Quick Race needs some love (filters, quit before loading, etc)

Quick Race used to be pretty...quick. When looking for races I only had 3 dealbreakers:

1. No catchup on easy races (because really what's the point)

2. No rally races (because seriously what's the point)

3. No cycling (my button mashing days are behind me)

 

...then the custom races came, and now all anyone wants to do is GET $$$ & RP FAST!!!!~!~!! on some ridiculous highway jumping track created exclusively for 10 year olds in chrome Adders. Ugh.

 

...and now we have a new entry in the dealbreaker camp: non-contact races. Why *anyone* would want to play a non-contact race in GTA is way beyond me - rubbing is racing, and if you don't like it I really don't understand why you're playing this game.

 

So...yeah. I want to be able to blacklist certain settings for races so I don't have to waste so much time finding something that's actually a fair challenge. If not that I'd love it if I could just quit immediately upon joining instead of having to wait for a full level load every time...

 

Am I alone here?

And free mode needs a friendly fire off option. Not happening though.

That'd be a "nice to have", but accidentally shooting my buddy isn't really costing me anything. Finding a decent race used to take a few minutes - now I'm lucky if I can find anything before the game hangs on load and I just give up

I'd love it if search parameters were included in the pause menu, for example...

 

user created: OFF

catchup: OFF

custom cars: ON

slipstream: EITHER

offroad: OFF

non contact: EITHER

rally: OFF

GTA race: OFF

 

We would see less joining and quitting, resulting in much fuller races

there's a flaw however, once you join they can easily change it

 

it could work with the standard/GTA/rally/non-contact since those are locked upon inviting people

serious racers like myself love no contact due to the little kiddies who think its cool to turn races into a demolition derby. if i race with friends or crew who i know and trust then contact is on, others join and race dirty, contact off, its called options which is great. we all like different things...

 

Serious racers also like the rally as its challenging, seems you just like easy races where you can pit people...

Just a few hours ago, I was in a bicycle race where these Mexicans would wait at the end of a tunnel and keep sniping players as they respawned.

Them laughing like little girls in their mics didn't help the situation at all...
