The sultan was always AWD since 1.0. The sultan has never been touched. I know this for a fact.

Yeah, I got one a few hours ago too, to play around with too and it was definately AWD/4WD

Yeah I never noticed any changes to the Sultan. I was in it yesterday and was definitely 4wd. The only changes I thought were the Sandking and Z-type. Any others I missed?
