these whippersnappers don't realize that people in their 30s and 40s were the test subjects of the video game REVOLUTION, and many haven't stopped since then. These "FOGIES" have been playin' vidya games since before you wuz suckin' on yer mum's titties.

38, been a gamer since day one and my Dad's an avid gamer too. He's always playing RPG games on his Nintendo DS (he's been hooked on that genres since he started playing Legend of Zelda, Dragon Warrior, and Final Fantasy) back when the NES came out, and he was known to give us kids a run for our money when we were playing Missile Command and Defender back on the old Atari systems. My mother started playing only recently (in the past 10 years or so) starting with the Gameboy Advance. First thing my kids do when they visit their grandparents is to snag their Nintendo Ds's and compare stats with them.

 

Once a gamer, always a gamer.

I'm a heavy smoker so maybe I should choose "Above 51 years old". :p

 

Depends what you're smoking.

if he happen to smoke bamboo he should obviously feel like a panda

I hear bamboo smoking is really the rage right now... right after buttchugging, the cinnamon challenge and sniffing fermented poop gas.

Indeed. And smoking rubber will make you a street racer........or a Don Juan, depending on the 'type' of rubber that's smoking, and why lol.

I'm not sure either, I keep hearing the "mature players" phrase tossed around, but it's usually by the younger crowd wanting to embrace their adulthood a bit early. As one poster said, this forum represents a scant percentage of the total gaming community and our polls are therefore skewed to the more hardcore GTAer as casual gamers wouldn't spend so much time on this site... There have been a number of "Age Polls" here, maybe people just want to know if they are unique in their demographics? But it seems like gamers are of all ages, only one "Under 12" response but again, any voluntary poll's voracity can't be confirmed due to dishonesty and the willingness to participate alone being major skewing factors, not even including the location where the poll was made accessible... in this case a place where a small, vocal, minority of players congregate.

 

So... in short, or TL;DR; Who f*cking knows. People just like to post and be heard.

At age 98 my grandmother saw my brother and I racing 10th scale rc buggies on our own track (we are ~40). She told us it was great and to please never stop being kids. We gave her a drive and she crashed into a brick wall snapping a front suspension arm but it was all good we had spares and was running again before she left :). She lived to 101, sharp in the mind and good health all the way. She played games and layed in the sun everyday.
