramp" races are just as dumb and un-creative as the other ramp races. Just use the f*cking streets that rockstar gave you in GTA V and create well-placed barriers to make corners challenging.

There could be SO MANY more in-depth, realistic races if these 14 year olds put the effort they do in making these sh*tty "I can do a half backflip and land flat on the ground" races into making an actually fun race without retarded ramps everywhere, GTA would be a better place. But I digress, it's not a better place.

My crew members knock out quality race tracks for all classes using every part of the map daily and i race on them all the time.

I'm not starved of good creator content to play so if i want to make a track with a loop or a wall ride, i'll make a f*cking track with a loop or a wall ride.

If R* ever give us more props i'll make loopy wall rides, it doesn't mean i don't spend 90% of my time on tracks made for racing.

I like true races. I just created a race and have tweaking it as necessary. Now when I race it, I tend to let people win because if I come in first (which often happens since I know the track so well and am decent at racing) they more often dislike on the fact they lost. I made it challenging though. A lot of turns that require skill. I was shocked as I raced behind people to view their mannerisms and how difficult of a time people have on the simple stuff. There are no jumps. The track comes down to being a good racer. And a lot of people probably don't find that fun. I always see that in a lobby (it's an 8 person race), 4 like it, 2 dislike (usually toward the bottom of the board), 1 no votes, and of course my vote doesn't matter anymore. I was talking with my friend saying people probably prefer (at least the mass of people) things with jumps like 4-way madness (albeit I enjoy that map too). Whenever I see a jump with open road to the side and no road blockage ahead, I always go around because winning is what is most important to me and going around the jump is faster. I'm the competitive type though that likes to be challenged.

You said pretty much all I want to say.

4 way madness is one of very few races that were built around ramps and still i could enjoy even with a full lobby of random people.

You're talking as if all super ramp races are like this, but that's simply not true. You've played a race with a loop that I agree on is absulutely terrible (based on what you just said). But that's exactly the same as me saying that any ''normal'' race with a weird prop placed in the middle of the road or something is bad. You describe a bad race that happens to be a ''super ramp'' race.

I think it's pretty much a fact that most super ramp races out there are badly constructed, with ramps and loops that make your car spin or even crash, but that's just no reason to clasify all super ramp races as bad races.

It takes many hours to create a good super ramp race.

Each time you build one of these ramps, it's a unique ramp. So once you've created one, you should test it multiple times with different vehicles and rebuild it if necessary until it's perfect.

99.9% of the ramp races do not apeal to me, because the creator did not take the time to properly align the ramps or the objects we have to jump are spaced two far apart so that only a fully upgraded super can clear the jump.......

the super ramp or jump races i have saw and tried are a good example of not taking the time to align them........

the last one i tried had ramps that went way high into the sky and were so poorly placed it was like driving up a washboarded county dirt road

I didn't classify all 'super ramp' races as bad. I gave a prime example of a super ramp race to illustrate why people can find it annoying. There might be a minority that are worth playing. But they don't interest me at all. The creator tools just aren't good enough to allow people to make something that would interest me enough to bookmark it to play.

I'll just go play Trials if I want to play this sort of stuff.

I just remember my race was stolen.

The verified race called "around the mirror"

My race was created a couple of months before that was verified and was called "around mirror park" and it was a pretty unique race. As with all of my custom races. For some reason r* likes to verify races that people threw together when driving around and placing checkpoints wherever or the races with jumps everywhere.

A few jumps is ok to keep things interesting, but not every hundred yards....

I'm looking for a created land race that starts in pillbox hill area, by the maze bank tower and the mile high club building construction. It had a gigantic QUARTERPIPE (that's the key!) that went almost up to the top of the construction site, then you jump from rooftop to rooftop. If ANYONE knows what one I'm talking about, PLEASE help me! I am killing myself trying to find it.

Biohazard Abyss

Just finished making a super race with ramps in it, with a really cool jump that if landed at the right speed, puts you on top of a gas station, lol. Anyway, I tried it with 2 randoms and ended up finishing 1st and both voted thumbs up on the race, I'm pretty satisfied.

try this race with 1 super ramp and see what you think of it

http://rsg.ms/1nL5LwO

xbox

I played it, I liked it, it had some very surprising corners and the checkpoints were well placed. The big ramp however wasn't smooth at all, I lost about 60% speed on that ramp, while if you make a smooth ramp you should not lose speed at all!

So my advice to you would be to completely erase that ramp and make a new one. If needed use my smooth ramp tutorial. If you make a smooth ramp you should be able to make that jump over the water without any props placed halfway like you have now. I've made a race with the same jump over that river a while ago, and though there are boosts in my race that make it easier to jump over the water, it can be done without boosts.
