Whats the fastest way to launch your car for drag races? I've been holding x and r2 at the same time, and then releasing x. Is it faster to just hit the gas? Or is it faster to gradually press down r2, as to avoid doing a burnout?

the best way is to get the most traction you can, while trying not to lose too much speed off the line.

Whichever way you can achieve that is really up to the car and how it drives or rather accelerates.

For example rear wheel drive's will give u a burnout for sure if u just press accelerate right away.

4wd cars like the elegy don't give much burnout if any at all because its 4wd.

 

The best way to get rear wheel drive cars off the mark faster that i use is (hold in the accelerate button while holding the handbrake) then let go of the handbrake when the flag comes down. seems to give a small boost i think. Also works with 4wd but unneeded.

 

Fun fact: completely random but. if u didn't know this you can sit in your car or helicopter with the engine turned off, also works on gta4.

to do this you have to get out ur car, heli whatever then press the button the get into the vehicle and press start as soon as u see ur character get in. your character will get in the car and the engine wont start unless u unpause, enjoy my fellow baboons

Thanks for the response. I basically only own RWDs so the handbrake method is what ill stick with. 80% of the time i ride motorbikes, so i dont practice car launching much.
