Different versions of the Sandkind?

Grapseed is Sandking territory. I got my XL there.

 

Sandking SWB - standard cab, standard bed. Just a lifted pickup truck.

 

Sandking XL - crew cab with an extended bed, is a hell of a lot longer.

 

That's about it for the differences. Also, they are 4WD, but Rockstar f*cked up and they are temporarily 2WD (rear wheel drive). The Karin Rebel is still 4WD.

 

Here's mine, I used to have it in a Texan color scheme, but I recently changed to blue, but miss the old color, might change it back.

Finally found one last night with the stock bullbar... boy, these don't spawn easily, I had to keep driving around Sandy Shores and swapping sessions... then I found a bunch of non-bulbar variants as well as SWBs, so I grabbed one of those and used it as bait. It was worth it though, this is one fine truck. Damn I love those stock tires... nothing purchasable is anywhere close.

I wish I had pictures of my truck. That thing was my go to vehicle for most terrains. The 4WD used to make it so you could climb 70^o inclines at a standstill. Anyone noticed that the stock bullbars make it easier to drive over other cars? You could ram a dilettante with the bullbars at high speed and still go over it whereas without it you're just gonna end up smashing your lights.

Exactly. The purchased ones add a large bottom lip that often catches on things. This is why I spent so much time and effort finding this and replacing my purchased one.

 

But boy... do I miss the 4WD. I hope this gets fixed soon.

Nice! I was going to use chrome as a secondary color as well. Did you end up using something other than the stock wheels? Can you put custom tyres and different color on stock wheels?

Are the tyres different? It's hard to tell from the 2 pics at the top of the page, but they look bigger in your picture. Or is it the rims that you like?

I like everything about the stock better, except for some reason I wanted the writing on them. The tires are very close (stock just a tiny but bigger...), the pic from SaberHuskey is custom Offroad tire with an offroad wheel. I went for one that was close to what you see in my pic... give me a minute and I will take a new pic (f*cking game just froze...).

Also the rumor about buying it with the front lip is bullsh*t..

When bought it may or may not come with a bullbar or bed rails. But it will never come with the optional lip avalaible from LCS.

What I was saying is if you buy one, it'll come without the bullbars. If you want bullbars, the only option at LSC is to get the lip as well...

Ah so the rim gets a bit bigger and the tyre circumference stays pretty much the same? I like the way it looks in the bottom pic more. My game froze as well about 30 minutes ago but I'm gonna start it up again and try to find the truck.

Yeah, that's what I see. I wish I could have added the custom tires to the stock rim, but this is very close, so I'm satisfied.

SANDKING: It's a Love Hate Thing

I can't tell you how many times I've jack'd a Sandking and added it to my garage, only to sell it a few sessions later.
The little kid in me is in love with those big tires, the fuel tanks, and the ability to drive over other cars without care.

However, it's usefulness is limited beyond its ability to cross rivers and stomp like a boss. It rolls. It falls. It slides.
Going off-road in this beast usually ends up in terminal, chemical frustration, whether crashing into simple sticks in the dirt or endlessly tumbling down a ravine for three minutes.

Still, despite any drawbacks, with the ability to have expanded garage space now, there's no reason in the world not to keep one, just for the fun of it.

For me, night time is the right time to bring out the Sandking, as it's a menacing site to see when you're in the middle of a police firefight and a Sandking rolls over your head and everything else in its path.

ps. dropping the suspension on a Sandking should get you banned from ever owning one. Just saying is all.

I'm in a solo session, driving in and out of the LSC in Sandy Shores to try to get different cars to spawn. First thing I see when drove out for the first time: An SWB with bull bars and door steps. I hope the XL is gonna be easy to find as well.

 

fw3, is that yours? I think it looks awesome with the fuel tanks but they really destroy the ground clearance.

 

By the way, I just parked an SWB next to my Rebel and it makes the Rebel look like it could be put in the Sandking's truck bed and driven around. This thing is huge.

Keep the SWB (put a tracker on it) and use it to switch sessions. When you find the XL (the SWB will help) just blow the SWB up and put the XL in your garage. Watch out for freezing... jesus...

No drive shaft to turn diff = 2wd

I found it. Didn't take too long, switched sessions a couple of times while in the SWB and after a while it spawned. It doesn't have the roll cage though but I'm gonna put the truck bed cover on it anyway. Or would that stay visible inside of the cover?

Yeah but I bought the big extension so I was wondering if the roll bars would stay inside of it. Doesn't matter though in the end because I tinted the windows.
