Download Manager for Snapmatic?

Does anyone know if such a thing exists? A DL-manager capable of dl'ing all of my own Snapmatic pics at the push of a button?

i love to take pics, of my cars, crew meets, random silly stuff, beautiful sunsets etc., whatever you can think of. that also means i have to dl tons of pics manually every other day, and that is one tedious task i do not love the least bit. and after a 100 pics i have to dl them to another folder, as the automatic numbering will then not work anymore and my laptop asks me if it want to replace the pic of the same name (number).

so, if you know of a program, web-based app, or even a funny little robot who is capable of dl'ing these pics for me, please let me know too. i'd be sooo happy (if you read this in Clyde's voice you watched too much Southpark).

as a little advance thank you, here's something beautiful (at least in my eyes)

No but you can save the pictures from the Snapmatic by left clicking and click "Save As" and make a folder to put all your pictures in and then upload them to Photobucket or another photo sharing site so you won't have to get rid of them

that's pretty much what i do now, i thought that would be clear when i wrote "i dl tons of pics every other day...". but since that's a huge p.i.t.a. i'm looking for a program to at least do the dl'ing part for me. thanks anyway though.

That's why i posted the reply i did because i haven't seen or know of any and gave you an option that is better than nothing

that is nice of you, i'm just wondering what you thought i did to dl them. right clicking, or dragging and dropping are pretty much the only ways to actually dl. unless there is, and that's the whole reason for this post, a less tedious way through a program.

Do you have an Iphone or Android phone?

if you do you can go to the iFruit app and then go to the snapmatic and then save the pictures to your phone and then download them all at once to Photobucket.

It's kind of the same thing but it is a little faster

I hope somebody does come up with a program like that, I'm no programmer but I'm sure it could be done.

You can get browser extensions that save all images on a web page from Firefox of Chrome, you could give that a try? If you do let us know if it works!

What about my post am i being a "mini mod"?

I am giving him suggestions on how to save it and gave him a place where he could go and ask nothing "mini modding" about it.

Now if only they would fix snapmatic.

What a shame.

Cool that Solo got an answer, though.

This may be useful to some. Have a look here...

http://furrymonkey.somee.com/

When I take new photos I just go to the Social Club and select the ones I like, and they are automatically saved to that website and added to the gallery.

If you want your own then just follow these (hopefully) simple instructions. (It may look like a wall of instructions that will take forever, but I'm just trying to be clear for those less techie. It should take you 5-10 minutes to get the whole thing set up.)

Create the free website to host your pictures...

First off, create a totally free account at https://somee.com

(click "learn more" in the "Free .Net Hosting" box, and then click the "Order now" button.)

Once the account is set up, do the email validation that they require.

This next bit threw me at first, but it's simple - just not obvious. When you're validated and logged in, click the "Store" link in the menu at the very top of the page. You should already have "Free hosting package" in your shopping cart. If not, select it at the very bottom - click "Order". Tick the two confirmation check boxes and click "continue".

You need to fill in the information on this page. The site name is your subdomain, in my case furrymonkey (in http://furrymonkey.somee.com). Then just give your site a title and description and click "create website".

Once it's created we need to do a couple of things. First, tick the box next to "default.asp" and click delete - we don't need this. Then we need to upload some code to it, so download this file. Click "Manage website", and then in the menu on the left, select "File manager". Click the upload icon and "Choose File" and select the file you just downloaded. Click "Upload and Unzip archives".

That's your site ready for images. Now you just need a way to upload them there.

Simply create a new bookmark in your browser of choice (call it something like "Save Snapmatic Photo") and add this as the URL...

javascript:var website="YOURWEBSITENAME";$("#psImg").each(function(){var e=this.src;$.ajax({url:"http://"+website+".somee.com/download.aspx",type:"POST",data:{src:e}}).done(function(){alert("Photo saved")}).fail(function(e,t){alert("Photo not saved : "+t)})})

There's 2 things you need to do with that. First, change "YOURWEBSITENAME" to the subdomain, or website name that you used when creating your site. Second, make sure that when you create the bookmark it definitely says javascript: at the beginning, as some browsers will strip that off.

That's it - you're done.

Go to your snapmatic gallery on the Social Club and click an image to enlarge it. Then just click your bookmark and you should get a popup box saying "Photo saved". If you go to your new website then it should be there. (It will take a lot longer the first time you do this as the code you uploaded to the website has to be compiled. Every time after that should be a lot quicker.)

By the way, I am in no way affiliated with somee.com. I just found them whilst looking for free ASP.net hosts. There are others out there that will allow you to do the exact same thing, but obviously the instructions above are only for that site.

Good luck, and shout if you get stuck :)

  • 4 weeks later...

necroing this due to my own great interest. as of now, both of the sites above stopped working for me. one won't deliver at all, while the other one will keep telling me to dl a month old zip file.

so, are there any new tools for this out there? the above mentioned online solution seems like just another workaround that does not really save much time.
