Any Solutions To Freezing?

Yeah, I haven't had any luck using different DNS settings either.

And it happened in offline mode playing single player. I did that for 2 weeks when my router broke.

 

Still interested in your findings Kracus. What did you find? And what did you do to troubleshoot the issue?

i noticed from session hopping to find a specific car, certain sessions are extremely laggy while some run pretty good. its so dumb

I ran a packet sniffer to see where traffic was going and noticed I was crashing only when I was receiving updates from other player locations. Tested in solo sessions and in single player and didn't get freezing. For some reasons though it doesn't freeze in MP lobbies or during races either so I'm puzzled as to why free roam is causing it but regardless I'm pretty sure it's got something to do with playing with other players. Even if I start an invite only session and invite specific people I don't freeze but get the wrong connection in there and bam.

 

Friend of mine reported the same issue and advised a DNS change fixed it for him which sounds ridiculous cause all DNS does is point to an IP but regardless it worked. I wish I could edit a hosts file on the xbox to point the rockstar servers to it's IP without using DNS at all but sadly that ain't really an option which would be a good troubleshooting step.

 

Since I'm moving after work to a different town though I haven't aggressively troubleshot it since I don't play around in free roam often anyway and I'll get to test it out on a different ISP. Either way, rockstar should fix their sh*t.

ive froze in mission and on loading screens also but not near as often as i have in free roam.

Forget the freezing, being sent back to GTA single-player is what really ticks me off. The freezing is less frequent.

Well im in a freeroam right now with a glitcher who ran on foot and caught up to us. We were driving in a ztype (we were going full speed). He was firing explosive jet rounds from a rifle...I was watching him run up the road after us, quite impressive. Killed us lots of times, he had god mode also. But we didn't freeze despite the super low frame rate from all the explosions. So I guess I can't blame glitchers.

So is the freezing/lost connection bull-sh*t worse on a digital copy of the game or better? I have a digital copy, FYI.

I tried this method:

- clear system cache

- delete & reinstall 1.13 update

 

My game has been locking up, but not freezing. .......(yet)

I freeze more after clearing my cache and rebuilding the file database. It hasn't fixed it in the slightest.

Same here has froze since patch 1.11 can't hardly get into lobby's with people most of them are empty and if not I'll freeze 10 mins in

I wish I just could have kept my big mouth shut XD

cuz I never had any problems even after 1.13

untill yesterday when it froze 3 times in about 15 minutes (which coincidentally is about the time it takes to start up the game 3 times, so yeah)

though it could have been my ISP because afterwards my internet was down for a few hours
