DS Monkfish

So how many of you have played these bad boys.....

Forget the DS, even the gameboy. Go back further than the Atari Lynx...

This was the pinnacle of portable gaming back in the day....

I had one of those! You had to catch people jumping from a burning building and bounce them into an ambulance. A couple of years later I got a handheld Pacman game for Christmas. It was AWESOME.

One is never too old for music, so it's impossible to be too old for video games as it's a form of entertainment as well and I would think more over 30 people play since we can remember the Atari days, etc...the reason I'm still playing video games is....have you seen them lately? Games are amazing these days.

Plus at our age, there aren't too many places we can be kids again. That's the sad truth.

I am a grandfather (56 years old) that enjoys playing gta5, I was wondering how many other old people play? Yes my grandson plays this game also, he is in high school, he is pretty good at it. I usually play invited or crew sessions.

So what does an old guy like me like to do?

Run beach goers over

Rob stores

Jack cool cars

Ride on top of ambulances and shoot the citizens

Run people over in my white hearse

I play rooftop rumble, and coveted for money

Fly planes

Jump a car into the military base and steal a jet

Drive to the poor side of Los Santos just for some gang trouble, that is a lot of fun.

Sometimes I do go to the public forums just to shoot the whippersnappers. hehehehehe

Stay thirsty my friends

Gramps

im 48 and i've done most of what you listed, i can be a little devil.:devil:

34 year old carpentry teacher and father of four daughters here, it's funny how u always are drawn to like-minded people as the majority of my XBL friends are also around the same age and maturity level as me. Good to see so many adults gaming.

Mid-20's and now feel sooo much better about playing games. Was wondering if there was a "limit", but now I feel I can play on.

The only person that will ever ask you to stop gaming is a woman.

Never stop doing something you love. Ever.

I wanted one of these so bad when I was a kid... really wanted octopus or parachute for Xmas.

Xmas day rolled around and I saw this nice little Game and Watch sized package under the tree with my name on it.

Opened it up and BAM!

Game and Clock, same thing right? :/

Sorry not trying to be sexist on purpose, I do speak from experience as most of my friends no longer play and it's not because they don't want to.

They just rather avoid the arguments, as they put it.

I often wondered if there will come a day that I'll just grow out of gaming, but it hasnt happened yet. Finding my old Game boy Advance and playing that for an hour last night didn't help lol

From experience with mates who've given up fast cars and all that it's not the women, it's what can pop out of them that's usually the issue  Edited by dewtech_2008

Wow, more of us gaming veterans than I thought. I'm not sure where the baby boomer era starts. I'll be 41 next week, and I've been playing playing video games since the days of Texas instruments, Atari, colecovision, intellivisin, postal and doom.

Often I get called loser, must have no life... bla bla blaaaa. I work third shift, so I guess they are part right lol. Other than that I'm married, got kids, dogs, a lifted jeep, a gas sucking suv, and am about 400K mortgaged up the bum with the waterfront home... living the life haha.

I love pointing out that I'm nearly triple the age of some of these squeakers I get grouped with or that I've been playing video games well before they were bouncing around in daddy's balls...

lol. I get what you're saying but sports cars can take your life. A video game probably won't , unless you rage jump out your window.

Being asked to tone down your riskier behavior when you have a family to raise is reasonable.

"I remember my Atari and my uncle's (65 and still games) Intellivision. Funny how far we've come in the gaming world.

I'm forty-one, and never will have the intention of giving up gaming."

this is pretty much what I was going to add...

I'll be 40 this year, & my 65 year old uncle level glitched...

On the flip side, I had to laugh when my 7 year old nephew had gotten banned from club penguin a few years back for hacking...

Kinda made me proud lol

Well I guess whoever is calling you a loser probably wishes they could take time out to do something they enjoy as much as you enjoy taking time for your gaming. The notion that we should stop doing something that brings us joy at any age is ridiculous.

Imagine someone telling Steve Jobs he should have stopped playing with computers because he was getting too old for that stuff. lol.

My mom actually beat the game before I did (I was travelling... so I'll allow it) and she turns 56 this year. I'm 31, which apparently is shocking to people when I play. "A girl?! And she's old?! WTF?!" is the usual response I get. I can't help it. I was given one of these bad boys for my 7th birthday and have been playing ever since.

Now i don't feel so old but my daughter is turning 10 in a few days so that alone makes me feel old.

Well seeing as he is 56 he never said how old his grandson was so even if he was 14 to 17 he could've been born when he was 39-43 which mean he had his daughter/son around 18-23 so it's very possible
