Nice one mate keep it up. Got a couple of 39 year olds on my friends list, but that's the oldest.

Keep running those beach goers over.

I'm 33, no grandpa material but I'd guess I'm above the average player age. I know just a few that are a little older than me but not by much.

I'm 42 next week, and to celebrate I've taken a week and a half off work and will spend half of that time playing GTAO.

Happy Birthday to me :D

I sure hope there's not an age limit on playing games. I'll turn 40 this year and have no intentions of giving up gaming anytime soon LOL.

It pains me to see how bored my grandpa is when there are all these fun games to play. He's too stuck in his habits. He's really that kind of guy too, never wants to try anything new. He won't even eat a baguette because he hates the French, let alone touch a PS3. Boredom has never been a problem for me and never will be. When I check into a nursing home I'll be the guy hogging the recreation room tv with headphones on and a blunt in my mouth, getting my ass kicked by 10 year olds because of my arthritis.

You're a grandfather but how old are you? A 40 year old could be a grandfather, it doesn't say you are that old really. It would be cool with a 70 year old playing gta. ^^

Lol, I'm 32 and was playing the other day with a friend I met online grinding RR. I don't use a mic so I know nothing about him (her?) except that they are 9 hours ahead of my time zone. The other day they sent a message asking how old I am. So I typed '32, u?' The message I got back said '15'. I laughed, I felt so old. I sent a message ' I was a little older than you when I started playing GTA' (the first one (with the birds eye view and the add on London disc) came out when I was around 17). The message I got back: 'I was 7'. LOL! Playing GTA at 7!!!!!

Add me to the list, I'm 51 and enjoy playing GTAOL. I started an MC just to have a crew of older players on the 360.

Sugar Free Nos

Woah, how did I end up stumbling into the Oatmeal, canes, and hoverround convention?

Lol, just kidding. It's nice to see that it's not just teens and 20s playing GTA.

Cheers!

It's odd posting a Twin Peaks gif in a thread where the people might have actually watched the show when it was on air.

48, but I stopped maturing when I hit 18. Maybe regressed a bit.

Yes, I did. And several times since. It's one of my most favourite things.

A lot of older people play this game. I was in a crew once where the average age was like 35. It's just that you see mostly trolls and degenerates populate on the forum, so it makes it seem like only kids play V.

In my day we didn't have these fancy game consoles.

WE HAD STICKS AND WE LIKED IT!! AND IT SNOWED EVERY DAY FOR FIVE YEARS!!

Actually we had it pretty good when I was in high school. I have no idea what stories I will be able to tell my 11 year old daughter to scare her off when she asks me for money.

Probably something lame about vinyl records or not having cable television.

TheApparentlyGullibleGamer

The average gamer is now around 30 years old, all platforms included.

I'm 31, going 32 in two weeks and I must say these stats make sense because gaming is not a "phase" that you grow out of.

Games are a rather young form of entertainment, and the people who grew up with games still enjoy them and play them as they grow older, which is honestly f*cking great. Games evolved with us so we didn't leave them behind, they grew more complex or more simpler depending on the target audience, which litteraly spread them across all age groups to be enjoyed.

Of course, in the 80's and 90's you had games intended for older players like X-Com (still can't f*cking beat Terror from the Deep, I try once a year) and Populous and Civilization, Perfect General and whatnot, but back then they were not as mainstream as today.

Last year my uncle who barely knows his way around a computer was pissed off because the Simcity servers crashed. I was floored and amazed.

Anyone over 50 in the thread : What GTAO cars do you own?

Shake 'N Bake

Love hearing about some of our older forum members/ gta players. Pretty cool to see such a broad audience play the game. To all the older gamers, keep chugging.

I'm 35, been playing for years. My dad actually got me started in gaming, when I was a kid he use to work in arcade game repair for a company called Castles and Coasters. He would take my brother and I and let us play the games while he worked. He still plays, but unfortunately cant get him to try GTA. He only plays Battlefield games (PS3). We have a bunch of old consoles, even an old Pong unit. It's brown and tan and is a single box with two knob controls built into the box. My how time has changed.

Crew leaders well into his late 30's and loves gaming as much as anyone I know, Hand my Grandad (or dad for that matter) an Xbox controller and they wouldn't know where to begin.

Although one thing I've found playing online, at 24 I'm quite often at the top end of the age range :(

I am a grandfather (56 years old) that enjoys playing gta5, I was wondering how many other old people play?

You sir, are a legend!

I am 39 years old (genuinely, that's not some lame "I'm never turning 40" excuse, I am actually 39!) and one thing I have learned over my time with online games is that it is NOT age that matters, it is maturity.

The only time I have personally noticed that age is a hindrance with online gaming is my reactions are not what they used to be, so I tend to get 'owned' by the younger generation in a gun fight! :die:

My arl fella loves GTA V aswell, he's 52 now and only got back into gaming a few years ago and now he's like a big kid all over again haha! I don't get why some people find it surprising that people aged between 30-60 still play video games because alot of these guys grew up with the very first gaming consoles around, so they've been doing it for decades! I'm 29 myself (soon to be 30) and I've been playing games for over 20 years and i know I'll never quit, even if my fiancée cant stand them! I'll definitely be the cool grandad kicking my grandkids asses on whatever games are out in years to come! :D
